About
The Kailash Saga Dawa Festival is a celebration of the Buddha’s birth. The entire month is filled with a series of important religious events surrounding this special day and though celebrations occur across the Buddhist world, the festival at the base of Mt. Kailash is truly unique. After opening ceremonies and prayers, pilgrims will begin a kora (circumambulation) around the base of Mt. Kailash, one of the holiest mountains in Tibet. This trek is set to take you on this special pilgrimage route at the time of the Saga Dawa Festival, which takes place on the 15th day of the fourth month of the Tibetan calendar (late spring / early summer). As this date may change in relation the the international calendar from year to year, please make sure you contact us ahead of time to verify dates.
