- 384sineadg0 contributionsGreat tour guide which makes a difference. Would strongly recommend DarkoDarko was a great tour guide. A lot of time spent at the fortress Lovrijenac which was good as it wasn’t that busy. It was hard to follow once we got to the old town as it is crowded. Visit to lokum was a great way to finish it off. Would recommend getting Dubrovnik pass in advance - same price as city walls entry and also gives you entry into the fort for this tour and a discount on the boat to lokum.Written October 21, 2024
- jilynb100 contributionsNew to GoT but this tour made it interesting.Plenty of photo opportunity with scenes from the GoT. Great views from the fortress and enjoyed the boat ride to Lokrum island. Tour was relaxed and not rushed. Worth doing.Written October 17, 2024

Absolutely fantastic tour of the walls by our guide Jelena today. She was so knowledgable and passionate about the history of the Old Town and of Croatia. She helped us understand and enjoy walking the walls in a way that simply would’ve be possible without a guide. Worth every penny!
We were aware from the outset that the price of the tour doesn’t include entry to the walls. If you are going to pay to walk the walls then we would 100% recommend that you pay the little bit extra to have a guide like Jelena bring them to life for you.

Davor was a very informative and engaging host for our early bird tour of the walls.
It was very clear that we had paid for the guide and the walls were extra (the ticket lasts all day and gives free access to some museums and other attractions) We were slightly concerned about finding Davor in such a busy area, but there was no problem, his purple balloon was obvious and impossible to miss.
Throughout the 2+hrs tour Davor passed over his knowledge of Dubrovniks history, the walls, Dubrovnik today and answered our questions on Croatia and its most recent history.
It really brought the walls and city to life and to help us understand how it got to be the city we all visit today.
Dubrovnik is beautiful, the restoration and preservation of centuries of history amazing, and Davor really helped us get the most from our visit.

As September days quickly become hot and humid, we decided on this tour as the perfect option, and arrived on time at 8am at the meeting point.
Davor, our guide, was engaging and had a remarkable knowledge of Croatian/ Dubrovnik history. He injected the tour with his personality and humour, which made for a memorable experience.
The tour itself is hard going on the calf muscles and feet so trainers or comfy walking shoes are recommended. There are over a thousand steps to negotiate, up and down, which are worn and uneven. Definitely take a hat.
If you are lucky enough to get Davor as your guide then you are definitely on a winner
Make sure you also buy your City Walls entry tickets before getting to the tour meeting point, as the Get Your Guide cost only covers the tour guides services and not entry to the City Walls.
There are a couple of cafes and toilets at the mid-point of the tour which was a relief. The tour lasted 2 and 1/2 hours.
This was one of our best tourist experiences during our stay in Dubrovnik.

Early morning start at 8am was perfect…we thought it was too early but we beat the rush and the heat. Even though we are used to hot weather at home it would be uncomfortable if too hot or busy on the wall. We had a great guide Monica and it also was a bonus that our tour group all got along very well. Views were sensational and we learnt a lot of history along the way. Only suggestion to improve would be that it was not clear to us which tour guide was ours by the sign she was holding compared to our booking confirmation. Other than that it was fantastic and well worth the cost. PS was clearly communicated that there was an extra cost to enter the wall

My family and I took the sunset walk with Darko on our first night in Dubrovnik. We were told in advance it would be a small group but it turned out to be just the two of us. Darko was really patient with us as we took the full two hour walk and answered our (many) questions about the history of the walls and the city through the ages. It was a real pleasure and his passion for history really came through. I would recommend this tour for anyone though please note that it does involve walking almost non stop (although in our case at a more leisurely pace) and there are many steps, at various heights. The weather when we went was really windy but the views are absolutely worth it. Thanks Darko :)

Our guide, Jelena, was fantastic and well worth the price of the tour. As others have mentioned the tour does not include pricing for the walls which is definitely steep but so be it. Jelena added a ton of context about the walls but also of the city and its landmarks and of Croatia in general which was informative and valuable. I don't see how you would get all of that from walking the walls on your own. Sunset was a wonderful time to go - very interesting to see how the light changes the way the city looks. Highly recommended

I cannot recommend booking this city wall walking tour enough! We booked the evening tour (5pm) and even though it was hot, the afternoon sun was setting by the time we wrapped up and the temperature was pleasant. We were also the only ones that booked the tour so it ended up being a private tour. Mihaela was such a delightful guide we couldn’t have lucked out any better. She was well spoken, friendly, and so very knowledgeable on the history Croatia and Dubrovnik. We booked this only 24 hours ahead of time as our plans originally were to just walk around the city. I’m SO happy we booked this tour as we learned an incredible amount of information and history about Dubrovnik. Book this now and if you can, request Mihaela to be your guide.

Early morning tour was great review of the history, the beautiful views of the old city of Dubrovnik before it got busy with many people. The guide was from the city and very knowledgeable about many things including referral to restaurants and boat rental. He was a wonderful guide!

Ivana was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and was more than happy to answer any questions and also gave us some great tips for the rest of our stay. One of our party had a bad knee but she was very patinet and never felt like we were being rushed. Would definitely recommend. City walls tickets need to be purchased separately and saves time if you do beforehand.

The tour itself was fabulous and our guide was lovely. Just note that this tour does not include entrance to the city walls which you have to buy separately. There are many steps to climb which some people may find challenging. Overall would recommend as you are given a lot of interesting information about the city and the walls which you wouldn’t otherwise know.

Hi does this include the price to enter the walls ? Or is that extra to the €20
Written September 12, 2022
Extra. You can buy the visit Dubrovnik day pass for the same price as just the wall entry, so I’d recommend doing that.

We would also have two children under 7 with us, is that a problem?
Written June 2, 2019
Hi, sorry for a delayed response. It is not an arduous tour and children would not be a problem. It is a very interesting and fun tour.
