We have taken many cultural tours in Colombia and this is definitely one of the very best! It is exactly what we would hope for but wouldn’t dear expect, truly exceeded expectations!
It is basically a guided tour to an organic, small scale coffee plantation where they explain step by step the entire process behind our favorite hot drink; even more so, it gets practical and you get to farm a bit of coffee yourself and then precess it throughout the steps to make it ready to drink.
Attention to detail was heartwarming as the hosts make sure to provide hats, ponchos, mosquito repellant -not that there were really many mosquitos- in order to ensure a pleasant experience.
The coffee tasting and conversation about different varieties and ways to make coffee are both interesting and useful as they share plenty tips for guests to prepare better coffee at home.
The group was very small, which makes the experience more intimate and friendly, the breakfast and lunch are fresh and authentic and our guide Andrea was super friendly and cool!
Absolutely marvelous experience and very close to Bogota, I would definitely recommend to all tourists instead of mass-touristic tours to the known coffee zone!

Great tour. The guide Luc is a happy and very nice energetic guy.
Everything was extremely well organized. Marcela and Karen are extremely nice and knowledgeable and committed to what they do ie organic coffee farming.
A real eye-opener for a city guy like me that do not know anything but drinking bad commercialized coffee.
After this day tour, you will enjoy your coffee more due to gained knowledge re what a good coffee is and how to make one.
I am committed to keeping my promise to never drink cheap commercialized coffee anymore.

The real deal! The tour was amazing and everyone made us feel welcome and very comfortable. Guide was fluent in English and Spanish! Teenagers enjoyed the experience and we have a whole new appreciation for the coffee bean. Learn about organic techniques to keep chemicals out of the drinking water and the appreciation the farm has for not only coffee, but the land and ecosystem. Highly recommend!

We had the opportunity to go to the coffee farm, the owner and Karen, are very nice people. We learned a lot about the process of coffee.
In our opinion, the price is very expensive, special for the quality of the food that we had. We had for breakfast, a very small amount of fruit, egg, envuelto, and of course, coffee.
For lunch, was very bad, meatballs, rice, salad, and fried plantain. They had an option for vegetarians ( lentils ).
They should offer better food, with a good selection of typical Colombian dishes, so that foreigners have the opportunity to try them. Again, is very expensive.

The transport bus broke down and we had to wait more than 2 hours for 2 cars to show up. They cramped us 3 people in the back seat on a medium size car for the 1+ hour drive. Andrea and the coffee plantation was great but the transport was terrible and no stops along the way to see the scenery of Bogota as they advertised on the tour package. Tour only lasted 4 hours and not worth the $98.00 they charge for it.

Experiencing the intricate process of coffee-making firsthand was a truly remarkable experience. The details and nuances I learned about made me appreciate each cup of coffee even more. Our guide, Julie, was exceptional at conveying this information. Although the road to the farm was a bit narrow, it was generally well-maintained and the hour-long ride was worth it for the stunning mountain views. The farm's owner provided an excellent education on coffee quality and production. The tour also included delicious breakfast and lunch. While the workshop was somewhat pricey, the wealth of knowledge gained made it well worth the investment.

I had an excellent time during this coffee tour and got right hands on with the coffee farmer. After being picked up in the city, we left for the mountains and visited the Paramo - where Andrea explained about some local plants and the importance of the area.

We continued our way to the Coffee Farm of Marcela - a s mall bio certified plantation with only 8000 trees. We had lovely fresh breakfast with fruit and eggs, some Juice and Coffee.

We planted a coffee tree, harvested some beans, processed them, dried them and enjoyed previous once roasted.

Ending with a home-cooked lunch by her Mom. The tour was great, the guide really knowledeable, all tried to speak Spanish in a very slow way.

I really enjoyed this day.

As someone who loves coffee this tour really appealed to me. The owner of the farm, Marcela, is so kind and enthusiastic. Her passion for coffee shines through and she is so excited to share it with visitors. She walked us through each step of the coffee growing process in great detail. It made me appreciate just what coffee goes through before it gets to us, the consumer. Marcela spoke in Spanish but our fabulous guide Cristian translated into English for those of us who do not speak Spanish.

On the way back to Bogotá we stopped briefly to learn about the local ecosystem. Cristian did a very good job of explaining it to us. I found it interesting to learn about it.

It was a wonderful day. Marcela and Cristian were wonderful hosts who took great care of us. I learned a lot of new things about coffee which will allow me to appreciate it more.

This was a great experience for anyone who loves coffee and even for those who don't care about coffee at all. It's about an hour drive from Bogota to the small town of Choachi and it's an amazing view the entire drive. Colombia is one of the most beautiful places I've visited and this gives you the ability to see all the beauty that the country has to offer. The farm experience is just as amazing. Sipping on freshly ground, organic coffee overlooking the mountains was just what we needed. It was extremely relaxing and super informational. I didn't realize the work/effort that went into making one cup of coffee. Alejandro was our tour guide and he was excellent. He was able to translate everything Marcella (coffee farmer who is the nicest human being and all around great host - we loved her too) said and was also able to throw in his own knowledge of the area and of the coffee growing process. I highly recommend this trip to anyone and everyone regardless whether you drink coffee.

We met our guide Cristian at a local coffee shop then headed up into the mountains towards the coffee farms. We finally arrived at La Campensina Farms where we spent the entire day learning hands on how to pick and peel coffee beans and talked about the fermenting and roasting process. The woman who runs the farm, Claudia Marcela, taught us so much about the ins and outs of what it takes to run her organic farm, all about coffee beans down to her organic soil. She also has some lovely rescue dogs who help her on the farm. So if you’re a dog person It’s definitely a plus. It was one of the best experiences during our time in Bogota (about 1 1/2hrs away from city) it was nice to get a break from the chaos of the city and spend some peaceful time in the country on the farm.
