Highlight of my trip to Seoul
Thank you to the team, especially local guide Chris. I was only in Seoul for a short time, and having seen so many great food options I was eager to ensure I got a true experience. Number one on my list was Korean BBQ, but I was aware it can be a little tricky to have when travelling solo. We started off with fried pork dumplings, moving onto bbq, dessert (I won’t spoil the surprise and ending in the popular but authentic Gwanjang market. Chris was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and happy to discuss insights into Korean culture and food. I would highly recommend it , and make sure you arrive hungry!!

    Take home what you learn.
Absolutely great experience! The course was well organized and the chef spoke excellent English and was a wonderful teacher. My Kimchi received compliments from my Korean relatives. Since returning to the States I have made the Kimchi and tonight I plan to make Bulgogi. Many friends have asked me to teach them how to make Kimchi because of its amazing health benefits. The market tour was also very worthwhile! I plan to take another course during my next visit.

Great cooking class with fabulous teacher
This is a great cooking class that I would highly recommend. Jia made everything easy to follow, and it was great to share the meal at the end of the class.

    Awesome Experience!
So we went on a Saturday, and the local markets happened to be closed that particular day, but we didn't miss out on anything. My daughters and I were taught how to make bulgogi and kimchi. The lesson was peppered with a little history and even some personal anecdotes. Our chef was amazing and very friendly. After we finished cooking, we were then served our food and we had a wonderful lunch. The area of Seoul where the building is located is nice and quiet compared to downtown Seoul, or Gangnam where we stayed, so it was nice to see another side of Seoul. My daughters loved this experience.

    Very good food tour!
I had a great time with this good tour. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a nice delicious taste of samples of Korean food in the area, with some great context added by some very nice, knowledgeable guides that spoke good English. Highly recommended!

The instructor was good in explaining the ingredients and steps. I really enjoyed the class and helped simplify how to cook the recipes. She is helpful and is willing to answer any questions you may have.

    Good value food tour
My husband and I had a lovely time on our daytime walking tour with Ongo Food. We've taken food tours on other vacations, and by comparison this was a very good value. What I mean is that it is quite reasonably priced, and we tried a large number of foods in a short amount of time. The only drawback was that the tour focused on foods we had already tried before, but if you're less familiar with Korean food it would be a great introduction.

    Intro to Seoul
I visited Seoul with some friends, and this was the first thing we did the day after we landed. It's a fantastic way to ease into eating in Seoul. The walking tour took us through Insadong, which is a very Instagram-worthy, historic pedestrian neighborhood full of restaurants, shops, and cafes. We ate BBQ pork belly, fish cakes from a street vendor, rice cakes, mandu, and ended the tour with gelato. We skipped breakfast, so we arrived ravenous, and our guide Jay was very accommodating about making sure we got enough to eat. After the food tour, we waddled around the neighborhood to walk our meal off, and Jay was also helpful enough to give us some suggestions for other places to explore. Overall, I highly recommend this experience!

Such a good class that we did it a whole week in a row!
Learn from scratch how to make all the dishes you have been seeing on Dramas and in restaurants. Super well thought, the teacher speaks perfect English and in the end you will learn from the ingredients and cook. Then eat with other classmates what you have prepared.

A very good experience, let us know more about Korean cuisine, and let us cook Korean food at home. Thanks to the chef for his patience and careful explanation.

    Fun Cooking Class
Jia is extremely amazing. She made all preparation steps and cooking sounds and looks so easy, when it is actually not. We thoroughly enjoyed the class. One of us, was even asking if there's any afternoon class available on the same day. Too bad, there's none..

Awesome food tour with a great guide
What is the best way to break the ice with your first day in Korea? Having your first meal with a great tour guide of course! Visiting four different local surroundings and tasting variety of cuisines were just amazing! Our guide, Jay was a delight to be around. She was so friendly and caring ~~ She took us to some real locals spots that we never would have toured alone. We also got to sample a wide range of Korean food, from Korean BBQ, mandou, rice cake, and even soju ice cream ; ) I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is eager to taste some real Korean food. We had a wonderful experience with our guide, Jai. We explored little alley ways we would never have been brave enough to go down on our own and started our evening in a traditional ‘after work’ hangout. Jai took us to more hidden gems and gave us lots of insight into Korean culture as we walked through the instagram worthy streets of Insadong. We also picked up recommendations for places to try in future and I hope to do one of her cooking classes next time we come to Seoul.

