Chengdu Evening Food Tour by Tuk-Tuk
US$59.00
Overview
Set out in the evening with an expert guide and your own tuk-tuk driver to find the best dinner dishes in Chengdu on this 4-hour tour. Explore pedestrian alleyways, hidden parks, and small temples where you visit favorite local eateries. Experience Chengdu's cuisine and culture by eating at the same places that local people do.
What to Expect

Meet at a central location near the Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street, jump in a private tuk-tuk at about 6:30 p.m., and wind your way through the streets and communities of Chengdu to find the best food in the city. Your guide takes you to eateries that locals love. Cover a lot of ground, and go off the beaten path to family-run restaurants that most travelers couldn't find on their own. Between food stops, chat with your guide about the city while drinking unlimited chilled beer and soda during the ride.

While visiting 4-5 food stops, hear stories about the families that have been making their specialties for generations. Watch food being made and learn about what makes it so special to Chengdu locals. Whether it's enjoying hand-made dumplings in the chef's house, braving the spicy dishes Sichuan is famous for, or sampling some of Chengdu's unique snacks, there's something for everyone to try.

Your tour finishes at about 10:30 p.m. at a bar where you'll sip on a drink with the locals. You can decide to stay at the bar or find your own way home or to your next activity.

That might prove a challenge as the group is on the move in the Tuk-Tuks about every 10-20 minutes for the first couple of stops. You would have to coordinate with the guide. If you can't start from the beginning I would... More
