- Scenic6660178620200John's reviewThe tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions. The stories were relevant to the history of Hong Kong. A picture of hoe the city got to where it is today based on the historical events and the people drove our culture forward.
- paulinerV5106FM00Highly recommended guided tour! Thanks a lot to Stephanie, a wonderful guide who knows Hong Kong very well as she has been living here since more than 15 years! I highly recommend!
- DanNiZ1900Fun and informative! The organiser (Alex and Stephanie) planned the hunt thoughtfully. And what’s more fun of doing it with friends (as birthday gift) ??!! We learned so much new about HK even after living in the city for 10+ years! Amazing bonding time. Alex and Stephanie also generously treated us for a glass of bubble for the birthday boy 🍾🥂
- MsMkonnichiwa00Fabulous tour with knowledge and excellent paceI did the 3-hour tour of Sheung Wan that included interesting bites of history and guided tour of the area including Traditional Chinese Medicine shops. I learned, walked and sweated a lot yet enjoyed every moment. Fabulous tour and Alex was super knowledgeable and kept us to time. All of us live in HK yet we all learned something. Highly recommend.
- Discover3995200Really first classAlex was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable, informative and interactive. Would highly Recommend her.She was punctual and gave us a wide range of options to choose from 👍
- APMart100Great tourFantastic morning spent with Stephanie around the Kowloon walled city. We have lived in Hong Kong for seven years and had no idea this place had such a loaded history. Plus, the guide is great, what else can you ask for? Thumbs up!
- ceciled47600From Tsim Sha Tsui to Yau Ma Tei to JordanAn excellent tour with Alexandra, from TST to Yau Ma Tei and Jordan ! Even after living in HK for close to 30 years, it's always a great pleasure to learn more from Hong Kong's past history and the Hong Kong of today. Alexandra is very knowledgeable in so many stories of HK, shops and their shop keeper that still exists keeping some kind of legacy to the old Hong Kong. Excellent tour that I would recommend to everyone who is interested to dig deeper in understanding Hong Kong, its people, its past and present. I learn so much ! And best, it was fun too ! I can't wait to explore some more with HK a la carte ! Highly recommended ! Not only for the tourists !!!!! Thank you Alexandra.
- PaulA592000Super interesting & informative walking tourStephanie our guide did an amazing job of telling the story of the area in incredible detail. No notes required here - just straight from the heart tales from the past. I’ve been in HK since 1992, and I still learnt loads. A grand day out :-)
- jackiec844100Informative and knowledgeable guideStephanie the guide was great and this was much more than a Chinese Medicine tour, the history was fascinating and very well presented.
- Ditounette00Great 3hrs Tour experienceExcellent, informative tour of HK Island (Central and Sheung Wan mostly). Lots of anecdotes on HK culture and history during the tour (Man Mo Temple, Chinese medecine shops, main HK colonial sites, etc)
- beverleyw70000A most enjoyable tour! This tour included so much more than I expected, with addition of nearby interesting sights and places as well as the Walled city garden. Stephanie is a very engaging and knowledgeable guide. I would highly recommend this company - with clear and easy meeting instructions too. Looking forward to future tours with Stephanie!
- Bakes2500Very informative Kowloon Walled City tourThis is my second tour with HK a la carte with Stephanie as guide. I can highly recommend the Kowloon Walled City tour to anyone interested in HK history. Even if you have a very god knowledge of HK's past and have previously joined other guided tours, I have no doubt Stephanie will be able to provide pieces of information you have never heard before. A great day out with family and friends
- HTvdL00Great half day tourFantastic and insightful walk that centred on Kowloon Walked City (it’s now a park). Highly recommended. Highly informative tour guide. Loved it.
- 237betinaa00A tour not to be missed !My husband and I took the Happy Valley cemeteries tour with Stéphanie. Her knowledge and passion for Hong Kong made this tour very insightful and lively, guiding us through the history and life of many important people to their contributions to this great city. Thank you Stéphanie and HK à la carte.
- 903JulieL00Fabulous tripFabulous trip. The walled city was demolished in 1990 and replaced by a park so we knew there was not much to see physically. But Stephanie wove such a compelling story that we were able to experience the walled city and feel what it was like!

