I had an incredible experience with my friends in January on a desert safari in Dubai. Our guide, Khadim, was not only knowledgeable about the area, but he also served as our dune bashing pilot. Unlike other drivers we encountered, Khadim was a bit more conservative and gentle, which made for a much more comfortable and safe ride. He was kind enough to pick us up and drop us off at our hotel. We also had the chance to try sandboarding, which was an absolute blast with a stunning sunset as the backdrop. The camel ride was also an experience to remember, especially since the poor animal probably made hundreds of rounds that day. To cap off the night, we had a delicious buffet dinner under the stars with live music at the camp. The price of the tour was very reasonable, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique desert adventure. Thank you so much!

Good experience overall.
It only lasted about 2.5-3 hours. The first stop was for riding the optional quad bikes. The other couples that were in the car with us did not opt into it, but we did. It's a fairly small enclosed area for which you pay an additional ~$75 usd for 30min. You can probably do it all in 15min and be done.
The camel ride is really getting on the camel, walking a few steps with the desert as background and taking a few pictures. This is probably <10min.
The drive in the 4WD vehicle was fun. The driver was experienced and the views were beautiful. We did sandboarding a couple of times down the hill, took pictures and then returned. This activity took about 30-40min total.
The ride was quiet, but the driver was friendly and kept offering water and to take pictures.
We originally scheduled for 8.30am pickup; we weren’t informed of pickup time until the morning of, and we were told that the 8.30am tour didn’t have enough people signed up so it was cancelled, and that we had the option of either postponing or going with the 9.30am group. We traveled from afar and were in town for only two mornings, so it would have been nice to know this at least 12-16 hours before for better planning on our end.
3 hours is probably all you need to go out to the desert. I am not sure what a full day would look like.

I recently had the pleasure of taking a tour with your guide Mohammad, and I must say he did an outstanding job. From the moment we met, he exuded a warm and friendly demeanor that immediately put everyone at ease. His knowledge of the area we were visiting was impressive.
One thing that particularly stood out to me was his ability to make the tour entertaining. He had a great sense of humor and was able to keep our group engaged and interested throughout the entire tour. He also went above and beyond to accommodate any needs anyone in our group had.
Another aspect that I appreciated was his punctuality and organization. He made sure that we were in time for all of our scheduled stops and that we had everything we needed for the tour. This allowed us to make the most of our time and see as much as possible.
In summary, Mohammad was an exceptional guide and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide. He truly made this experience one to remember.

We booked the camel ride, dune bashing (4x4 ride) and sand surfing as we didn’t fancy the quad bikes. We were picked up first and informed we had to collect two other couples. Collecting the other couples took 50 minutes and then we began a further 50 minutes to get to the desert. This location is basically a freeway lay-by with a very basic shack selling tat. At this location there were dozens of quad bikes randomly hacking around and disappointingly shattered out preconceived ideas of a remote desert location. There was a small paved area with plastic seats and tables. We were led to two camels between the three couples with the quad bikes in very close proximity. My partner and I got on the camel and led literally 100m into the desert, no more than 2 minutes in the saddle. After a brief photo opportunity we were led back to the starting point. It felt rather like a donkey ride at the seaside in the uk only shorter. We were then informed that we were to wait for the other couples to complete their quad bike rides and sat on plastic benches by a motorway one side and the quad bikes blatting around us on the other, not the idilic location we had in mind. Half an hour later we got back into our 4x4 and drove a short distance into a different area of the desert. We were warned to hold on and prepare for a fast and furious ride, which is what we had signed up for. All was going well until one of our party declared she felt sick. The guide passed her a plastic bag and continued to throw the 4x4 through the desert until the lady threw up and her husband shouted at the guide to stop. Not the guides fault the women clearly picked the wrong experience for her stomachs capability but it meant for a very awkward situation and meant that was the end of our 4x4 experience and we had to chug home after that to avoid any further eruptions from our fellow group members stomach. We took the opportunity to do the sand surfing at this point but were informed because of the recent rain we could only sit on the board and slide down a hill about 10 seconds in total each. We then sat on a hill to wait for the sun to go down and set across the desert. This was a very impressive sight although a little spoilt by numerous 4x4s and buggies thrashing around our location, the noise spoiling an otherwise beautiful moment. With the sun down we trudged back at a slow pace so as to avoid the further emptying of our fellow passenger’s gut. We then set about a long journey home dropping the other two couples off and our last leg of the journey which overall took about and hour and twenty minutes in a puke smelling car. So for £77 we enjoyed 2 minutes on a camel, half an hour wait in a lay-by waiting for others to quad bike, 10 minutes “dune bashing” and a sunset in the desert which felt like a scene from Mad Max as opposed to Omar Sharif. Not forgetting an argument between the puking couple and long journey to and from overall, on balance, we’d give it a miss and stay by the pool.

