About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Relax556454574330 contributionsWonderfull journeyMr Rajan was a humble agent with numerous experience which all of you Will enjoy his knowledge about KL overall... Thanks u so much...Written March 18, 2024
- NorthStar153328783750 contributionsYes to the Fireflies, No to the tourThe fireflies were nice to see (not as specacular as in the pictures), the boat ride was fun. However, I had some issues: 1) Price: The value for money on this one was just not good for me (note: booking via tripadvisor one day in advance the tour was around 350MYR for me!). Taking a grab from KL there and back would have been cheaper in total. They ask for 50MYR for the tour on site. 2) Even though it was so expensive, the "blue tears" experience had to be purchased extra for 50MYR. 3) The food. You can book this tour without the food for quite some money less. I highly recommend to NOT book the food, it is very average and way to expensive for it (was over 100MYR for me!). Also, our driver was also our guide, however there was not much information. He was very nice, but I would have liked a little more information about the river, the area and so on. For this price having a dedicated guide seems reasonable. All in all an average experience, I would book with another (cheaper) company.Written March 17, 2024

- MarkMyWords670 contributionsNot sure it's worth the effort of goingWe visited Melaka in middle of March 2024 which happened to be the first week of Ramadan. We caught a coach from TBS in KL and it took around 2 hrs and cost around MYR 50 for 2 people return - approx £5 each. The tourist bit of Melaka is a very tiny bit of the whole Melaka city - which is quite big and just like any other modern Malaysian city. The old tourist area is a very very small area and you can easily do the main bits in half a day - it's is a pure tourist spot. Being Ramadan, the majority of tourists we saw were non-muslim and we're about 99% Chinese. Most tourists seemed to be brought in by coach so quite literally swamped the place from around 9am to 5pm - the place is packed with big groups who take over the place and are very noisy . Getting a nice photo without loads of people is impossible - no idea how the travel books/website do it. The main sites in Melaka are all close together and typically for Malaysia could be presented better - in my view it's not that great a place and personally I wasn't a fan but it's a 'tick box' place to visit. As it was Ramadan, many restaurants were closed due to lack of business - the coach loads either didn't eat in Melaka or seemed to eat at one big restaurant ( where the coach companies had a deal ?). There may be more choice at other times. It's not a pretty city really, and although the tourist books tell you about places to get 'great' views, we couldn't find one - all you can see is a sprawling modern city that isn't that pretty Overall I'd say Melaka is massively over-hyped and the tourist books make it seem far more attractive than it really is. It is only a short drive from KL (80 miles approx) and cheap to get to, so worth a short visit. Really don't recommend anything more than an overnight stay otherwise you will end up with nothing to do.Written March 16, 2024

- Od10 contributionsTwinkling Fire Flies and Cute MonkeysOur driver guide Rajan was excellent, informative and friendly, excellent vehicle, safe and comfortable. Fair value for tour. Option to do eagle feeding out in the boat, 50RP, before the firefly trip, and blue plankton on the sand trip, after the fire flies, where the ocean meets the river, also 50RP. All 4 on our tour declined, I guess that you would have to wait if some went, if you choose the share option in the first place, but there is a restaurant where u can wait. The boat is basic, one engine, fits about 30 people, so others join you for this part of the tour. I loved the fireflies and was very happy, but others in my group were disappointed, I guess it depends upon what u expect! I saw the odd one, then groups of five, then a few groups of about twenty or more, all flashing very bright. Great what a little bug can do! Meal was fine, nothing to sing home about, but good and plenty. Monkeys were georgous, seemed gentle and not scarey, but beware of feeding them if u dont want to be jumped on!Written March 15, 2024
- artemp2650 contributionsGood trip for one time visitingHey, buddies. What to share my experience with this trip. 1. Overall trip was really nice. Drive is super kind and vibe was cute and comfortable. Places were pretty simple, but local and interesting. 2. But, it turns out that the information in the description is rather incomplete. Keep in mind that you will be asked for an additional 50RM if you go to see the blue ties (and you won't have much choice), and also if you go to feed the eagles (but it's understandable). It is not in the description and you need be care about it and clarify with your company before start. Enjoy your trip and take careWritten March 11, 2024

