Nejdet Kahraman was exceptional in explaining the tour and very informative of history and culture especially how religions can live together and exist side by side. Lunch was provided and was very delicious at a carpet weaving school and local food. So when you visit look up Nejdet and let him take care of you!Written September 14, 2024
- Elnukas0 contributionsHouse of Virgin Mary/EpheusHad a great experience doing the House of the Virgin Mary and Epheus. We were picked up at the port this morning by our lovely guide Yigit. He showed us to our bus and we headed off to the House of Virgin Mary. It was a very wet morning but Yigit gave us his umbrella for a while. He was a very good tour guide sharing all the information and knowledge. Thankfully the weather cleared up for Epheus and it was an amazing site. Well worth going to see when you are in Kusadasi. We had a great day and it was well worth the money. Would recommend to friends if they ever came to Kusadasi.Written September 11, 2024

- helloktt0 contributionsUnexpectedly wonderful excursion. Really enjoyed!Amazing experience! Didn’t have high expectations based on pictures and the hot weather, but boy was I wrong. It was an amazing tour with our tour guide, Mray. He gave us early Christian History and helped us beat the crowds. He was experienced and knowledgeable about early Christian history. He gave us the option to go shopping at local artisan shops like Turkish rug factory, leather goods store and took us to a local Turkish restaurant. It was an amazing time and the food was spot on! We ended up buying more than we expected but we got great deals with high quality materials. This excursion was a highlight for our trip!Written July 31, 2024

- 224joycew0 contributionsTerrific experience with a great guide. We selected a private tour because I knew I could not keep up the pace of a large tour group from the cruise line. Our guide, Nejdet was wonderful, our driver was very good and the vehicle very comfortable. Our guide was so very considerate and extremely knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and we really saw the highlights of our trip to Ephesus. Since lunch was included in our tour, he gave us options and we selected a wonderful, family-owned venue where we had many choices and outdoor eating in their grove while sharing experiences with our guide. It was a great adventure! We will have lasting memories of this tour.Written July 20, 2024
- Ellen W0 contributionsPerfect for highlights!Informative and entertaining. Our guide was very friendly and she knew how to avoid the crowds and give all the highlights. I could not recommend more. Bus driver was also courteous and professional. Bus was A/C and very comfortable.Written July 20, 2024
- keithbT6407LI0 contributionsGREAT TOUR AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE EXPERIENCEThere were only 4 of us on our tour and we were picked up from Kusadasi port as we arrived on a cruise ship. Our guide was Tariq who was very friendly and informative throughout our trip - we could not have wished for a better guide. It was interesting to see the last place of residence of the Virgin Mary and the time we stayed was just about right. However, when we saw Ephesus we were blown away. This is a must see site when visiting Turkey. It is quite large and there is plenty to see and for us ranked equally with Petra in Jordan. There is so much that has been uncovered and you would need a full day to do it all justice. Overall a great day out with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Highly recommended. The transport was first class, clean and comfortable.Written July 17, 2024

The Ephesus site and especially the terrace houses was so interesting. Definitely take the 155 steps thru the houses; it is not hard. We also went to see locals make hand-made rugs. The process is more than you can imagine and they offered tasty Turkish coffee and tea. We had lunch there as well and it was delicious. The driver was very good too and kept the car nice and cool in the heat.Written June 27, 2024

We had a wonderful day on this tour!
Booking was very straight forward and the company adjusted our pick up location without any issue. The vehicle was comfortable and the driver was very pleasant.
Our guide for the day was Tez. He arrived promptly to collect us at our hotel and was so pleasant and helpful to us throughout the tour. As it was a private tour so we were able to go at our own pace and ask any questions we had.
We took the tour in Sunday and because we knew there was Mass at the Virgin Mary’s House we asked to visit here first. It worked out perfectly.
Tez has been a guide for 12 years and he is very knowledgable. He gave us enough information without swamping us and he gave us time to take photos and explore at our own pace so we never felt rushed. His English was perfect and we really couldn’t have had a better guide!
Lunch was lovely, served in the garden of a nearby complex and afterwards we were intrigued to see the ladies spinning silk and weaving beautiful rugs. We were not interested in purchasing any of these but there was no pressure to buy and we enjoyed the opportunity to admire them.
The tour was also very good value, particularly as it was only the two of us and we would definitely recommend it to others.

I was 100% impressed with both this tour and with Taylan, our private guide. Taylan was waiting for us with a clearly marked sign when we left our cruise ship.
The vehicle was comfortable and clean and our driver was safe and courteous.
The tour began with a perfectly timed visit to the house of Mary before the crowds arrived. Taylan’s tour of Ephesus was super interesting and informative. Lunch was at a pleasant outside restaurant. An added bonus was a visit to a Turkish carpet cooperative.
I highly recommend this company for a well-organized tour experience!

