Explore Israel’s ancient coastal cities and the cavernous Rosh Hanikra grottoes on a guided day trip from Tel Aviv. You’ll visit all the top coastal highlights in the comfort of an air-conditioned coach packing more into one day than you could do exploring on your own. Visit the ancient relics of Caesarea, the Baha’i Gardens in Haifa, and the Old City Market in Acre and be back in Tel Aviv for dinner.
What to Expect
Your full-day tour of Israel’s ancient port cities and coastal highlights begins with coach pick-up from your Tel Aviv hotel. The first stop of the tour is the Mediterranean harbor city of Caesarea where you’ll stop by Caesarea National Park to see ancient Roman ruins of Herod’s Harbor and the Caesarea Roman Theater, which was one of the biggest amphitheatres built during the Roman era.

Next up, you’ll travel to Hafia, home to the headquarters of the Baha’i faith, to tour the stunningly terraced Baha’i Gardens. From here, travel on to Rosh Hanikra to explore the limestone grottoes carved out of the white cliffs by the sea. This is Israel’s most northwesterly tip and from here you can gaze across the border into Lebanon.

Last stop of the tour is the ancient port city of Acre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring impressive fortified city walls and the Crusader underground passageways used by the Knights of St John. Browse the traditional Middle Eastern goods at the Old City Market to snatch up some souvenirs before returning to your hotel in Tel Aviv.

Haifa and Acre are not to be missed

You begin to realize just how close history is to this land. Something may have happened 100 or 1000 years ago. But it still reverberates today. I could not recommend our guide Ygav Malachi strong enough. He is very knowledgeable and engaging. His grasp of...More

Very little time is spent in Haifa. You exit the bus to look down at the Bahai Gardens for maybe 10-15 minutes and then pile back into the bus to proceed north. If you want to explore Haifa this is definitely NOT the... More
