About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- mariasS2419JY0 contributionsA definite recommendation of the best way to tour Old Manilar! Best way to explore the sites! What a great way to tour Old Manila! Steven, our guide, was amazingly knowledgeable and so funny! He kept us entertained as we pedaled from one site to another. As a single female, I was concerned about going alone, but no worries! I don't think this tour would have been as entertaining or engaging had we been in a vehicle. I definitely recommend it!Written March 17, 2024
- Lee J0 contributionsFun, but no politics pleaseA very informative tour in a fun way to do it. Being on a bike was a refreshing experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable but he was a little too political which I thought was inappropriate. He must have said “colonizer” at least 15 times in his tour. I felt he was sharing his hatred a little too much. He was also sharing his political thoughts on certain things he was showing us. So when if you get John, please remind him to keep his political views to himself.Written March 3, 2024
- Camper207883817900 contributionsSunset tourI opted for this tour as i did not have much time in Manila. It was a great choice. Very relaxed. Really interesting to learn about the history of the city. And then to watch the sunset on a rooftop bar was great too. 100% recommend.Written March 3, 2024
- K5437CKhansb0 contributionsIntramuros on a bikeThis is a very good way to explore Intramuros. Our tourguide was knowledgeable and the history spanned from before the 1500- century to the Second World War. I arrived a little late and the staff just handled that smooth. Another guide helped me catch up with the group. To bike instead of walking covers more ground and is less tiring. I really recommend the tour and Bambu tours.Written March 1, 2024
- llyons020 contributionsNo need to think twice about doing this tour. Super informative and fun!We were a family of 8 that joined a tour of Intramuros. The guides were funny and informative and kept us safe, stopping traffic when necessary. The eldest (70+yo) and youngest (6yo) in our group took advantage of the Bamborghini - bicycle with a side car - since they don't ride bikes. We enjoyed riding our own bicycles through Intramuros and on the street with other vehicles. The cold towel and ice cream were welcome treats at the end of a great tour.Written February 29, 2024
- B1561XRlindag0 contributionsGreat experience for confident ridersGreat experience! I accidentally booked the wrong date but Bamboo Bicycles allowed me to still attend the ride. :) Great learning of the Intramural section of Manila, very close to the port. The ride finished at the start around 3 hours after the beginning of the tour, with a very appreciated icecream. I have to say, don't do the ride if you are not a confident rider - we encountered a lot of traffic on the Manila streets. Also, I thought the brakes on my bike weren't great. The route is pretty flat - and the bikes don't have gears! As to history, it was great to learn. Some of it very confronting.Written February 26, 2024
- jessicfung0 contributionsBest Manila Experience! It changed my impression on Manila! Been here few times but mostly for transit to the islands. Also being scammed by few taxi drivers leaving me very bad impression on the city before. It’s my first time doing a tour in Manila. My tour guide John knows the history very well! We have been given lots of information about the past of Philippines. The scenic spots are also very nice. The bambike office itself is situated in a nice historic building offering lots to explore before and after tour. And they are a social enterprise which adds points too. Probably because of that, you can find the locals are very welcoming. Police even helped us stop the traffic when they saw our bikes. I believed they have been doing a good job to the community gaining them so much respect in return. Highly recommend this tour to everyone!Written February 18, 2024
- M9865YXrichardb0 contributionsFun and excitable learningGreat afternoon spending some time learning about local history and traditions. Guide was knowledgeable and spoke very good english. Bikes were perfect and the weather was even better. Thank youWritten February 8, 2024

