On our first day in La Paz; in the absence of a free walking tour, my girlfriend discovered this option available as a way to see some of the city. We had planned on simply riding the cable cars for a bit anyway, and figured that this would be a better way to do it with a group of fellow travellers and a local guide to explain some of the sights and history to us as well. Plus: the cost of the tour was only a little more than the cost of the rides would have been anyway, and rides are included in the tour.

The small group of around eight of us departed from the centre on time to take a minivan up to the train station. It's a bit bizarre that they meet by the cathedral instead of just at the station, but it was not much of a problem and the guide, who I believe was called Daniel (could be wrong) filled us in on how the tour would work and how La Paz public transport operates in general. It was a neat ride up the mountain to El Alto, right over the general cemetery, before a little walk around the centre of the other city and the witches market.

Otherwise, much of the rest of the tour was spent going along most of the lines from start to finish, with Daniel explaining to us all of the views, sights, and histories of La Paz and Bolivia in a friendly and informative manner. We finished halfway up the hill from where we started, which worked out well for us as we were only a few blocks from our hostel. It's worth visiting the company store, where the tour ends, anyway: they have a wealth of other activities, information, and trip ideas to browse through.

Sure, you could just ride the cars yourself and save maybe a dollar or two, but this was is far more informative and the group was a lot of fun. A good find for us, and definitely worth the money.

It was a perfect tour for seeing La Paz and its cable cars. Our guide Alfie was amazing, full of enthusiasm, willingly answering any questions we had, telling stories about the city. I myself do not like big cities very much, but after a tour with Alfie I wanted to spend more days in La Paz. A guide like that will make you fall in love with the city.

We were only in La Paz for a short time so thought that we would do the cable car tour to see as much as possible during our time. We had tour guide, Alfie, who was really great, knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions you may have. The group was only 3 of us so it was very personal and easy to get around. If you’re in la Paz - I would HIGHLY recommend doing this tour.

Went on this tour yesterday and Vale, our tour guide, was great. Learnt so much about La Paz and got an insight into the culture of Bolivia. We considered just riding the cable cars without a tour but we would have missed out on so much, definitely recommend :)

I've done loads of city tours around the world and this was undoubtedly the best. I was lucky enough to have the legendary Alfie as my guide. No-one else turned up so it was one to one. Alfie's knowledge and loyalty to his country was great. He was enthusiastic and really positive about La Paz, what it has achieved in the last few years and where it is going.. Who would have thought of doing a city tour from the air ? They have carefully chosen sections of 6 of the 10 cable car lines to give a circular tour. And 2 hours for 50 Bolivarios ! What a bargain. Thanks Alfie, it was great.

This was an amazing tour. I can’t think of a better way to see the most of La Paz. We rode six cable cars and stopped off at really interesting places when possible. The sights were fascinating and lovely, and on each length we learned cool facts about the neighbourhood we were travelling through. Alfie is very energetic, informed and a nice guy. Highly recommend.

What an awesome way to get a look at some of the sights of La Paz. Our guide Alfie, was a wealth of knowledge of all things Bolivian, culture, politics, traditions, and history. His english was perfect and he made the tour very enjoyable. I'd considered just riding the cable cars myself but I'm so glad I opted for this tour instead. It was 8 USD well spent! If you are only in La Paz one day do this tour. If you are here multiple days make it one of your first things you do.

This tour was fun. We got to see several parts of the city, plus avoided the traffic (most of the time). There's also great views of the city overall and the Andes. Interesting stops as well, especially in El Alto.

Alfi: Excellent Guide, speaks perfect English. He has a thorough knowledge of the city and has no problem expressing his true and serious opinion.. Quite friendly and honest. Perfect way to get to know La Paz. It is essential to take this tour. I want to go back and do the same tour.

Yes, you get some nice views over La Paz, but the tour is definitely overpriced. The agency says that the tour costs something because they are not allowed to offer free tours anymore. However, that price is too much. The ticket for all 5 cable cars you take is 10 bolivianos, which is a bit more than 1€. The information you get from the tour guide is easily and fastly available in the internet. Further, the visit on the witches-market in El Alto is more a "here it is" visit. You are not walking over it.
All in all, you should do the tour by your own.
