Fantastic indepth Christian based and tied to passages in the New Testament tour led by the most friendly and knowledgeable Christian Palestinians!! Both tour guides knew how to stay ahead of the long lines and the ride to sites was very informative. Stop for souvenirs at quality store with excellent hospitality and 20 percent discount very nice. The guides knew the New Testament and made life of Jesus and the apostles very relatable. Many opportunities for restroom and water breaks as needed. Check out the cave at “B” location in monetary and Byzantine church, shepherds fields- Beit Sahur first bus stop. Touch the exact location of Jesus’ birth, visit the Sycamore tree included. Pay the extra money for the cable car tour, best views of Jericho and Dead Sea too. Top notch tour, highly recommend! If you choose to tip these very talented, knowledgeable and very kind and patient tour guides, please do so before leaving Bethlehem or Jericho as the Palestinian tour guides unfortunately can not ride back to Jerusalem.

We had a great time on this tour. Ameer was a really cool guide to hang out with and listen to; very knowledgeable and kept the group together and moving very well. His perspectives as a Palestinian Christian were really neat to hear. We brought our 5 year old daughter and she enjoyed it also. Bethlehem was what she wanted to see the most on our vacation, and she loved the Mt. of Temptation a lot too. The tour is all in West Bank sites, but we never felt unsafe in the slightest, and the people there are kind and hospitable. Highly recommend this tour as part of a DIY Israel itinerary to get the harder to access areas.

I had an amazing trip with Elijah Tours. The tour guide Elias and Mohammed did their great job on assisting us, giving us needed information and managed the big group very smoothly. They also know how to lighten up the mood. The bus driver Rami was nice and friendly too. I was surprised when they gave us free chicken shawarma, falafel sandwich and free bananas from Jericho. Im impressed! Thank you Elijah tours! I would definitely recommend this trip to my friends!

Just a marvelous tour we got to the Church of the Nativity very early before many tours had arrived and our tour guid was wonderful. Then we visited the White Chapel and Shepherd’s Field and had time to look and explore ended Bethlehem with visit to a nice store and lunch. That afternoon saw the river Jordan and people baptized and ended the tour visiting Jericho and touring the ancient city a great perspective on the history of the area. Enjoyed the tour and learned so much.

We had an initial admin glitch, so I would recommend dropping them an email the day before to confirm your name & attendance for the tour (we were missing on the list which caused a bit of confusion on the bus). That was quickly resolved and our day began.
We went to the Bethlehem, Jordan River and Jericho tour which was awesome. So much to take on board, so much to see/hear/do. our guides were phenomenal - from sneaking us in to places, to giving us local food to try like fresh dates, the best falafel I have EVER eaten, hummus, breads.....
I highly recommend buying from the tourist shop - they were the best prices we came across through our whole trip and I really wish I’d bought more of the Dead Sea products (my skin felt lovely after)
This tour made me feel like we got to see, hear and taste local life. What more could you ask for from a tour!?! Thanks Elijah tours!

Our guide in Bethlehem had a great sense of humor and energy. We waited (standing) about 45 minutes to be able to visit the grotto in the Church of the Nativity (there was a service going on), so I was glad to have a book with me. The afternoon was more disappointing - the Jordan river site was closed (we think for Passover), which we didn't learn until we arrived, and we ended up spending a lot more time than was necessary in Jericho. Our guide felt bad about the Jordan river being closed, so I appreciate that he was trying to give us some extra experience, but I think most of the group would have preferred to return to Jerusalem earlier. Given the opportunity to choose again, I would look for other tour options for these locations. (We also got no sort of follow-up from the tour company after the tour to acknowledge that we'd had to miss the Jordan river.)

My husband and I visited the most sacred river in the world - the Jordan River. The Jordan River is very picturesque and it exudes that spirituality from it. It was our dream to perform baptism. We were very happy when we did this ceremony. Wonderful place. First of all, it is a river revered all over the world, and by all Christians. It is mentioned many times in the Bible, Jesus Christ was baptized in it, so all believers should visit this place. We advise everyone to go, this trip will give you a lot of impressions.
The guide Kaderi told interestingly, and at the same time without overloading with figures and facts. The bus was comfortable. The time flew by, it was not tiring. We want to express gratitude to our guide. Kaderi had excellent erudition, tact and subtle sense of humor made our tour rich, dynamic and unforgettable. It was very nice how you know how to present the material in a special way. You drew a parallel between historical facts and information taken from the Old and New Testaments, revealing a deep meaning, and history literally came to life before our eyes. We are glad that you were our guide on this trip! We recommend our guide Kaderi. Thank you very much for an unforgettable tour.

Elijah Tours was very responsive when I asked for information prior to booking this tour. My main goal was to take the cable car in Jericho to visit the Mount of Temptation monastery, and Elijah Tours delivered on that. That was a great experience! The tour was well organized in the sense that the various drivers necessary were punctual and well coordinated. We were a bit surprised that the Jericho part was not guided (unlike the Bethlehem part where we did have a guide), but we had a nice driver who took good care of us. We took this tour on March 9, 2022, shortly after Israel reopened for tourists, and there were only 6 people on this tour, and only the two of us did the Jericho part, so we were riding around in a private car with just our driver. It was a bit wild, but it worked!

Interesting tour and nice guides! Elijah and his team were very welcoming and showed us the main points. Because we went to different places we had to jump from one to another really fast and we wish we could stay more time on each stop to see the city and know more about the current situation. Besides that, we saw everything that was planned. The guides offered us delicious typical food and deserts. We hope to return one day to discover more and wish all the best to Palestinian people!

Bethlehem, Jericho and the Jordan River are on the West Bank. Bethlehem plays host to the Church of the Nativity, where Jesus is said to be born, it is certainly a marvelous place for Christians to visit. If you have a spark of belief, you will love it. Jericho is an Arab city, it is said to be the most ancient city in the Middle East. The Jordan River is where John the Baptist baptized Jesus, you can only feel a sense of wonder seeing this fabled waterway, which runs through Irael and Jordan.

Hi, My wife and I together with our 1 year and 11 month old child (boy), will accompany us in our vacation in Israel. Please confirm:
i. if we can bring our child in this Tour
ii. if we need to book a seat in the tour for our child? (or is it free/ at no cost?)
Frances D
Austin, TX17 contributions
Hi there,
I don't think they will require you to get a ticket for the child. Israel is very child friendly. There is quit a bit of time off of the bus. A lot of walking in Jerico, standing in line in Bethlehem, and a little bit of walking for the Jordan. I would recommend bringing some kind of back carrier for the little one.
In Jericho, you will actually take a tram up to the monastery which is build into the mountains. In the monastery is a cave where Jesus was tempted by the devil after he was in the desert for 40 days. It is worth seeing. There was no guided tour through Jericho itself though.
I hope this helps!

Would we be guided through the old part of Jericho? I read that we'll pass all the sights. Also, why is this tour so much less than the tours to Bethlehem and Jericho? Will we be missing something, or do you just offer better prices?