- F5004MBalexd0 contributionsPerfect way to explore and learn about IntramurosWe cycled to a number of landmarks throughout Intramuros, all of which had a fascinating, and in some cases, dark, story behind them. Our tour guide, Steven, was funny, friendly and super knowledgeable about the history of Intramuros, which was interesting to learn about. The cycling itself was easy and comfortable, which makes this tour suitable for everyone. I highly recommend it!Written January 30, 2024
- 676JohnS6760 contributionsInteresting, informative and sobering tour.It was an interesting and informative tour, especially the exploration of the dungeons used by the Japanese to torture and imprison Filipino and US troops after their successful invasion of the Philippines on December 8, 1941. The Fall of the Philippines resulted in terrible Filipino and US casualties and is considered by many to be the worst US military. This tour brings the prime location of these events and the reality of the brutality to light. It was truly sobering and makes one wonder how it's possible that this kind of horror is happening in the world right now.Written January 23, 2024
- karmakollector0 contributionsComfortable, time-efficient way to explore Intramuros! The Bambike tour of Intramuros was a great way to see the highlights of this neighborhood in a comfortable, time-efficient manner! In less than 3 hours, we were able to see the walls and gates, Santiago Fort, and Manila Cathedral, and had he perfect amount of time to explore each one without taking up too much of the day. The bikes were comfortable, the guide was good, and the bonus scoop of ice cream at the end (with interesting flavor choices including coconut, ube, jackfruit, or avocado) was delicious!Written January 15, 2024
- davepD4239KE0 contributionsGreat way to spend a couple of hoursA great way to explore Intramuros. Lots of fun and lets you see more than walking. The tour made it easy to get a good grasp on the history I a fun and light way. Great for all ages. Very easy biking.Written January 14, 2024
- Camper416917324420 contributionsGreat highlights tour! Highly recommended!Great overview of the historic walled Old Manila. Steven was an excellent guide who had an excellent command of historical facts as well as entertaining ghost stories and local lore. Biking to each spot was a good way to see many sites in a short amount of time. We did this on our first day so it was a great way to experience Manila and have something planned to beat jet lag.Written December 28, 2023
- Frances V0 contributionsOrganise your transport home in advance! Awesome tourHighlight of our Manila trip! Tour guide was awesome - we learnt heaps about the history and importance of each stop within the walled city. It’s stunning scenery and all the kids from the school doing their dances was an awesome random highlight. We had quite a scary time trying to get back to our hotel after the trip so I strongly recommend getting a private driver and having them wait for you to finish. The city becomes gridlocked in the evening which is when our tour finished. We couldn’t get a Grab (Uber equivalent). I asked the tour guide what to do and he said walk out of the walled city and there will be taxis which there weren’t. We ended up getting a tuktuk who unfortunately dropped us off in the dark in a dangerous spot with a lot of people surrounding us. Long story, we got back to the hotel, and it’s in no way the tour operators fault, it’s mine. So just passing in the importance of having return transport locked in - do not rely on taxis or Grab.Written December 23, 2023

After positive tour in 2018, I repeated the experience of bambo-bike. As 5 years ago tour was almost perfect, this time it will not arrive to the sufficient rate.
Start was delayed by 15 minutes bur finished 11 am as scheduled. Initial Less stops, less explainations (and more confused), only 5 minutes each stop. Express tour will end at main cathedral when the next stop is saint Augustin church in front of the shop. It makes more sense finishing there.
Evidenty business growed and parallely the quality decreased.
It must be considered different options in Manila intramuros.

I enjoyed using a bambike it’s really fun and comfortable. My kids used a pedicab made with bamboo, they had fun as well.
What my concerned was the traffic along the streets it was a bit upset while enjoying a bambike ride there’s a danger that you might hit with the vehicles.
But the tour was enjoyable, our tour guide Joseph was cool and knowledgeable they taking care of us for the whole trip and after that we had a complimentary ice cream! The whole team of Bambike Ecotour are so nice! ( from front desk, tour guides and the pedicab drivers, thank you all! ) It was a good experience, kindly concerned about the traffic or maybe a little extra careful and booked for later hour with few traffics around.
But all and all two thumbs up i gave 4 stars the other bad 1 is because of the traffic. I recommend this express tour for fun and learn about the history of the Fort Santiago. What are you waiting for? Booked now!

Bambike was an exciting way to get cultural insight into Intramuros. Our tour guide gave interesting stories while keeping us all safe in the busy streets. At the end, we got some cold towels and some great ice cream, which was perfect after a hot day.

Intramuros is an excellent place to visit if you are in Manila. 1 hour drive from the Manila city you can drop in to Bambike tour and travels. Take 1.5 hour Bambike tour which will allow you to cycle across the city along with a professional guide paddling a bi-cycle made of Bamboo.

We have done this same tour twice now and we really enjoy it! The route of the tour was the same both times but we have learnt different things about Intramuros on each tour, and really enjoyed it both times!
It is a great activity to do when you have people to visit in Manila - both fun and interesting!
The biking isn't very hard so you can really do this with anyone - we would highly recommend and I am sure we will be back again - and again - again! :)

It was such a nice evening with Bambike! The tour is well designed with full preparation (raincoat, helmet & a free metal bottle of water are provided along - love it!). Our tour guide is so nice, friendly & supportive, he gave well-prepared (with a lot of passion) speech for every stop. Revealing Philippines’s history with marvelous landmarks & interesting stories. Small cup of San Miguel beer after the tour is just so cool & refreshing :D

I only had time to do the 1 hour express tour. The staff were super friendly and knowledgable, the bikes are made well out of eco-friendly materials, and they are doing good work in the community! Learned some great historical knowledge while exploring Intramuros on a hot day (the breeze while biking was a lot more pleasant than walking around!) FYI for those with kids, there was a 3.5 year old little girl on my tour and they did a great job taking care of her and had a bike with kid seat available. Also for those with a long layover in Manila, I was able to visit Intramuros, Rizal Park, and have a leisurely lunch with no problem. Definitely pay them a visit.

Is it OK to not have a guide? We just want to ride the bambikes and stroll around in Intramuros on wheels. There are three of us.
