Strong level of fitness is required. We start this hike early, we believe this hike is much better early in the morning. The views are better, there are more chances of seeing wildlife, the weather is much nicer and there is less people. Volcan Santa Ana is the highest volcano in El Salvador. Its an active volcano with a crater of 3kms of circumference and 400mts deep. Get ready for beautiful trails in the evergreen forest mixed with volcanic rock and pyroclastic material closer to the summit. The active crater  plus the view of the other volcanoes and the Pacific Ocean, probably the best view in the whole country. Enjoy different temperatures and be prepared for cold winds, lots of sun or rain depending the season.
