About
If you're looking for a relaxed and informative “hands-on” Myanmar cooking lesson then join our team of local ladies in central down-town Yangon so we can teach you an authentic Myanmar meal of delicious traditional dishes. The menu of our Myanmar cooking classes changes regularly so we can work in harmony with what's in season at the market. Before we get started in the kitchen, we'll walk to our local street market to give you an insight into how market life works in Yangon and see all the fresh ingredients and exotic produce. We do all the prep so you can focus on cooking along with us. Learning how to make unique Myanmar salads, curries and traditional desserts. After we've all finished the cooking lesson we can sit down and enjoy eating the meal in our comfortable dinning room. We'll even give you a digital copy of the recipes so you can recreate the meal after the cooking class.

Online cooking class
A dear friend Alex gifted me with this online cooking class. I included my sister and her daughter and yesterday at this time, people in three countries cooked an amazing meal with Marc.
We had fun together, learned a lot - and ended up with a delicious meal that we will surely make again! This is highly recommended for anyone who loves to eat and for those who want a break from Covid isolation 🍲

Great cooking class!

My husband and I really enjoyed our cooking class with Jaew and the team. Although it’s a little pricey, it was definitely worth it for the experience, the banquet of food we made and enjoyed, and the recipes we took away with us.

Great way to spend half a day in Yangon
Thoroughly recommend as an introduction to Burmese cuisine, a chance to explore a little of Yangon, and a great way to spend half a day.

After an interesting tour of a local market, you’ll have chance to make c.5 dishes. Unlike some other courses we have been on you get the chance to do pretty much everything yourself (no “here’s one I made earlier”). Our chef/guide was very knowledgeable, and supported by a great team throughout.

Well worth the money and I definitely recommend.

What an experience
For the market visit and the cooking class it was only the two of us. Not sure what to expect but we were surprised by the openness of our teacher. He explained everything very clear with a nice sense of humor. We loved that they joined us for the food we prepared so we had a nice closure of the lesson. Our backpack created by the women of the center is still traveling with us. We enjoyed every minute and learned so much!

Glad to hear you enjoyed the cooking lesson and our team. Great you could support the social enterprise we work by buying one of their backpacks and that it is still serving you well.

Highly Recommend to all Yangon Visitors!

Absolutely loved my morning with Jo for the traditional cooking class and market tour! Jo and the rest of the staff/volunteers at Saba are incredibly friendly, relaxed and full of info! The market tour was a gorgeous way to fully embrace the traditional cooking class, with a local guide providing so much useful and interesting info on market life and how to navigate them. The cooking class itself was so much fun! All of the food was fresh produce, and they were simple, easy meals I’ll take back home with me! The flavours were amazing, colours were vibrant, and the food was delicious! We sat down together to eat afterwards, which was a really lovely experience.

It was a fantastic way to learn so much about traditional Myanmar culture, and share an amazing experience together through food and laughter, with a fantastic local guide who has an amazing background in cooking all over the world!

Will be bringing visitors to do the same tour, and recommending to everyone! Thank you so much for a great day!
