What to Expect
Day 1: Cusco to Malaga High Pass, Mountain Biking to Santa Maria Village and Rafting Activity (L/D)
After a hotel pickup between 6:40 - 7:00am, you will head on a 1.5-hour ride to Ollantaytambo. Here you can have a quick breakfast and buy snacks. Then, you'll continue for 1.5 hours more towards the Malaga High Pass (2.7-miles/4,350-meters) where your adventure begins. After a safety briefing, you will enjoy a thrilling 2.5-hour bike ride down into the lush and humid jungle. You will see Huamanmarka archaeological site along the way, before arriving to Santa Maria village at around 2:30pm. Here, you will enjoy a rafting adventure of 2.5 hours down Class III and IV rapids on the Urubamba River. You will spend the night at a basic, rustic guesthouse in Santa Maria.

Day 2: Trek to Santa Teresa Village (17 kms) (B/L/D)
After morning breakfast, you will enjoy a day of hiking through the jungle mountains to observe beautiful pristine landscapes, abundant flora and fauna and friendly local people. Halfway during the trek you will enjoy lunch and relax as you take in the fresh mountain air. In the afternoon, you will reach Santa Teresa village (1-mile/1,680-meters) where you will stay overnight in a guesthouse. (Optional hot springs at an extra cost).

Day 3: Zip-line Activity and Trek to Aguas Calientes (B/L/D)
Today, you will enjoy a 2-hour morning canopy excursion as you fly through the treetops on South America's highest and Peru's first canopy zip-line. Traverse over 1.5-miles (2,500-meters) of cables with the longest ride covering .25-miles (400-meters) and the highest at one-mile (150-meters) high. Then, you will hike for 3 hours down an easy trail along the train tracks from Santa Teresa to the Hydroelectric power station. Here, you will stop for lunch and then hike for 3 more hours on foot to reach Aguas Calientes town. You will spend the night at a cozy hotel for a well-deserved shower and good night's sleep.

Day 4: Machu Picchu and Return to Cusco (B)
You will take one of the first buses to Machu Picchu on a 25-minute ride so you can appreciate the citadel in the early morning light. You will then return to Aguas Calientes where you can explore the local marketplace right next to the train tracks and shop until the train whistle blows. Then, it's time to return to Ollantaytambo where you will take a bus for the last section of highway to Cusco and arrive at around 10:30pm. You will be dropped off at Plaza San Francisco.
