- nicosamneil0 contributionsExpensiveExpensive but if you got the money then try the experience, worth it for the extra money you have. Might be crowded on some daysWritten September 8, 2024

- emmanuellM8866XV0 contributionsSee the more famous landmarks of CebuCharmel was an amazing guide - aside from her knowledge of the history and venues, she also gave local inputs for tourists when asked. Thank you! Glad to have had a chance to see the famous landmarks in Cebu - Basilica de Sto Nino, Cathedral of Cebu, Cebu Monument, Magellans Cross and the Taoist Temple....just was not too interested in the oldest house - the Yap-San Diego House. It would also have been great to add the Temple of Leah to the itinerary. The weather was just a personal challenge because it was too hot for us (as should be expected during summer months). Suggestion: Maybe provide a free cold water bottle to provide relief?Written May 14, 2024
- J4937EWlucyn0 contributionsAbsolutely AstonishingHello team, Thank you so much for this tour. I was driven by Chennie and Carlo. They were so good and accomodating to my needs. Kept me entertained all day and drove me exactly where we needed to go swiftly and safely. The Tour it self was absolutely astonishing. It was a last minute decision for me to go on the this tour and I’m 100% do not regret it. Well worth it.Written May 2, 2023
- 00RSN000 contributionspriceyThe price per person was fifty-something dollars, if you were booking alone. I found it too high given that it only includes three short visits to three locations, They provide hotel pickups from sleeted locations, which is good.Written December 22, 2022

- José Torremadé B0 contributionsI am still waiting for the refundOSLOB WHALE SHARK ENCOUNTER SHARED TOUR BOOKING NO: 774491411 I had bought this tour from Cebu Trip Tours, which according to their website was with the possibility of cancellation and on February 13, 2020 I requested the cancellation. They replied that in 20-30 working day they would make the refund, but to date, it has not been made. I have been sending several emails, at first with a response apologizing and begging me to be patient that the refund would be made. More than 6 months have passed, they still do not refund the tour and now they do not even respond to my emails.Written August 31, 2020
- SKBritt0 contributionsGreat attractions but just hire a private car & driver.I have no complaints about the trip, I just think that having a guide and a driver was overkill and we probably therefore paid over the odds. The guide, lovely and polite as she was, added little to the experience as she actually slept more of the long journey than we did ourselves and didn't interact that much compared to other guides we have had. The driver on the other hand was an absolute star getting us there and back safely and in not too bad a time considering the distance/conditions/traffic. Unfortunately we couldn't do one of the islands due to rough water but the Sardine run was amazing to see. Wall to wall super shoals of sardines glimmering in the water, topped off with turtles too...and a few jelly fish, nothing too painful though. I do think they should start restricting numbers better as the area is full of boats coming and going with lots of none swimmers being towed around in the water with no control of their own. It felt a little like an accident waiting to happen. Kawasan falls is lovely, if a little underwhelming due to the crowds if I'm honest. Given it's massive build up I was just expecting something else, maybe we should have done the canyoning to get the full experience. The walk along the river to the falls is beautiful, the milky water beautiful too but there are many falls in Phillipines that are as if not more spectacular. Lunch was included and was plentiful and tasty fried chicken rice veg etc.Written March 5, 2020
- VictorM44210 contributions2 Top Attractions in CebuYou can swim with the whale sharks if you wish or stay on the boat for the elderly tourists. Either way it`s well worth a visit if you are in Cebu. It was quite a long trip to Kawasan Falls and we had to walk a long uphill route to get there from the road. But it was worth the effort just to experience the beauty of this place.Written February 29, 2020
- Tom B0 contributionsMactan Statue areaNot really a interesting place to go. It depicts the battle of Mactan with Magellan. Eateries around there, nothing special. small souvenir market on the square. Slums around that place.AirBnB nearby with nothing special neither.Written February 20, 2020
- gopher71990 contributionsMemorable experience viewing whalesharksWonderful opportunity to see the whalesharks up close. You get approximately 30 minutes in the water with the whalesharks moving back and forth in front of you eating. Expect to get kicked by a few other snorkelers. Kawasan falls are nice but nothing too remarkable. Recommendations for those considering this tour: It's a long day with a departure time of 3 a.m. If you are a solo traveler (like me), you will need to buy two tickets...which is understandable considering I was the only one on the tour...ended up being a private tour. Watershoes and underwater go pro (for those comfortable with free diving) are recommended for Oslob. I suggest keeping the time in Kawasan falls to just 40 min (excluding lunch) and requesting to visit Simala shrine on the way back to Cebu. This shrine looks like something out of Disney world and is worth a visit on your return. I was charged $10 to add this stop to the itinerary. Even with the stop at the Simala shrine, I was back at my hotel in Cebu by 2 p.m.Written February 4, 2020
- emmagC5126FJ0 contributionsThree hour trip in cebu cotyThis was a waste of money. The guide didn’t tell us anything about the places we visited. She just dropped us of and then we had to walk around looking for our self while she was sitting in the shadow on a chair. So it was definitely not a guided tour and it would have been a lot cheaper to just take a taxi and read about the places online - like we did anyways.Written January 26, 2020
- Garf390 contributionsGreat experienceI was picked up at 4am by my guide Chenerie and driver for the day Dado. It’s worth pointing out that the trip is solo for your group only. I was traveling solo so bought the minimum of two tickets and had the whole tour to myself. The experience was fantastic and ticked the bucket list delivering what it said and more, 3 turtles, sea snake etc. What really stood out for me was the first class service. Chanerie was an absolutely fantastic guide who made sure all was perfect and is very knowledgeable on the area and her country’s history filling the trip with little pieces of information on language, culture and history. Your very lucky if she is your group guide. As a driver Dado was faultless. A smooth ride except on the bumpy mountain roads and good company too. If your thinking of booking with this company I can’t recommend it highly enough. Ten out of ten.Written January 21, 2020
- Tal C0 contributionsShort VisitGo to the museum instead! When traveling in Asia, I like to have a guide to show me around and tell me about the history. What I didn't know, is that in most museums in the Philippines there is a local guide (for FREE) that will show you around and will tell you about the history and museum. The driver was nice and the guide was knowledgeable, but they sit and talk among them and drove us to the temple and a museum, where the local guide from the museum showed us around and told us about the museum and the history. You can do this tour by yourself. Most museums are free or very cheap.Written January 16, 2020