We purchased a private tour with Ephesus Shuttle which was a wonderful experience! Our English-speaking tour guide was VERY knowledgeable, courteous, and gave us a wonderful peak at the Kusadasi / Ancient Ephesus region. We saw the house of Mary, (mother of Jesus), Ancient Ephesus, and had a fabulous meal outdoors at a small farm /restaurant. One complaint though, the carpet tours which appear to be standard in most Turkish tours are pretty high pressure sales. To learn about the process of handmade rugs is fascinating, and the rugs are indeed magnificent, but we found them to be extremely expensive (as in THOUSANDS of dollars). It is hard to decline without feeling we have insulted their workmanship. That is my only complaint. The tour though was amazing and well worth the expense of going the private route! I would indeed recommend!

WOW! This was an amazing trip and one that made our family feel like we were family to the locals around town. Inan was our tour guide and he was excellent in explaining everything about the House of Virgin Mary, the city of Ephesus and the history of it. He also took us shopping to great places with beautiful leather goods! Last, but definitely not the least, the food for this tour was absolutely delicious!! We ate outdoors at a local restaurant and the weather was beautiful and I can’t rave enough about the food. It was authentic Turkish food and so yummy! I highly recommend this tour! If you’re still deciding, I say don’t look any further because this is the best tour and I’ve done a lot of research in regards to tours!
Other info regarding my specific trip:
We traveled by cruise ship and we docked in Turkey for about 11 hours and this tour was perfect! They were able to adjust times as needed.
We also traveled as a big family. 8 adults and 3 children (ages 3, 1 and 1). This tour was very kid friendly and not a lot of walking and the van was big enough for us to space out and also it was air conditioned!
Definitely 11/10 stars!!!

Best tour of our entire trip! Alex was so knowledgeable and informative. He was able to customize our tour to include terrace houses ( small fee) and even though we requested “no shopping”, he arranged for a demonstration with the carpet makers not to be missed!! Wish there were more than 5 stars to give! Lunch was local fare, included, absolutely delicious! He even took group photos of us.

Everything about our day was wonderful! Our guide thought of every detail so we could just learn and enjoy! She was very knowledgeable about the history, but also willing to share her personal details to help us better understand the current culture. We had lunch at a local restaurant (included in our tour price) and our guide ordered so many delicious local dishes for us to try. Couldn’t have asked for a better day!

Incredible!! This tour was everything my friend and I could have asked for, and then even more! We toured Ephesus, Artemis, and the House of The Virgin Mary. Lunch at the local deli was increndible, and we were fortune enough to be there on the day of the farmer market. You'll never see such beautiful architecture, learn such amazing history, and eat such wonderful food as you will on this tour! Our guide really brought the stories of the ancient city to life---she was engaging, friendly, and a great communicator. Highly recommend! No additional fees were presented to us, either. This is a great tour overall!

Firstly, we would like to say that this would have been a 5 star review if it wasn't for the hard sell rug fiasco!
The booking of this trip was very easy as was the follow up admin etc. We were picked up from our hotel on time in a very clean and nicely airconditioned Mercedes mini bus.
We were also very lucky to be the only two people on the trip for that day.
Our first port of call was the Virgin Mary House, followed by Ephesus. These were both truly amazing places to visit and we would say a knowledgeable tour guide is a must to get the most from your visit.
Our tour guide (Taz) was superb.
The meal we had was very tasty and there was plenty of it. We had to pay for drinks (which we did know).
It was just a little disappointing that Taz clearly knew what was going to be happening with the rugs. We were asked if we would like to see how the rugs were made, which we did agree too. The main reason for this was that we were told that this was a 'co-operative' type local community business, trying to continue with its traditional ways of manufacturing, with the local community all having a part in the process and earning a living. Unfortunately, this wasn't necessarily the case. We did NOT like the Manager trying his hard sell tactics OR the £0000's price tags either.
We knew very quickly that we were trying to be sold rugs which we declined on a number of occasions. This didn't seem to deter the manager, he appeared to be on a mission to sell us a rug! Even there cheap rugs were too expensive for us (especially as we didn't want one to start with)!
At one point there were approx. 8 people (excluding us) in the room, with the rug hard sell!
Sadly, Taz just sat back waiting. Even though It was clear we did not want a rug.
The manager eventually got the message and we could then clearly see the change in his mood/manner.
Bottom line, the Virgin Mary, Ephesus and meal part of the trip, with Taz was truly amazing and an absolute must (as was Taz's company).
Avoid the rug location like the plague UNLESS you do want a rug.

Loved Ephesus
Fully recommend
Love seeing history and what it represents
It was very hot though so advise take a good hat or an umbrella and keep away from the trees as they have ants in. Big ants as well. Take plenty of water.

This tour was amazing! The comfort from traveling in the smaller group is well worth it once you see the crowds from the cruise port and other buss loads. Our guide Alex was amazing at teaching us the highlights of his country, language, and the historical site in detail. Our visit to Ephesus was very informative and well paced. Lunch was delicious and the carpet demonstration very interesting, you do not have to buy anything just enjoy the art. My mom did buy a rug and they delivered to her home in the US on time and professionally,

Our Norwegian ship will dock in Kusadasi on July 18 from 0630 to 1230. Could we get back to the ship in time if we only did Ephesus? There are 4 of us.