We were greatly looking forward to the experience, 2 families of 5 adults and 4 children. We were picked up on time from our hotel in two separate 4x4 cars and driven 45 minutes to the first of two venues: the dunes.
As soon as we left the vehicle we were approached by many locals wanting to sell us various goods, from head scarves, to quad biking, all excessively priced. Personally, we don’t like that approach. Once we were clearly uninterested, our guides became equally uninterested in us.
Despite this, approximately 45 minutes later we were driven through the sand dunes, both drivers showing tremendous skill in driving the vehicle. Once we reached the top (about 30 minutes later), we were able to use the sand boards, and our guide took great effort in taking photos of us with our phones to capture the experience well.
We then headed back down to the camp where another 30 minutes of pressure selling was imposed upon us. By this point both instructors were totally silent. When’s e reached the evening venue, we were able to take a 5 minute camel ride which the kids loved, again lots of photos taken. We then went into the camp, greeted with a coffee and snack of chicken shawarma and falafel, and we sat aside the central dancing floor for the evenings entertainment. The BBQ was delicious, loads of fresh salads and lamb and chicken skewers. The entertainment was fun, including belly dancing (us Dads particularly enjoyed that!), fire show and dancing. Afterwards, our ‘guides’ drove us back to our hotel without a single word. Across the desert to the road took about 20 minutes and at times was terrifying. Far too close, at very high speeds, next to the many other 4x4s that all had passengers that had been to the evening BBQ and entertainment. Note: this is a camp and not exclusive. We wanted exclusivity when in the car, a luxury we had to pay an extra 400 AED for, but unnecessary due to being in low season. By the time we drove back to the hotel, it was obvious the guides were fed up. Maybe it was because we chose not to buy anything in addition to the considerable amount we had paid earlier that day and didn’t want to partake in the quad biking.
All in all, a good experience but ruined a little by the constant bartering and pushiness of the various locals, and the very brief and limited communication from our hosts / guides. A bit of humour goes a long way.

We really had an amazing time with Rashid on the morning desert safari. It started off a bit surprising since we were told pickup would be at 8am but to be ready by 7:45pm. So we planned to get up by 7:15am and get ready. However we got a call at 7:10 saying please be ready at 7:30am which caused a lot of morning rush with a young kid. Because of request to pickup someone else too. But other than this hiccup once we actually got picked up everything was really really good. Rashid took very very good care of us and made sure we had an amazing time. He was very kind to take great pictures for us, told us we did not have to give in to any haggling by vendors, made time for our family to enjoy some other activities like ATV and even dropped us off at the restaurant we wanted after the trip instead of our hotel. He was very professional and we are grateful we booked this tour.

