MachuPicchu Latin America Tours saved the day with an unforgettable Machu Picchu experience!
Jun 2021
After arriving in Cusco from Lima, my tour operator cancelled my trip to Machu Picchu the night before we were supposed to leave! I frantically booked this similar trip and could not have been happier with Freddy and the team at MachuPicchu Latin America Tours. Freddy, the owner of the company, personally handled my reservation and was able to secure a driver, guides, train tickets, and entrance to Machu Picchu for the next day. I ended up with a private tour with very knowledgeable and professional guides - shout out to Efrain, Michael, and Jordan! The first day we drove through Sacred Valley from Cusco, stopping at several Incan sites, shared a roast guinea pig (hard to describe the flavor but have to try it...), and tried some local chicha cerveza - these were "off the beaten path" experiences that I would not have found otherwise. Each stop included detailed narration of the local culture, history, and Incan civilization. Took the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes which is a really unique town built up around the railroad and serves as the jumping off point to reach Machu Picchu. The next morning, my guide Michael met me at 5:30 am to be on the first bus to Machu Picchu....we were among the first few to enter the site for the day and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. There are really no words to describe seeing this wonder of the world for the first time and Michael provided rich insight and answered questions enthusiastically. I was able to stay for a few hours and explore on my own before returning by train, bus, and a flight the next day to Lima (it is quite a haul...definitely plan for at least 2 days from Cusco so you do not have to rush).

Because I had a flight back to the US two days later, I needed a negative COVID antigen test...Freddy personally scheduled a COVID test and he and his driver took me to the clinic for the test on the way to the airport - unbelievable customer service! They stayed in contact throughout my trip via WhatsApp and accommodated my schedule so well. It was a trip I will never forget and I plan to bring my family back next time with Freddy and his team again.

It really is an ideal time to visit some of these sites as COVID restrictions begin to life as the crowds are still sparse. Local hotels and restaurants have great deals to attract tourists and you get to visit sites like these at peak times during the year without the peak crowds! Peru recently lifted the quarantine requirement for visitors so as long as you get a negative antigen test prior to arrival and before departure, you are able to move around the country without additional testing. There is still a mask and face shield requirement for public buildings and transportation. Social distancing, hand washing, and additional sanitation were being used everywhere I went. The COVID rates are currently quite high in Peru, however, I had been vaccinated and felt it was low-risk though obviously everyone needs to think through their own risk factors/tolerance before travelling internationally under the circumstances. But if you plan to make the trip I highly recommend going with MachuPiccu Latin America tours!!

totally worth your time and money

I loved my Machu Pichu travel and especially the tour agents who helped with my transport between places.I particularly liked their help with transport.
My trip was a 3 day from usa and never did I miss any planned attraction.
The hotel accommodation at machu pichu could have been better for the price value but I felt transport/tour agents justified it.

A remarkable journey
Jan 2020
Thanks to the team of Machu Picchu Latin America for a well organized, beautiful and pleasant two day trip to Machu Picchu. I’ve enjoyed it a lot. Worked better than expected. Ps: upgrade to the train with panoramic images was a good idea, especially due to the high mountains this makes a lot of sense. Turn off your smartphone and enjoy nature.

Terrible trip with Rasgos.
Jan 2020 • Friends
Our trip was not good. High price, dismal hostel accomodations (6-bunk room, including men, 5 Solas for a thin towel, no meals included, bus rides through a beautiful canyon in the dark both ways, 8 hours to kill waiting for the trains, dropped off in the middle of town at 1030 pm. I was, frankly, shocked. With what we paid we should have comfortable accomodations, a free lunch, and a reasonable schedule. Also, we were told the wrong address for the first meeting - 172 when actual address was 136. Surely you can do better.

Dear Mrs. Diane, I think this review is for another company. we are MACHUPICCHU LATIN AMERICA not Rasgos. 1, We offer similar program called 2 day Sacred Valley and Machupicchu by train as many local companies. 2, We provide a single room for single travellers or double room for couples and we use 3 star hotels for this tour and provide 4 and 4 star hotels up to request. 3: The meeting poing for the orientation or briefing is not in our office. We alway visit all our clients hotels with no exception for our meetings. 4, Our train time allways depart from Ollantaytambo at 4:36pm arrivinh in aguas Calientes town at 6:10pm. On the way back always use 2:30pm train arriving in Cusco at 6:00pm. For people that at Waynapicchu we use the return train at 4:12pm arriving in Cusco at 8:00pm. 5: the average size of your groups are 8 to 12 people. With all my respect, it seems that you reviewd the wrong company. we are MACHUPICCHU LATIN AMERICA. Warm regards Fredi

Great tour and very accomodating.
Jan 2020 • Couples
The day of our tour my partner was feeling sick in the morning, so I met the man who was picking us up from the hotel and let him know and asked if we could meet the tour group later in the day (so my partner could have some time to feel better). He got in contact with the organiser and we organised an alternative pick up time to meet the group later. They were very accomodating and it meant we didnt miss out on going to Machu Piccu. The tour Ollantaytambo was great, the guide gave us great insights and the tour of Machu Piccu was also amazing. The organisation of the whole tour was great, all tickets and explanations were given very clearly. Would highly recommend!

A great trip to Machu Picchu but not the accommodation
Dec 2019 • Couples
Actual the tour itself is fine. Except the one night accommodation at the foot of Machu Picchu. The hotel was absolutely awful, it is a tiny little room without air conditioning, the bathroom’s window is face to the corridor, and you can hear whatever happens in the corridor. Could not sleep until very late. The bed was clean, but there is a smell from the corner of the room.... anyway, I don’t know why it called three star hotel. The star must come from the sky..... apart from that, it was a great tour. I must say the hotel staffs are good. Just the facilities are shocking.

Wonderful experience
Dec 2019
All of our guides for this tour were excellent. Fabricio particularly stood out, he was our guide on the first day and was very knowledgeable and engaging. I want to give a shout out to Ignacio as well. He was our driver to and from the train station, he made sure were on time to every location. My sister left her favorite hat in the bus after he dropped us off at our hotel and within 30min Ignacio was back at our hotel with a smile on his face and her hat in hand. I highly recommend this company and this tour!
