    What to Expect
Good wine is one of the most recognizable symbols of Dalmatia in the world. This Split wine tasting experience gives you the opportunity to experience some authentic Dalmatian wines set among the magical ambiance of the historic Diocletian's Palace. As you taste you'll be led by a sommelier from the Diocletian's Wine House Restaurant, offering an excellent opportunity to expand your gastronomic knowledge and taste Dalmatia "the right way." As the Latin saying goes, "In wine, there is truth" (In vino veritas).

While you are getting acquainted with the oenological heritage of Dalmatia, your slow cooking Dalmatian "Peka" meal will be prepared. Peka is a baked dish made with meat or fish and vegetables, cooked in a pot or a tray. The cooking vessel is put into the embers of a fireplace to warm up. In many houses here in Dalmatia, especially in the countryside, locals have a special place in their barn or at the ground floor of the house for preparing Peka. Baking meat, seafood and veggies under a cooking vessel covered in embers is a unique technique found mostly in Dalmatia.

We had a lovely evening we were the only 2 people booked so it felt even more special. The young lady was very knowledgeable about the wines and we found it very interesting. The food was lovely.

We enjoyed a wine tasting with Dalmatians cured meats and cheeses appetizer followed by peka dinner, which was cooked to perfection. I had octopus and my husband veal. Service was attentive and prompt. Highly recommended.

This was a great evening with wonderful food and wine. The restaurant immediately sat us and started with the wine tasting shortly after sitting down. The front of the restaurant is glass so you can see the surrounding buildings in the palace. It's a cool experience.

The food was passable but definitely nothing special. Found it kind of mushy and not tons of flavour. The wine we tasted was very good. I wouldn’t recommend booking the meal and tasting. You can stop by and have a tasting any time and they have food pairings for a reasonable

We had a very good time. The service was great, dinner was very good. Food was served with enough time to savor the appetizers, wine and then the main dish. It would have been great if a dessert was included in the meal. The Peka dinner was amazing and had lots of flavor. We
