We booked through the Get Your Guide app, choosing the tour run by Rent-A-Guide. They were quick to respond to our questions pre-booking.
Picked up on time and taken by minibus to a parking area out of the city where we changed vans dependent on the trip booked.
Our guide was personable, the driver was good (although traffic diabolical) and the minibus although full was comfortable.
It's a fair bit of walking over cobbles, in a hot, crowded city.
Stopped off at various places for photos and a bit of history from the guide.
Taken to a "recommended" shop to "browse at our leisure", where I haggled successfully for some (hallmarked) silver jewellery but when we turned around the shop was empty! Came out and spotted a couple from the group in a nearby café who said everyone had gone on to the Church of the Holy Sepulchure but they'd be back this way in 15 mins (so we didn't get to see that).
A reasonable lunch (40 NILS for falafel & salad in pitta with a soft drink) and a good view of the city from the roof).
The crossing of the Palestinian border was chaotic but hassle free (we weren't asked for passports but I'd definitely take it with you!). We had a different guide in Bethlehem who was fun ("you're in the Middle East, you can smoke where you please"!). On entering the church he said there was over an hour's wait for groups to see baby Jesus's birthplace/manger, so took us "in the back way" with instructions to pretend we weren't in a group and what to look out for (he gave us the spiel when we met up with him back up in the church), so we avoided the queue.
Not sure we saw everything as per the itinerary but, all in all, a good day out.

I highly recommend this day tour and in particular the tour guide Tomer Glick.
Not only did I see all the "bucket list" items that I wanted to see during the day but I also learned many new things along the way from our very knowledgable tour guide Tomer who speaks excellent English and has a real depth of knowledge of history and other things as well.
Nothing was too much trouble for him during a long day and he also gave us a running commentary on the bus of various interesting things along the way. He has great positive energy, is a good communicator with a nice sense of humour and was also very patient and caring in keeping our group of many different nationalities safely together. He always made sure that nobody was forgotten or got lost when we went off to explore on our own at various points.
He is also very humble because it turned out that he is quite famous in Israel due to his acting in a couple of legendary McDonald's TV ads. Quite as few local people recognised him during the day despite him trying to hide his identity under a cap!

The tour was great. It's virtually impossible to see more in only a day. It's perfect for everyone who wants a general tour of Jerusalem and Bethlehem but be ready to see everything in a rush mode. There will be no time for souvenirs or something like that although you are shoved in a Elvis Presley Cafe and a selected overpriced shop for more than a hour. The guide, Hava, has a lot of knowledge but we only gave 4 stars because the tour is very biased, politically and socially and sometimes insulting to others who are not israeli.

We are pleased you had a good tour and saw the sites according to the itinerary with our guide Hava. She is highly knowledgeable. The shop stop is for the bathroom as well. Some travelers do like to purchase items though, this being their only opportunity.
It is not clear what you infer about the tour being biased or the commentary provided. Yes, the main emphasis is on Christian sites and some Jewish only If this is your indication. It should certainly not come across as insulting in any way..

The whole day was amazing and Norbert the guide was just fantastic. He had the right balance of giving information of what we were seeing and letting us enjoy the experience. We would recommend this tour to anyone as you really got to see the main points of interest across bethlehem and Jerusalem whixh were incredible. He made you feel safe going through to the Palestinian area and reassured you with what would happen across the dsy. It was good value for the money.

I would not suggest this tour or going to Bethlehem!
We had to transfer from a good quality bus to a rundown bud.
The tour guide for Bethlehem told off color jokes no one appreciated. It was like he did not take his job seriously.
They took us to lunch at a cafeteria for 70 shekels which was ridiculous.
The worst part of all was the “Christian shop “ at the end of the tour.
Once we left the shop there was a guy (grifter) outside. He shoved what he said we’re gifts into our hands and bag. It took a second to understand what was going on. Give you a gift then ask for money. He blocked out way to the bus and kept asking “come on buddy one more for my kids…..you don’t want me to lose do you”. Once we pushed past and got on the bus he followed us and was harassing all the tourists asking for money. The guide allowed this to happen which can old make you believe this is part of their process to take money from tourists.
The company guided tourists into a dangerous situation where people targeted them and tried to intimidate them into giving money.
My advice:
1. If you go do not get off the bus at the shop. You can get everything you want cheaper elsewhere. Nothing special that you can’t get anywhere else cheaper.
2. When leaving if anybody tries to hand you anything you did not pay for do not take it or give it back. If they shove it in your bag take it out and give it back.
3. If they ask for money say NO and push your way past whoever it is, they will try to block you, and get back on the bus. If you give them a single dime they will continue to ask for more.
And now for the Good part
The Bus from Tel Aviv and for Jerusalem was nice. The tour guide in Jerusalem (Avi) was very good and professional. He showed us everything with great detail and comments. We saw what we wanted to see in Jerusalem. I liked that our primary tour guide.

