Cusco by Night: Planetarium Cusco, Dinner, and Pisco Sour

Select Date and Travelers
2 travelers
This tour will take you to a local market and then out in the town of Cusco at night. We will meet up at your hotel and take you first for a tour of a local non-touristic market and then for a Pisco sour, the most typical cocktail of Peru. Then we will be transported to the Cusco Planetarium, located 15 minutes above the city. Here we will hear about how the Incas viewed the constellations and then we will get to go outside to look through the telescopes and stargaze. After the planetarium, we will return to Cusco and go out to a restaurant frequented by locals for the most popular dish of Peru: Pollo a la brasa, or blackened rotisserie chicken, which is eaten with salad and french fries and will have the most typical drink of Peru, Inca kola. We will finish the tour by walking around the Plaza de Armas (the main square) which is lit up beautifully at night and look at the statue of the emperor Pachacutec and learn about the history of the Incas in Cusco.
-Bring warm clothes.
  • Curated sampling of evening activities in Cusco led by a guide
  • See the Historic Center at night and listen to historical commentary
  • Planetarium show highlighting the starscape of the Southern Hemisphere sky
  • Included traditional Peruvian dinner and pisco sour
What to Expect
Begin your late-day tour with a stroll to the San Pedro Market, a hidden gem where the locals shop. Learn about the variety of native fruits and vegetables, taste some, and get a peek at traditional medicinal herb offerings. Head over to the main square to have a pisco sour (the national drink) and learn about Peru's pisco production.
The next stop is the planetarium, where you'll listen to a presentation from astronomers about the night sky in Peru. Get a chance to check out the Southern Hemisphere's constellations through the planetarium's powerful telescopes.
Wind up your evening tour of Cusco with a traditional Peruvian dinner and a walking tour of the historical center to see the city landmarks lit up dramatically for the night. If you find yourself indecisive or overwhelmed on what to do on your evenings in Cusco, this tour is for you.
