- 0 contributionsDisappointing Second TripAfter taking the duck tour back in January and enjoying it, when we found ourselves back in Singapore with friends on November 11th we booked the 10.00 am trip. There seemed to be two differences to our enjoyment of the experiences. First trip in January 2023 we sat at the front left next to the guide who was a man. Second time we sat middle to back and the guide was a woman. It was so noisy that we couldnt hear most of her commentary which I am sure was good but literally couldn't hear over the noise of the engine. She was quiet when the duck was stuck at lights when we may have heard her then started talking when the duck started moving again. We felt very sorry for our friends who didn't enjoy the experience either. Could you not consider individual headsets with commentary ? Would not recommend again as didn't realise where you sat on the duck would change your experience so much.Written November 14, 2023
- liora1730 contributionsTerrible experienceWe confused about the time of the check in and although the next trip was almost empty they crew insist that we will buy new tickets. Not recommend at all !!!Written October 18, 2022
- 0 contributionsMisinformed and crass tour guideI am a Singaporean who has been living overseas for a while so when I brought my boyfriend here for the first time this week and he wanted to go to the duck tour, I happily obliged. The staff on the ground was friendly and the line was organized but once we were seated and the tour guide started talking, it was a complete disaster. A mid 50s short hair lady was our tour guide and she was so singlish it was hard for even me to understand. My boyfriend (a native english speaker) needed her singlish translated so that he understood what she was saying. She doesn’t finish sentences or thoughts and is very hard to follow. The most mortifying parts were: - She asked us where we were from, she pointed at people and straight up guessed where they were from and I think she was waiting to be corrected. Pointing at people and saying ‘China?’ and then having them shake their head and say they’re from Korea just doesn’t seem right to me. - She constantly referred to the late prime minister Lee Kuan Yew as the ‘President of Singapore’. - The casino in the marina bay sands was only referred to as ‘Las Vegas Casino’ ??????? She even pulled out some stats about how it was the biggest in the world (it definitely is not) - She started telling us the story of how Singapore got its name. At the same time, she decided to play some music since we were all looking bored. She starts narrating a story about Sang Nila Utama while playing an NDP song, with both her phone and mouth simultaneously pressed against the mic. The story is cut short by her own pointing and babbling about the HDB buildings we see in the distance. - Our boat was full of mostly non native english speakers who checked out of this godawful commentary and someone yawned and she playfully berated them. Unfortunately when an aunty yells at you in broken english, it is neither funny or entertaining. She then clarified by yelling ‘joking! joking!’ and while the message is clear, the tone is not. I’m not sure if they understood what was happening but they definitely did not seem pleased. - I was very confused by how she said tipping was customary, it might be customary on duck tours but she made it sound like something you just do in Singapore. It definitely sounded like she was misleading us on purpose for her own gain. Her commentary honestly ruined the experience for me. It was irritating and made me embarrassed to think that this is how some tourists will remember Singapore. She needs training and some fact checking. The way she speaks does not make her suitable as a tour guide, not because of her use of Singlish but her fragmented sentences and the confusing phrasing of stories. Especially because duck tours is more expensive than other attractions, I would never recommend this to someone else. The Singapore flyer gives you a great view and pre recorded commentary for a few bucks less. River taxis are cheaper, a ticket to the zoo or night safari is better. You could even go to the water park and still have money left for lunch with the price of one ticket to duck tours.Written July 28, 2022
- 0 contributionsOne word: Excellent! My family and I had a great experience on the DUCKtours on Day 2 of the Lunar New Year. The two Captains and the guide, Sam, were fantastic. Sam was knowledgeable and able to engage the passengers on board. The two Captains were skillful and also allowed brief moments around the Merlion for photo-taking. Thumbs up for the excellent 50-min ride!Written February 14, 2021
- melindayeo19820 contributionsRaining. But fun filled experience! It was raining but I did not want to disappoint my kids. We went ahead with the tour. Though we can't really see anything due to low visibility but our tour guide Sam did a fabulous job in explaining in detail of what we were about to see. Sam was very engaging especially towards my children. We were given key chains for answering the correct answers. It was raining but the weather was absolutely cooling and we enjoyed as a family. I will come back again and hope that Sam will tour us again. Thank you for the fun filled experience!Written September 12, 2020

