The experience was amazing, the views are so wonderful and the tour guide Alex is super friendly and helpful! If you are into nature and want to feel good for an entire day book this trip! The food provided was super good, don't waste the opportunity and try unique food in a unique location!

We are experienced trail hikers and I would rate this trail as moderate. Not a lot of inclines, but uneven/rocky path. We were fortunate it was dry. Wear good hiking shoes or boots with treads.
A great intro to the mountains, you walk along a river path at the bottom of a gorge that opens up to a blue/green lake. The pictures are very accurate.
Lovely lunch provided. Alex was a wonderful host and guide. He knows the area well and answered a lot of our questions about local history and culture.
Pickup location is very easy to get to no matter where you are staying in the city as it is right beside the metro.
Would 100% book future trips with OnAdventure!

An adventurous walk alongside & across a wide river to a beautiful lake. The terrain is varied & difficult without walking poles. There is a charge.

Every adventure is special! There are always new locations that are visited with new interesting people, not a mundane cycle! The outdoor adventure leader makes the whole journey super safe for everyone, is patient and never loses control--a must in every adventure. Fun, well researched and conducted tours, always with great people that tend to return often. Coming back to the same tours is always a pleasure, the experience is worth doing it again.

Hiking through Zanoaga Gorge was beautiful and offered an escape from the high temperatures of Bucharest in summer. The trail was not very difficult and included picturesque bridges, crystal clear waterfalls (that you can drink from!), and an abandoned hydroelectric power plant built into the canyon walls.
Our guide, Alex, was very friendly and brought along a lovely picnic to eat on the trail. It included food like homemade Schnitzel, cheese, fresh fruits and vegetables, his mom's blueberry cookies, and Țuică (a traditional Romanian digestif) made by his grandmother! Alex was very personable and we had pleasant conversations throughout the trip.
If you are looking for a hike in the Carpathians, I highly recommend you book with Alex! He has been hiking in the area since his childhood and can show you many interesting areas off the main trail.
