- taliag3800 contributionsAmazing experience~!I highly recommend "Wok 'n' Stroll" and our guide Jan for a great food tour experience in Singapore. He took us to some unique and lesser-known spots, shared the history and culture of the city, and introduced us to amazing flavours that we never would have discovered on our own. Jan's knowledge and ability to show us hidden gems made the tour unforgettable. Thanks, Jan, for a great food tour experience! We'll definitely be back for more!Written January 26, 2023
- Ron_Lyster0 contributionsUnique, delicious, and moreJan (pronounced "yawn") did a great job showing us many delicious, uniquely Singaporean dishes - dishes we would never have known about or tried without his skilled guidance. Jan weaves Singaporean culture and history into the story, and he is more than happy to answer your questions about Singapore (not just about food).Written December 10, 2022

- Huemul_Suizo0 contributionsOn the road with a chefLionel was not only knowledgeable guide (he is a chef and trains future food guides), but also a warm-hearted and accommodating one. He navigated us through the Little India and Kampong Glam areas, telling many stories, pointing out (and explaining) the street art to us - and, most importantly, introducing us to the rich food universe there. Some of the dishes and drinks were really special ones we wouldn't have tried on our own. A very (full)filling experience. Thank you!Written February 27, 2020

- lirangrinberg0 contributionsFantastic tour, Karni is hilarious, super knowledgeable and food was great! We were a group of six, taking a five hour culinary tour around Singapore. Karni is a phenomenal guide, super funny and energetic, brought us to the best authentic secretive food spots and dishes that the city has to offer. It was also including briefings on Singapore’s culture, history and more. This is by far the best thing you should do in Singapore. We’ve spent 6 days in the city and this was defiantly the highlight!Written January 9, 2020
- Lianagrim0 contributionsAmazing ExperienceWe chose to have a tour with the wonderful Karni Tomer food explorer, What can i say? It exceeded our expectations, not that we only tasted great food, we have also learned so much about the different cultures and history of Singapore. I most defintely recommend you to book a food tour with "wok and stroll" to learn so much and taste even more , which is a big add when wanting to get more from your trip in Singapore. Waiting for the next tour ill get to do with her when we will be back!Written January 4, 2020
- Donna W0 contributionsDeep dive into food and cultureMy partner and I make a point of doing a walking tour wherever we holiday, to learn about local culture and this tour did not disappoint. We were met by our guide Rahim and immediately delved into local history as a background to the places and food we were about to experience. He is so passionate and engaging and the culinary knowledge and tips were so interesting. Rahim took the time to understand what we wanted the most from the tour and tailor accordingly, which was easy as there were only the two of us. Delightful company and great food and knowledge made for a terrific experience. Highly recommended!Written January 3, 2020
- cindywE4616SE0 contributionsMs WilliamsThis was the best food tour I have ever taken. My guide, Kim Ping, was awesome. She was an expert on the crazy rich asians book, food, and Singapore culture. She was like our friend 5 minutes into the trip. We had so much fun at the hawker center and our guide was so willing to accommodate my daughter being a vegetarian. We enjoyed going to eat a Singapore tradition—chili crab! Then we got to experience the rooftop bar at the Marina Bay Sands. I loved the tour and highly recommend it —ask for tour guide Kim Ping!Written January 2, 2020
- asafshafrir0 contributionsA great experienceTours are a tricky business, two identical tours can be one a success and the other a bust. It depends on the guide, the knowledge and the attitude. We joined the tour as a couple with a child and it was great. The friendly guide Raheem was knowledgeable, funny and very friendly. The atmosphere was good, lot's of conversations laughs and good food. Highly recommended!Written December 30, 2019

What a thoroughly enjoyable tour with Kim - she is a font of knowledge and really interesting and engaging. We sampled many local foods including Durian (not as bad as people make out) and found out so much about the local area where the Chinatown Hawker Centre was located. You have to be prepared to feel challenged with some food offerings but that is part of the experience - it is absolutely fine to say you don't like a particular dish.
Wear something cool and take an extra bottle of water as it can get quite hot and sticky - as Singapore does. Enjoy

My partner and I and two teenagers did our Chinatown walking tour on our first day in Singapore just over a week ago - an excellent way to familiarise ourselves with the food and eating habits of the locals we thought and we were right. Our lovely guides Kim Ping and Pamela were punctual, knowledgeable and ready and willing to answer all our questions. Their knowledge of the local food scene extended to beyond that of the tour - happily giving us recommendations for places for other types of foods we were keen to try but which time and our full stomachs did not allow us to achieve in the time allocated for the tour. The teenagers gave it the thumbs up even though their taste buds were challenged by some foods they had never seen before. Highly recommended and we would be happy to do another Wok 'n' Stroll tour in the future!!