Our driver Mian Sajid contacted us to advise pick up time and arrived promptly. He collected another couple on the way to the desert, showing us points of interest on the way. Mian was very friendly and remained our driver/guide for the duration of the trip. You have the option to go quad biking (at an extra cost) and the local shop to purchase head scarves, which I would recommend as very windy on the dunes. We thoroughly enjoyed the 4x4 sand dune ride where we stopped to do sand boarding and take pictures. We were then taken to the BBQ and show, where food was plentiful and varied. Henna, camel ride, dancing, fire act and belly dancing followed.
All in all a great day out. Thank you Mian😄

Had a fabulous time on the Dubai Red Dune Desert Safari. Opted for Dream Journey as the reviews were better, even though our hotel was offering a similar experience through another company. Special thanks to our safari guide, Bishi, who made the experience very enjoyable. Booked the experience online and couldn’t fault the process. Kept informed throughout via email of the itinerary and useful tips, our guide messaged me on the day with details of the pick up time and again closer to the time with details of the vehicle registration. Vehicle was comfortable and fully air-conditioned. When we arrived at the destination, Bishi explained to us what was included in the package that we had booked and informed us that we could purchase tickets for the quad bike or buggy as extras if we wished to. There was absolutely no pressure to do so. The dune bashing was amazing and praise has to be given to Bishi for his excellent driving skills. Given the opportunity to take photos on the dunes with help from Bishi on capturing a great shot! The sand boarding was fun and the camel ride was a first for me. The food at the BBQ was plentiful and the fire dancing and belly dancing was fabulous. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it’s definitely worth trying if you are ever in Dubai.

We went on a this desert safari to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our guide for the evening was Bishi. He did an outstanding job from beginning to end. Bishi was so professional at the same time he made us laugh throughout the tour. He answered all of our questions and guided us throughout the journey. He even made a special birthday shout out for my husband before the end of the safari. We really enjoyed our time on this desert safari and would definitely recommend anyone who hasn't had this experience to give it a try.

Simply the whole experience start to finnish was amazing, iv been on dessert safaris before and they are all fundamentally the same. The only difference is the host/driver and on this trip we were very lucky to have Mr Muhammad.
The Trip started with a message from Mr Muhammad to inform us he was on route to our hotel and updated us as he got closer. We were greeted by a very enthusiastic welcome. We were joined by another couple Mel and Ariani and Mr Muhammed using his unique sense of Humour broke the ice between my family and the Mel and Ariani.
From the Moment we left the hotel grounds he was like a tour guide of Dubai informing us about landmarks and developments and what was taking place within Dubai. Upon nearing the meeting point where we were to join up with the rest of the convoy Muhammed informed us of the itinerary.
Muhammad organised the hire of a ATV while he and the other drivers prepared the vehicles to go off road.
After our little stopover we headed out on to the dunes and me and my son were sat at the back and all I can say it was one hell of a ride.
Muhammad had been driving as a Safari driver for 10 years plus and it showed his handling of the vehicle and navigation was impeccable.
We also got the feeling Muhammed was not just a liked individual within our car but he was engaging with anyone who he came across regardless of they were from our tour our another.
Muhammad was as it turned out a man of many skills, beyond the Dakar dessert race driver he was a photographer and a natural entertainer with charm.
After the bash thru the dunes and "photo shoot"
We headed to the camp site where we were given opportunity to ride camels and take photos once more.
We were taken to our seating with a cup of khawa and a donut like dessert. We then sat as a few different types of dances took place with food served inbetween. While everyone was enjoying the entertainment we were suddenly wrapped in a blanket as I looked up it Muhammed who in a camp of maybe 200 had gone and got blankets for the 5 in his car.
Like I said every safari is good but what makes it memorable is the people and Muhammad was the man to make it perfect.
I would recommend this tour group and if possible ask for Muhammad he will entertain you from start to finnish.

Yes. They stop at a market and it has quad rentals and some buggy rentals. We were picked at our hotel, when you inquire they ask you what hotel right away. You can ask to just do BBQ, but your whole pick up would have to be doing the same.

We were collected from the hotel next door to Rui, we were collected around 2.15 and got back around 10pm - it was plenty long enough to enjoy everything