- Kelly G0 contributionsFirst night in SingaporeAfter reading several reveiws on trip advisor, and going on a hop on hop off tour in Vegas, I decided to take the tour on the first night we arrived. My way of thinking was that we would get to see an overveiw of the city and go back to what we wanted to look at more. I'm so glad we did. Alfie was great, so relatable and fun. Kept us on schedual and even though there was only 12 of us (due to the start of the COVID-19 virus) he made the tour very personal and he definately made it more enjoyable. The super trees were the highlight for me. I would have gone back another night if we were there longer but we only had two night stop over. The stop over at china town was enough for us to look at the street, take some photos and use our $5 voucher for some drinks. Our other friends we were traveling with didn't like being hassled so didn't spend their voucher. I didn 't think it was so bad. Final stop at the markets was long enough to walk around and I'm glad I bought 5 for $10 magnets as they were $8 then next day at Sentonsa. All in all I would definatley recommend this tour.Written March 27, 2020
- Peter T0 contributionsA very good way to see Singapore! We actually bought tickets which enabled us to go on three different bus tours of Singapore over two consecutive days, which surely must have covered most of Singapore. The great thing about these kind of bus tours are great for wheelchair users, but the buses also have complete (and helpful) commentaries available through ear phones in ten or so different languages. In addition you can get off at any ‘stop’ that takes your fancy, and get back onto any bus at whatever time you like. The only drawback is that obviously they are very touristy.Written January 3, 2020

- Michelle H0 contributionsGreat tour for priceThis is an ideal tour for adults and kids, offers loads of information about the city and its attractions. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The tour goes for approx 1 hour on land and water. Easily accessible from Sun Tec city building 1 - near H & M store.Written September 29, 2019
- Bunianese0 contributionsTook tour again after 2 yearsWe had a great time because the guide is so informative. Although we are locals and this is our 2nd time onboard the Duck tour, we find the ride refreshing as we took at a different time slot than the previous tour. Hence, the view and the background sky differs greatly and also with the upcoming F1 set-up, it was definitely worth it!Written September 8, 2019
- DKtoAD0 contributionsBoringWe were planning to do a "bum boat" tour, but came across the "Original Duck Tour", and thought we could save some time and walking by doing this sea/land combo tour. Oh, I wish we had not done it! First of all: the vehicle has no ac or fans, so you better bring some water. Second: the "guide" was so dull I thought I was going to fall asleep. As the engine was extremely loud, we could hardly hear, what she was saying, but what we did hear was: "this is the Singapore Flyer", "This is Marina Bay Sands hotel, a five star hotel", "this is Gardens by the bay" "This is Marina Bay Sands Hotel", "This is Merlion", "This is Marina Bay Sand hotel" (I think she said: Marina Bay Sands Hotel 25 times!) No stories or historical facts, no fun or anecdotes. What a waste of time and money!Written August 20, 2019
- brulei5200 contributionsReview from a SingaporeanTo start with, Singaporean has discounted rate by presenting your NRIC. A good deal there. I was there with my Chinese friends, so we opt for a Chinese tour. Warning: be there early, Chinese tour queue is Long 30min before time, you might not be sitting with your friends if you come later. Be on time, guide won’t wait even for a min late. It is a opened air bus, so expect the heat and be a little smart to avoid lunchtime when the heat is the worst, this is Singapore right. Engine noise is bad, so your ears might hurt when the bus is on road. Have to say, the view is superb!!! As a Singaporean, I’m proud of what we have built over such a short time. Worst thing is, the local guide - Raymond. First, his level of mandarin is so bad that I don’t even understand (let alone the Chinese). Second, he mumbled all his words together and speak soft (like we can hear from the engine noise). Third, he kept complaining about our government??? Like seriously, in front of our tourists?? Fourth, he kept making small talks like how veggie increased prices over the last twenty years, how he was in national service, how tourists sld avoid staying MBS since the pool will always be crowded and all diseases will be contained in the water?? If you can’t be a good guide to introduce our beautiful Garden by the Bay, how Singapore was once a fishing village and turn into a worldwide biz hub, then maybe you should NOT talk at all Raymond. Piece of advise, hope the English tour guide will make things better. After all, everyone is here to have a good time in SingaporeWritten August 15, 2019

To be avoided strictly. We had booked this tour for 11 AM via Klook and the instruction said to report to Temasek Tower 2 (Suntec City). We reached the place at 10:50 am and waited in front of the tower and called. It went to an automated response. waited for some more time and when we enquired with someone at mall, they directed us to a small shop withing 20 feet of the entrance which was the place where we had to report to. The staffer "Dwayne"said we had forefited our seats and refused to provide his managers number. Eventually we got the managers number and the lady offered us 20% discount if we paid and booked again. They refused rides for a later time. I also observed that our seats had been sold to others when the ride returned at 12 PM. Duck tours took us on a ride for sure. Lost more than 160 dollars. Stay away for the rudeness and unfreiendly behavior to paying customers.