Dear Tjsaprilia1,
As I mentioned below to your friend, encounters with the local population is not something we have control over. Touristic sites world-wide are full with opportunists trying their luck with travelers. We very much understand that this is not a pleasant experience, but again, it has nothing to do with our company.
We are happy to know you enjoyed the rest of the tour and the guide. As for the Bethlehem guide - we would love to get more details about your reservation in order to investigate and to make things right. Please contact our office.

Great tour, but our poor tour guide was put under pressure by HQ organisation.
It was a whirlwind tour, so you get to see a lot in one day, it’s busy 28 people, and if everyone doesn’t stay together the guide has to keep counting everyone to make sure we’re altogether. The issue is that rather than just having the same group all day, people join and leave depending on the tour they have signed up for.
It makes it stressful for the guides and 1 person almost got left behind as our guide was expecting 29 rather than 30.
By the end of the day you realise why the rushing is important. We were 40mins behind schedule and almost missed seeing the Grotto at Bethlehem, luckily our guide managed to get us all to the front of the queue quite craftily - some might say expertly done! The doors were closed just behind our group as a mass was due to start.

Thanks for sharing that overall you were satisfied with the guide.tour combinations are a complex logistic and however much we try for it to be smooth, there are delays. Indeed group volumes are a factor.iti is not always easy to manage everyone and thieri own pace.. This is very much due to post Covid era, and until we can manage the , both transportation wise and manpower wise to privide "Only one destination tours ". The same issue with the dual luanguage tours.
Neverthess you did see everything a on itinterary and for that we are glad you had a memorable tour experience.
thanks; for tihs post and also bringing to light issues that need to be adressed .You gave the credit where due to your guide and for this we are appreciative.

Yoav and Martin (Martin was our Palestinian guide in Bethlehem) were great tour guides who mixed history and humor in an authentic way. They also cared about keeping the group together in busy areas, but knew when they had to keep us moving to stay on schedule. This is truly a full day tour, from a 7am pickup to drop off around 6:30pm. I really appreciated that Yoav was able to customize the drop off at the end of the day. We met a friend for dinner and he had the bus bring us right to the restaurant. The pickup did require us to taxi to a different hotel, but it was not very far from where we were staying. The breaks were well-placed and at very clean and safe locations, including in Bethlehem at a very nice restaurant for lunch. The lunch costs extra but is WELL worth it. If you go on this tour on a Saturday, Bethlehem and Jerusalem will be PACKED, so be ready for crowds. As far as I can tell, we were able to see all the important sites in a structured way that I would not want to figure out on my own. I highly recommend this tour company for their professionally trained guides and there good buses and deep connections with the tourism industries of these major cities.

The pace can be a bit quick, though that can be understood covering both places in a day.
The guide was informative and friendly.
Some suggestion though, which would have made the experience even better:
i) The smaller buses are in need of an upgrade.
ii) The guide should ensure that the entire group is there before proceeding onward at places where access is controlled or at security points. At such places the guide could remain at that point till all have cleared rather than going on the lead.

Great day of our tour of Jerusalem and Bethlehem being picked up from Tel Aviv. Overall our tour was so informative, entertaining, and felt full of life all because of our amazing tour guide Avishay Levy. We have been on numerous tours over the years and Avishay tops them all. It was a very hot day but his energy for life and for the history of Israel made you forget at times the heat and got you to be engaged in all the amazing sightseeing. If you are fortunate enough to get this guide you will not be disappointed no matter what you have planned. You can see he loves what he does and never gets tired of explaining, helping and answering any questions. He made everyone always feel taken care of and safe. Request Avishay Levy it is a must!

Fantastic day and a great experience. Our guide, Omri was brilliant from the moment the tour began. He framed the day brilliantly and was so informative.
Martin met us at Bethlehem and his local knowledge meant we were able to see the Nativity Cave through the Catholic Church and avoid the 2 hour queue.
The day was a great balance of free time, guided discovery and guide led sessions. The little things that Omri did throughout the day made you feel valued.
The driver, Avi made sure we were close to every location and was always waiting at the pickup points so we were able to maximise the day.
The party size (18) meant that even the shop was quick and not too long. They provided you with a free tea as you browsed and weren’t pushy at all.
The food option was a buffet and basic. However it was relatively cheap so balanced out and meant we were in a great location to go to the next place.
Overall a brilliant day and when you consider how much we managed to fit in during the day it was fantastic value for money.

About how many people are on the tours? Is it a large group, and do you get off the bus to see the sights, or does the bus just drive around? Thank you.

We certainly get off at the locations visited.Ther is walking everywhere.
Small group tours seat up to19 people in a minivan.
Coaches seat up to 45 pax on average
Volume of travelers per tour depends on day of the week, destiination , tour language , and season.

Yes I am pretty sure as people were dropped off into get a taxi to the airport. They seemed very accommodating . Also you have to go back through Jerusalem after Bethlehem on way back to to Tel Aviv ( or we did anyway)