- Brett L0 contributionsMediocre trip for the time poor.Just do it yourself, this is a 'dive to' experience and from this trip the Batu caves and waterfalls were excellent, everything else was forgettable, unfortunately. The driver was a nice chap but I feel like I spent double what the tour was worth and sadly would only recommend it if you're cashed up and lazy 3/5. Sorry.Written March 11, 2024

Gave us plenty of opportunities to take photos, stop for comfort breaks if necessary. Asked us if we were happy with what we were seeing, the pace we were going and gave us free time to explore too. Our lunch was good, local Malaysian food - all fresh and tasty. Transport was very comfortable and cool - good for the long trip. We enjoyed our day - would recommend.Written March 9, 2024

They have created a rainforest habitat with a maze of footpaths winding through lush vegetation, across bridges over koi ponds, past waterfalls, gazebos and turtle ponds. They also had a collection of beetles, stick insects and other insects, millipedes, etc. that we checked as well.Written March 7, 2024

If you are a nature lover and passionate about the environment, then pack your bags, head to Pulau Langkawi and book yourself a Kilim Geoforest and Mangrove Tour. Advisable to bring along a poncho or waterproof jacket/windbreaker just in case it rains. Wear comfortable outfits as you will be getting in and out of the boat a few times.

Excellent tour including bat cave, mangroves, secluded beach, fish farm and sea eagles, also monkeys coming onto boat to drink water. Exciting fast longboat ride and great tour guide Cobra. Highly recommended. Pick up and drop off by minibus from your accommodation.

We took this tour on 9th of Jan, this year. It involves tour on a boat over river and halting in some places of interest. You can see the Mangroves closely, they were quite interesting because of their roots above the grounds. The top most attraction is the Eagle feeding-where the personnel in the boat throws some chicken pieces to the water, eagles come flying from the sky, catch the pieces and go. It was very good. saw lots of eagles. The Bat cave was quite scary!!-You are supposed to walk through a cave without making any noise. The bats were there in the upper wall of the cave. It felt like a horror movie. The only negative spot is the Fish feeding part. There was nothing unusual. moreover the water where the fishes are kept was really dirty, the whole area was smelling bad. This needs to be taken care at an urgent basis-Otherwise this part acts like a black spot of the whole tour

The booking facilitator is Asni Tours & Travels (iTours). The number provided on the booking receipt is not available at all. The tour itself was fine but we found ourselves lost and not sure what to do (e.g. finding our boat driver, finding our driver back to our hotel). There are other places (e.g. Casa Fina hotel) that offers the same tour at a much cheaper rate. The lunch at the floating fish farm was not included at all and you have to pay yourself (Please note that the price for the fish is RM/weight). Overall it is a must-visit attraction but please book via some other platform.

astonishing view and boating experience. The boat driver and tour guide are very friendly and helpful. Better ready to get into the water if you want to, you may have chance to swim at Malacca Strait. Overally , this is a must while you are traveling to Langkawi. Unforgettable trip!

This is a very over priced tour if you book the same tour at a hotel or with an agent in Langkawi it will cost 85-90RM not 150RM they are charging via trip advisor. The tour is very poorly organised you get treated like animals yelled at & hearded into a cue with no idea which boat you are supposed to be in.
The times if the tours quoted are misleading ie. states 3 hour tour which doesn’t include travel (which meant some ppl had to cancel & get taxi back to make flights).
As for the tour bat cave is just a cave, fish farm is animal cruelty sting rays in 1m x 1m nets & harrassed so people can (pat them ie. hit them) & the eagles are feed pellets & chicken skins so they will land near the boats (this is clearly unnatural for there diets), but if you are into that then you may enjoy it.
Overall I would not recommend but if you do book suggest do it locally & not via tripadvisor to ensure you pay a fair price.

I will be arriving in Langkawi on17 December 2019 at 7.00 am on the Norwegian Jade.
Please let me know if your tour does any pick from the cruise terminal for the Mangrove Tour and back to the terminal. If so what is the pickup time?
I presume the tour price will also include all the entrance fee and a lunch.