Our tour guide took our group in and out of several different alleys to eat many different delicacies. Kim chee pancakes to black bean noodles to shochu bombs (shochu/cola and beer)! Even with all the walking to the different vendors, it was all very delicious and spicy!

Spent 4 nights in Seoul and this was one of the great memories from our visit. Our hosts Brad and K did a great job leading our small group to 4 restaurants and providing good explanations about the food and lifestyle in Seoul. Strongly recommend this tour and advise to book in advance to get the date you prefer.

I am so pleased that we did this tour. Our host was Brad, a very outgoing Korean young man who lived in Canada for some years. The food was great and we never would have found the restaurants in our own. The entire tour was in a charming traditional neighborhood, Insadong. Brad also shared a lot of cultural insights into Korea with us as well. I recommend this tour!

This was an interesting adventure because there was a no show thus making me the only one on the tour. A lot of places cancel, thankfully this one did not. This tour was through a very renowned company called O'ngo, and I can see why I kept hearing about how great it is. My now, private tour began at Cha yi ya gi, for Korean BBQ. I was introduced to how it's done in Korea as well as how to do a simple soju shot. It was great fun. The next stop was Mat bo rae toppoki for rice cake stew. This place was considerably different but delicious all the same. I had my first try of plum wine too which was wonderful. The third place was Samtong chicken for seasoned chicken and beer. This one was very good too. It was a Korean twist on a very classic American style chicken and beer. It was fun to eat and drink a bit while watching curling too.The last place was a tea house whose name I can't remember. This was a very nice museum and tea house that offered fairly upscale teas and made a nice conclusion to the tour. Keep in mind this turned out to be a private tour for me and your experience may be different. However the quality of food and knowledge of you guide will be very top notch and even with a full group, I can't imagine a less enjoyable time would be had. If you love food and want to have a few drinks in the hand of a knowledgable local guide, I can't think of a better tour than this one.

I did the night food tour and can say that the food was tasty and plentiful. However the guide was essentially non existent. I have taken many other food tours and the guides always give an overview and provide information about history, culture, the neighborhood and what we are eating. Here she did not even tell us her name. We walked out of the meeting spot, she practically ran down the street with half the group struggling to find her among the crowd. While I probably would not have found these exact restaurants myself, two of the three stops were bbq and fried chicken, both easily found all over Seoul. The third stop had an interesting stew that was super tasty and new to me. Again food was good but part of the premium for paying for a tour is the tour part and that was certainly lacking. I left full and happy about the fellow travelers I met but somewhat disappointed in the overall experience.

First things first, K (Kim) is a great and knowledgeable guide. He's really fun and funny.

As for the tour, walking around the back alley's of Insadong to local eateries that I would have never looked for is really fun. More so with the small group of people, who by the end of the 3 hours of eating, drinking and walking around, they're more like your friends than just strangers that you met on a tour. The food is pretty "straight forward" Korean food, so nothing that will intimidate or "gross-out" the average person; thus, if you're looking for "challenging" Korean food, like live octopus, this is not that sort of tour. That said, it's just about the food, it's about the company, and this tour is a lot of fun.

The guide, Helen showed her love for food and cooking which added to the great experience as she could talk about the ingredients in each dish and their place in Korean cooking while we tried several of the local specialties. The places they had picked were smaller local places with great atmosphere down side streets. This was a great option to try several local foods in places I would not have found on my own.

Went on this tour with my 20yr old daughter so not strictly a teenager but can be picky and selective in what she eats, not least because she’s allergic to shellfish! Did this on our second evening and struggled to find it with our google maps so maybe use naver to navigate. It was a fantastic introduction by our guide Brad to Korean food and drink and especially some of the alcohol that I wanted to try but never knew where to start including rice wine and soju. The food was so tasty and plentiful and I’d struggle to choose my personal favourite between the kimchi pancake and Korean bbq bulgogi. Not very Korean admittedly, but feeling adventurous we concluded at a Gelato shop where I had the tomato which was almost as interesting as the mashed potato sampled by another member of the group. Brad’s English was fantastic and almost on a par with his knowledge and delivery of lots of interesting facts, helpful advice and tourist suggestions. Can thoroughly and wholeheartedly recommend this tour as money and time well spent.

We thoroughly enjoyed the food we ate, the atmosphere at the different restaurants, and the information provided by our guide Brad on eating etiquette and Korean culture and with a little history thrown in.
The walk was easy and Brad was very knowledgeable. He made the night fun.
Wish we had done this on our first night in Seoul not our last.