I was in Cebu for work from late April to Mid-May. I took a one day trip to Oslob and Sumilon. I booked the tour with Southwind Travel and Tours. They pick up at hotel and bring you back. I was the only one on the trip so i had the guide, Rachel and the driver all to myself! They were both awesome.
Cebu to Oslob is about 2.5 hours in the morning. You get there around 7am. Put on the life jacket and away you go. Six tourists to a boat. Two guides. They paddle you out to the Whaleshark feeding area, where a 'feeder' is throwing food over the sides of his canoe. The Whaleshark comes up, opens its huge mouth and inhales. You have stairs off the small boat to ease yourself into the water and you can swim right up to the Whaleshark, you cannot, or SHOULD NOT touch them. You can get pretty close as they just ignore you. It is an impressive creature! Good experience. Great for all ages. But keep in mind, "Whaleshark Tourism" is big business and there can be lots of people, I was lucky on the day i was there, it was only half packed i was told. Still when you look underwater you see scuba divers swimming around along with some pretty colorful fish. The whole experience last about 30 minutes. Water looks like its 30-40 feet deep and you are 50 yards from shore. There can be 10 or so people with you in the water at any given time. No everyone jumps in. You can take off the life jacket if you want.
Then its onto Sumilon Island.
Small Island, ten minute drive from Oslob. There is a small pier with a Tourist station (with bathroom) owned by the Bluewater Resort on Sumilon. Southwind Travel has an agreement with them to use the facilities. Its a 15 minutes boat ride to the Island. Great place. On the south side of the Island you have a sand bar with very gentle waves and very shallow water. Great for all ages. That is where most people hang out. I stayed practically all day on the north side where there is a marine preserve. Very nice snorkeling, lots of very colorful fish (some huge ones and some eel fish too) and sea life, including the odd 2.5 foot shark. The waves can be rough on this side. Lots of bolders, rocks.
The tour included lunch at the Resort. It was a very good buffet I might add. The snorkeling beach has little tiki huts with elevated floors (no sand on your towels!!!!) and hammocks. You spend four hours or so there. Its not too busy, so you can just relax.
Around 1:30 pm we headed home. Took the boat to shore. The ride home was close to 4 hours.
All in all, a very great day trip and I could see myself staying a couple of days at the Bluewater Resort as it looked very nice.

May 2018 • Friends
In May 2018, a group of us went to the Philippines on a scuba trip. On one of our days in country, we opted for the Cebu Whale Shark excursion to knock off a bucket list item.
When we arrived, there were so many people there (it was a Sunday), so we got slightly worried about the chaos. However, everything was very well organized and set up. Our wait time was not unreasonable at all, and they had a very systematic program that kept the boats rotating.
Once out on the boat, we were able to hop in the water while the middle boat fed the whale sharks to bring them close to us. We were able to take amazing photos and videos of these incredible creatures. They gave us a full 30 minutes in the water so everyone was able to capture the pictures that they wanted.
I would recommend bringing some soap/shampoo/etc with you for afterwards, as you will smell like dead shrimp. They do have showers available for use.
We were VERY pleased with the set up and execution of Cebu Tours and would recommend this excursion to everyone!

We did Oslob Whaleshark and Sumilon island tours and all 10 of us (different ages) had a grand time experiencing God's beautiful gifts. Sumilon Island is exquisite and the Butandings are truly magnificent. I just hope they minimize the number of boats that set out at a time so that it doesn't look very crowded from the shore and the whalesharks can swim more freely.

Hi, is it possible to join a shared tour instead of a private? We are 2 person but through this website it doesn’t give any options for the shared tour. Let me know, thanks in advance. Elisa

I am a solo traveler. is it possible to buy a ticket for myself and then be linked up with another person to complete the 2 person requirement to schedule a tour?
Written June 28, 2018
Yes. Might not be on the day you want, but that does happen. You can ask the tour company to call you when they have a few people going.
