Obviously, you can't really review a holocaust museum. These are my mere suggestions to enhance your visit. Essentially, the museum starts with early 20th European history and the prevalence of anti-semitism and finishes a little after the founding of Israel.
If you really want to get the most out of this visit, be prepared to stay at least three hours; there's so much to see including brief videos that play throughout certain exhibits. I rented the Audio guide with the headset (it's about the size of a phone). But if you can splurge and have the time, I would highly recommend hiring a private guide which you can do on the website. I was able to briefly listen in on two different private tours during my visit and the guides provided such interesting insights and nuanced historical details as compared to the regular audio guide device ( which was still great) FYI, you'll need to leave a form of ID as collateral when you rent the audio guide.
Despite it being full, you still have room to walk around. However, during the school year, you'll see students taking notes throughout the tour for school reports so they'll occasionally be in the way.
Prior to the visit you need to register at their website. When I was online to check in, there were a few guests that hadn't so they had take out their phones and register there. Not a major hassle, but it'll save you a few minutes. Also double check to make sure they are open. They'll occasionally close for visits from foreign dignitaries or possibly holidays. There is so much to see here, I suggest blocking out a good part of the day for special visit.

* Do not use this link to buy your AudioTour. YOU WILL NOT SKIP THE LINE. This link does not work. I tried it -- April 2022. They had my appointed time in the system. I waited at the counter only to be told that I need to wait in the line for AudioTours anyway.
* After waiting in line for the AudioTour, the time it takes for each person at the counter is too long. I had to learn how to use the machine and test it. I hope they upgrade their tech.
* The Audio material is good material. If you learn best by hearing things, get it. It is mostly repetitive to the material in the museum, which includes many short, embedded videos.
* To rent the AudioTour, you must leave something at the desk to assure that you will return with the machine. They prefer passports. I didn't have mine, and I was forced to leave my cell phone as collateral. I did not like doing it.
* The AudioTour has a lot of content. I could not listen to it while also reading all the materials in the exhibits. Later, I asked; I was told the AudioTour has 10 hours of content. I listened to all of the beginning material (101, 102, 103, 104, 105... little in the middle, and most of the ending material (901, 902, 902..) while eating lunch in the cafeteria.
* The museum took me nearly 4 hours. Anyone who does it in 1-2 hours must skip a lot of content and opportunities for reflection. Additionally, I toured the synagogue and other areas of the premises.
* There is no map of the premises. The entrance to the museum is a separate building called The Visitor's Center: there are no signs in English to get to back to it.
* The exhibits are bilingual in Hebrew and in English. They should be trilingual in Arabic too.

Yad Vashem drives home just how much mans depravity can extend to ! It drives home the reality of the Nazi ways and reminds us that we all need to be ever vigilant of nasty rulers and demagoguery. It is shocking to see the pain inflicted by the holocaust. And wonderful to see how today life carry’s on ……… yet again with hope.

Thrilling glimpse of the Holocaust in all its' gruesomeness. Exquisite memorial to the 6M jewish lives lost for profiling diversity by a Pied Piper of Israel. So authentic in viewing, that many people are crying openly throughout the tour. They left nothing to the imagination , for it to be ignored and falsified none of the history.

Wonderful museum…..extremely well done….organized and full of information…the grounds are beautiful….
Problem: there wasn’t any parking, Although we were with a tour guide in a tour guide SUV, we were unable to park in the tourist parking lot because we weren’t a bus….unacceptable….and disappointing. Tour guide was embarrassed as well….why are ONLY busses aloud to park there….our guide had a badge and the car we were in….was CLEARLY marked as tourist….
Things need to change so that access is available……

Yad Vashem Holocaust Remembrance Center is a must see place. If you want to learn, and everyone should be continuing to learn, or just reinforce your understanding, this is a great place to go.
A must see place so that what happened in Eastern Europe never happens again.

I thought I had learnt a lot when I visited Auschwitz in August but I soon discovered that that is only a section of the entire tragedy.
I didn't realised that there was over 1,000 ghettos, one which was in Shanghai,China (controlled by Japan) and I didn't realised that some of the people were gassed in van, not just in the chambers.
To me, the liberation had to happen but it wasn't a joyeous time for all, in fact people carried on dying and when those who survived returned to their home towns, some were unwelcomed. To think that they had survived such a horrific experience, to then be faced with this upon their return.
I had visited a number of the sites quoted ie the Vilnius Ghetto, Ponary etc but I haven't ever seen such graphic footage which was too much for some of my fellow visitors.
The recommended visit time was 1-2 hours. I was there for 3 hours, and I didn't listen to all of the audio, and I only visited this main hall, the memorial hall and the children's memorial. You could easily spend a good day here.
It was a shame it was so packed but then again, it's great to see so many people visiting.
Very easy to get to. Alight on the Light Rail - from the Central Station it is 6 stops to the end of the line Mt Hertzl. I walked it and it took me 45 mins. When you get to Mt Hertzl, there is a shuttle bus to take you to the entrance but it is only about 300 meters, and took me about 6 mins.
Such a sobering experience. A must if you are in the area.

This was a (way too) quick tour of a visually stunning and memorable place. It was truely a once in a lifetime experience and you need 3 hours to make your way through it. 1.5 hrs. is simply not long enough to see and hear and read and absorb everything.