A good way to look around the city and sail on Singapore River at the same time. Seats have minimal leg room and when full, you are tightly packed in- 2 sets of 3 seats in each row. If sitting against a life bouy, the metal bracket digs into your body making for an unpleasant trip- must keep your arm up out of the way the entire time. Commentary informative but difficult to understand at times due to microphone distortion. A little different to a Singapore River tour as you see more of the waterway, but if you've done one you don't need to do the other.

It was our first time on the Duck Tours and it was surprisingly fun! We enjoyed viewing iconic landmarks such as MBS and the SG Flyer in an unconventional way - both on land and water. This allowed for many phototaking moments. The pace of the tour was just right too, and it's amazing that we got to view so many attractions in such a short time! I would also like to commend our guide, Salim who made our experience a memorable one. Salim is a passionate and friendly guide! He engaged both young and old on the tour with many interesting facts about the landmarks that we were viewing, as well as played a mini trial game with us. He is full of energy and we enjoyed listening to his sharings. Such tour guides definitely make a difference to these experiences. The Duck Tours is highly recommended!

A nice tour with some interesting facts about Singapore.
The amphibious vehicle was however extremely noisy. Even though the guide used microphone and loudspeaker she had to shout to make herself heard. if you go with younger children I´d suggest you give the earprotectors.

Hi 249tomasw, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
The DUCK vehicle which you were on were the 1960s - 1970s Vietnam-war amphibious vehicle and was retrofitted for sightseeing use. The "loud music" was due to the old engines which came with the vehicle.
We are constantly reviewing on measures to manage the "loud music" so as to improve the tour experience.
Thanks for your valuable feedback!

First time taking the duck tour and it is super nice and fun. My niece enjoyed herself very much, listening to information that we local might not know too.
Happy to get wet for people who sit closer to the sea, but nothing to be worried, it dried up quickly

We thought the tour was just average, it did a loop of the marina bay sands area it would have been nice not to have the same start and exit point so was a little bit repetitive city tour as well was a little boring. The tour guide was upbeat and friendly however the micro phone was too loud and he was a little repetitive with what sights he was talking about. It was only 1 hr so it killed a bit of time but nothing really to write home about.

The tour is worth doing as it provides the usual facts and figures as well as a way to orientate yourself within the city. It wasn't as good as some other duck tours we have been on around the world, the main issue being the difficulty hearing the guide over the bad speakers (contending with the loud engine) which in fairness was hindered by the language barrier (as accents make it harder to hear in such circumstances).
The one point I would make is that it's really not hard to find them in the shopping centre - I have no idea why everyone complains about that, I guess other people think it's OK to be late even though the terms clearly state you should arrive 30 mins prior to the tour to check in. Which gives plenty of time for the 2 mins it takes to find them inside Tower 2 (don't just wait outside!)

Because we were in Singapore for just 20 hours, we wanted to maximize our time. We could not do the nighttime zoo safari, so this seemed to be a good option for seeing Singapore by land and water. It was an interesting tour and worth the money. The sound system used by the guide was too loud and of poor quality.

Quick one hour water and land ride around Marina Bay and the surrounding land area.
Our tour guy was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history and area and I learned quite a bit new despite having already gone on some similar tours of the city.
You get some great views around the bay and they even take your picture for you which is nice. Just about an hour or so trip so can easily be slotted into your day. Kids will especially love it.

This is so over priced and very disappointing we waited for sometime then the trip was delayed by approximately 15 minutes so we didn’t get our 1 hour as advertised we were rushed in the water as they hurried back to ensure they made up the time for the next trip as they are supposed to leave on the hour. Not worth the money extremely noisy you can’t hear the commentary and as we didn’t have the full time missed the experience very disappointed grandma and grandchildren. Don’t waste your money plenty of other enjoyable experiences for the children in Singapore for less

Hi there... My husband & I will be holidaying in Singapore for 3 days from 13 June 2019, and were extremely disappointed, when I tried to book Duck Tour tickets, and was unable to do so. A large number of our friends have experienced this tour and absolutely 'demanded' that we do also. Just wondering if there is a waiting list whereby, if there is any cancellations, we would be able to still purchase tickets???? Sincerely hoping you can assist us Regards Wander81 :-)

It is fine if you don’t book in advance June is high season and they have one bus after another so you just get in the queue. They do first come first serve very well organised so I would not worry about it.

There is no pick up for the duck tour but you can get a hop on hop off tour bus which stops at the main transfer station where the duck tour is based.