we did the private walking tour of lantau island, including the big buddha and tai o village. Our guide (Alex) really tried to find special things to entertain our young girls, pointed out good locations to try street food, and found us a nice spot for lunch on the beach. Having a guide was great, because navigating the queues for the cable car aren't straight forward and she was able to show us more of the village than we would have explored on our own. Unfortunately we didn't see any dolphins but that is a gamble with any tour. Though we had younger children (5-7), there is a lot of walking on this tour (probably around 10K steps) and it wouldn't work well with strollers. We only did this one tour with the company but Alex was very knowledgeable about the city and could likely do a great job with any of their tours.

Alex was a wonderful tour guide who gave us a private tour of Lantau Island and Tai O. She was very informative and passed on to us a lot of information about The history of Hong Kong and Lantau Island, the people, and culture. We explored with Alex by foot, subway, cable car and ferry which helped to immerse us in the everyday life on the islands. We highly recommend booking your next tour with Alex. Awesome guide!!

What an incredible way to experience the beauty of Lantau Island!!!
We met STEPHANIE (our SUPERB GUIDE) at our hotel. She led us to the MTA subway for an enjoyable ride to the Lantau Island Cable Car. We then took at 25 minute cable car ride to view the Giant Buddha... an incredible sight!!!
We climbed the 266 steps for an up close and personal view of the Buddha.
Stephanie then led us on a tour of the Monastery and then on to a small boat ride to Tai O Village. We toured this amazing village and ate a delicious lunch at a unique and atmospheric local eatery.
After lunch, we continued our tour of Tai O Village. We visited a Taoist Temple and then took a bus to the MTA and rode the MTA back to Kowloon.
Stephanie then led us to the Lady's Market, just a few blocks from our hotel.
Thanks to Stephanie, it was truly a great day!!!

Lovely and informative day started when Stephanie picked my parents and me up in the lobby and having Stephanie to help quickly get on the right tubes was great and time saving as was the fact that having a guide meant you skipped queues. The journey to Lantau was smooth and getting to know each other. The cable journey to Lantau is definitely worth it and the big Buddha is a wonderful sight from all angles, sadly it's become quite touristy in the vicinity and I hadn't realised how new it all was nevertheless worth going to. From there we headed to O Tai village and again having Stephanie as a guide helped as she knew the exact times of the buses etc although never felt rushed and she always allowed for us to take our time. The village was lovely, very authentic and as we chose not to have a proper sit down lunch, Stephanie took us to a lovely coffee shop as well as a Temple which may not always be visited, in fact there was nobody there and me managed to have a go at the Spitting Bowl! Overall, we had a lovely day and learnt a lot especially in the Village where Stephanie recounted of some of the people she herself had met there and the way they lived, etc. Thanks Stephanie! And of course to Hong Kong a' la Carte!

Stephaine was a wonderful tour guide. She was very informative and such a lovely lady to spend the day with. We totally enjoyed the tour she gave. We had a great time visiting the Big Buddha and Tai O Village, we had lunch at a lovely restaurant in the village over looking the water. If we came back to Hong Kong we would hire Stephaine to take us on another tour, she's the best!

We've just moved to HK and Alex tailor-made three tours for my family that allowed us to get a great overview of life here. From the zoo, Peak and kids' play areas to big Buddha, pink dolphins and pizza on the beach, her tours were customised specifically to the interests of our three young children. And they loved them. Alex is patient, considerate and welcoming — and with years of HK experience offers a wonderful personal perspective. Recommended.

We are arriving in HK on Sept 12 until Sept 15. Is this tour still ongoing due to the current protests?
Thanks

We arrive in Hong Kong just after 7am. If we choose pickup at airport, would you have room for our luggage and at the end of the journey can you drop us to the hotel?
So sorry for not having replied to this question, I have just noticed it :-( I hope you had a great time in Hong Kong
