Eat Like a Local Tour in Hua Hin
US$41.92
Overview
Eat like a local on this tour of Hua Hin’s Thai food scene. Fill up on roughly 15 tastings, including noodles, dumplings, sausages, sweets, and more, enjoyed at local-favorite roadside stands and unmarked restaurants where you won’t find throngs of tourists. Hotel pickup and drop-off add extra convenience for this tasty adventure.
What to Expect

You start the tour where locals go to satisfy their appetites to start the day. Under this traditional 2 story Thai house, there are 3 generations working. There is a steady stream of hungry customers dropping by for take away, or sitting at the tables slurping freshly made noodles; all this with fresh Nam Prik Pao • Chilli Jam taking pride of place. It is in no way fancy, but there is a reason for its popularity; super tasty food with fast and friendly service!

You then travel to Baan Rak & The Cassia where you will meet a local girl who started selling Kanom Gui Chai • Steamed Chinese Dumplings, from the front of their family home. With local Thai people searching for healthier food options, their offerings are fast becoming more and more popular. You will see how the cooks prepare Gui Chai, learn about its history and taste some freshly made.

At the next stop, you will taste the dishes from the Isaan region, the NorthEast. These dishes are designed to challenge the taste buds a little. The depth of flavour exhibited from this region is astonishing.

On the way to your second last venue, you will stop and try some roadside sweets, cooked the traditional way, in bamboo tubes.

Your penultimate stop is a very local eatery located just opposite the Klai Kangwon Palace. This restaurant serves exclusively Northern Thai cuisine. Here, there is no menu in English. True to the palace's translated name, Far From Worries, you have no worries to come and try two of the North's most famous dishes in Khao Soi • Chiang Mai Noodles and Sai Ua • Chiang Mai Sausage.

Your final destination is another very local institution. Its serene garden location serves excellent Thai food. Here you try Gaeng Kiaw Wan • Green Chicken Curry with Roti. Khun Nim's example is one of the best you will ever taste. You also sample a unique Thai dessert in Khanom Thuay • Steamed Coconut Pudding.

Altogether, the tour includes around 15 food tastings.

Note: Sometimes our regular vendors are closed on the day you have a tour booked however we have other vendors that are equally as good in the event that there is closures.

Wonderful tour with lots of different tastes!

we visited 5 small local restaurants, that all have a different cuisine, coming from all areas in Thailand. Very good tastes, friendly people at the restaurant, Belle explaining everything. Lovely day out! Do not eat before you depart!!!!

I’d contact the Company directly.... I’m sure if you are the only people in the tour they wouldn’t mind. A lot of the food is unsuitable for small children (very hot 🌶🌶). They may charge you for the 12 year old, but the 6... More

It would be best to contact Leigh directly at Feast Thailand. We were a group of 4 and as it turned out were the only ones on the tour. I don't think the groups would be very large anyway. It was a great experience. Have a... More
