The best coffee tour in Bogota
Mar 2021 • Solo
Everything was phenomenal, the tour, the food, people! Eveyone who visit Bogota needs to have this tour on their list! You can see the whole process of coffee making step by step, and to enjoy every part of it. One of the best experiences so far. Fredy is a great tour guide and he can explain you everything in most interesting way.

More than just a Cup of Coffee
Mar 2020
First of all - give yourself plenty of time to meet your Guide. Traffic in Bogota is a mess. So do not stress, Leave Early. Upon arrival at the coffee house, Identify yourself with a smile and the counter person will help you quickly. Your Guide if not their will arrive within a few minutes with a smile and your day has started. The ride to the Coffee Farm will excite and de-lite your senses, for up in the mountains Mother Nature is exploding. Your greeting at the Farm is warm and gracious by Marcela who makes and serves a True Colombian Breakfest . After a breakfast your day of working commences. Marcela and your Guide will take you thru the farm - start to finish. Wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen for there is little shade on the mountain side. Our Guide was Natalie and she interprets wonderfully. Ask all the questions you can muster - for they are up to the task of filling your heads with correct answers. Our Guide Natalie is the most endearing person and one whom you will think of fondly when your at home remembering what a Great Tour this really was. Memories are like " Great Coffee " - they just mellow out better with time. This is a must for all ages to learn about Colombia . I hope that you enjoy this visit as much as we did!

Drinking coffee again will never be the same!
We met our guide Cristian at a local coffee shop then headed up into the mountains towards the coffee farms. We finally arrived at La Campensina Farms where we spent the entire day learning hands on how to pick and peel coffee beans and talked about the fermenting and roasting process. The woman who runs the farm, Claudia Marcela, taught us so much about the ins and outs of what it takes to run her organic farm, all about coffee beans down to her organic soil. She also has some lovely rescue dogs who help her on the farm. So if you’re a dog person It’s definitely a plus. It was one of the best experiences during our time in Bogota (about 1 1/2hrs away from city) it was nice to get a break from the chaos of the city and spend some peaceful time in the country on the farm.

Fantastic coffee tour from start to finish
Feb 2020
Julia was our guide and she was great! Arrived at the farm after about an hour and half drive of great scenery for an amazing breakfast. We expected a small roll and coffee but no this was many homemade delicious rolls, tamales, eggs and coffee...fantastic for sure. Lots of explanations of the coffee growing life and then we went out in the fields to learn about step by step coffee farming. We played a fun knowledge game of what we had learned at the end and everybody won a bag of their coffee. Nice ride home and ended at a local market for dinner...all included. CAN’T RECOMMEND ENOUGH!

An Unforgettable & Lovely Experience
Dec 2019 • Couples
The traditional method of processing Colombian coffee is to pick it, peel it, ferment it, wash it, & dry it. Marcela, La Campesina’s coffee farm founder and lead worker begins the farming process much earlier through practices that are environmentally conscious and sustainable. From composting to growing her own microorganisms, Marcela tends to her farm with respect to her land- understanding what earth gives back and how it nurtures her. Her coffee farm is a somewhat spiritual ritual in developing a long lasting and healthy relationship with the land.

We were so fortunate to have met and learned about Marcela and her coffee farm. Experiencing her process and delicious coffee that comes from it was the highlight of our trip. Marcela’s beautiful farm is tucked away high in the Andes Mountains, surrounded by a wide variety of fruit plants, chickens, cats and three precious dogs: Michael “Prince” Jackson, Tina Turner and Mark Anthony. Christian was an excellent tour guide and incorporated a delicious meal and lesson about the local indigenous Frailejón plant that lives 18,000 feet in the mountains, capturing water vapor and transformIng it into drinkable water for the locals. This was the most special coffee farm tour imaginable!

A must do in Bogotá!!
Jan 2020 • Couples
This is a must do while visiting Bogotá! The trip is quite long to drive to the farm but the views along the way are beautiful. Once you get to the farm, you’ll eat breakfast, taste delicious coffee and fully indulge yourself in Columbian history. You will learn all five steps of making coffee and explore the property that has various fruits, trees and animals roaming the land. The weather was beautiful and it afforded us to take numerous photographs along the way. We even purchased the same coffee that you pick while on the farm. Highly recommend it!!

You'll Never Look at Coffee the Same
Jan 2020
This was a great experience for anyone who loves coffee and even for those who don't care about coffee at all. It's about an hour drive from Bogota to the small town of Choachi and it's an amazing view the entire drive. Colombia is one of the most beautiful places I've visited and this gives you the ability to see all the beauty that the country has to offer. The farm experience is just as amazing. Sipping on freshly ground, organic coffee overlooking the mountains was just what we needed. It was extremely relaxing and super informational. I didn't realize the work/effort that went into making one cup of coffee. Alejandro was our tour guide and he was excellent. He was able to translate everything Marcella (coffee farmer who is the nicest human being and all around great host - we loved her too) said and was also able to throw in his own knowledge of the area and of the coffee growing process. I highly recommend this trip to anyone and everyone regardless whether you drink coffee.

Unforgettable experience
Jan 2020
Thank you Andreea and Marcela for taking us through this coffee experience. We learned a lot, we had lots of fun and we tasted great coffee and food.

For all the others, it starts with a 1h drive but you stop at one point where the guide is telling you about this bio-diverse country. Interesting info and great pictures places.
Once you arrive to "la finca" (the farm) you start with a breakfast and then Marcela is taking you through the process of coffee harvesting while gearing you up to start harvest. :)
You go on through the entire process of coffee making from harvesting to drying the coffee while learning about coffee, coffee plant and differences you find in Columbia.
Last you get some lunch. you have some fun with the hosts and you experience the coffee.

We really enjoyed this tour, we totally recommend it! Great job guys.

PS - there was so much info on coffee that we received that if we would want to start a coffee farm now I think we'd be successful. :))
