    Stop: 8 hours
We will start the day with a cup of coffee or tea & appetizer at our post colonial style house. After a short introduction about your tour guide (me), we will learn a little bit of “survival” Burmese words for better communication with locals - which definitely will bring you and locals closer later on during your trip in Myanmar. We will leave the house, and begin our adventure by walking to a local market. I’ll challenge you to duel - to see if you can haggle your way through the market with the words you’ve just learnt. On the way back from the market, we will have young handsome men carry us home, where we’ll prepare our first traditional dish together - the most famous Burmese dish - using a hundreds year old recipe. Traveling is not all about seeing new places. It’s also about getting to know its history, culture & traditions. We will unveil the exciting 1,000-year evolution of the land of Burma – from the the 9th century till common era, while perceiving its culture and traditions. Time for lunch!!! I will reveal to you my secrets to preparing the BEST Burmese signature dish - you are bound to love! “Bon Appétit… and leave some space for dessert.” The adventure continues in the hidden villages: After lunch, we will take a relaxing boat ride to the unseen places on the other side of the river. We will visit to 3 villages where there is authenticity, humbleness and (a lot of) smiles. It’s hard to put the experience that you will get in the villages in words - I’d just describe that you will have an UNFORGETTABLE time. We will come back to this side of the river at dusk, and we’ll venture straight to the vibrant night market and experience the local nightlife while tasting a lot of delicious street food. (I promise you will love it!) At approximately 6:00PM, we will be back home, and that is where we will say goodbye.

This tour felt like 3 tours in one! Started with an introduction to Myanmar's history, culture and language, then we were off to a local market to practice our newly learnt language skills to purchase ingredients for lunch. Had a bit of a cookery demo with our guide, Mo, rustling up tea leaf salad and Mohinga. Stopped in at a tea house to sample the local tea, then off we went by boat to the other side of the river to visit local villages. Back late afternoon we visited a local market where Mo took us to a few street food stalls to try local delicacies. Mo was the perfect host, he was really passionate about sharing his country with others and would happily answer our questions. Booked easily by contacting the company directly via WhatsApp. Perfect intro to Myanmar.

Zayar and his tour are something special.
First of all Zayar is super lovely, energetic and has really good english, he explains about Myanmar's history, culture and and can answer almost every question that the group had, no matter what subject.
The tour itself is not a normal Yangon touristic one, you don't go to any pagoda or a touristic place, you go to the most authentic places like villages and local markets and we didn't see even one tourist
Except us.
Zayar also hosted us in his house, taught us some Burmese taught us how to make some local food that we actually cooked together and ate and for dinner we went to the local market and ate local foods.
Hole day experience that one must do when you get to Myanmar to understand and enjoy better this special country.

I couldn't think on a better way to begin our amazing 11 days in Myanmar. We have registered to the one day Burmese Language & Culture Adventure, for the following morning after our late arrival to Yangon. Zyar has accepted us with a warm welcome in their amazing house, in a middle of classic Yangon neighborhood. The first part of the days includes some basic Burmese language, explanation about the history and the culture and an active task to go in small groups to the market, located 250 meters from the house to purchase (in Burmese!) some ingredients we will cook lunch with later on.
The second part includes a boat trip to the other side of the bank, to see the "other Yangon". Unprivileged villages. The last part is a night food market, after back with the boat.
The price is ridicules cheap to what we have got ! Value for your money is guaranteed. The entire following 11 days in the country, including: Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake - were amazing thanks for the basic inputs and explanations we have received from Zyar in that one day.
It's definitely a must!

This tour was everything it was promised it would be. Zayar was a welcoming and considerate host. It was lovely to spend time at his house learning some basic phrases, and about culture and history before preparing some traditional food, then going on an adventure to the villages.

We recommend this tour - do it as soon after you arrive in Yangon as you can. It's great preparation for your holiday, and great fun!

Zayar is an amazing person, always smiling and have a huge knowledge about everything. His English is very good so it’s easy to understand everything that he tells.
Get ready for LOTS of food and to see the most local places in Yangon.

I’m so glad I went to this tour, traveling in Myanmar could never be the same for me without this tour :)
