About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- emilyf790 contributionsart & food = perfect comboFantastic tour with Monyca! Loved sampling a variety of treats from multiple types of rice noodles and fermented rice to tasty fried taro snacks! Learning about the recent development of new urban art in Phnom Penh City was a unique perspective into the city and a great backdrop to enjoying the local food. Absolutely recommend doing a food tour early on in your Phnom Penh experience so you know what foods you want to come back and eat again during your stay in the city!Written November 1, 2024
- MyNameIsJimmy0 contributionsDifferent sides of the cityThis was a great tour, and an interesting way to see Phnom Penh. The stories behind the artworks gave them a whole new meaning and relevance. Both the breakfasts were great, too. I just didn’t enjoy the frequent and inescapable touching from the guide - it’s not a cultural thing because I’ve spent several months in this country, so I hope he can work on this.Written August 4, 2024
- Kirra H0 contributionsHighly recommendedMorning street art and breakfast tour with Jackson was fabulous! It gave us real insight into the market and local foods. We enjoyed the back laneway street art heightened by a touch of Cambodian music. Well worth doing and can highly recommend to get some local insight you would not easily do yourself.Written August 2, 2024
- dness650 contributionsA Wonderful Exploration of Hidden Street Art to galleries to the new Artist's Hub at The GalleryThis experience was incredible. JB gave a clear explanation of the history of Art in Cambodia, from the silencing of the Artist's voice during the Pol Pot era through to the slow but growing number of Artist's willing to express themselves through Art today within the parameters of a communist society. I saw the juxtaposition of Art and development. The artist's statement about development to the growth and change in the villages where development covered or became intwined as part of the Artist's piece. It was an awesome experience. Highly recommended. JB has a wealth of knowledge.Written July 6, 2024
- AngelaMaryClaire0 contributionsStop scrolling and book this tour!!Jackson was an amazing guide! The food and the art were incredible. Learned a lot, ate a lot, saw a lot!! Book this tour, you won’t regret it! We also loved the surprise stop!!Written May 9, 2024
- williammH2452NG0 contributionsA Taste of the South – Kampot and Kep, CambodiaI thoroughly enjoyed Urban Forage's 'Taste of the South - Kampot and Kep' multi-day tour. The airport pick up was smooth. Overall timing was customized to my schedule. Ducky, the owner/guide, is terrific - knowledgeable, flexible, expert in all things local. Loved the local accommodations and especially the thrilling food choices. The itinerary takes you to lesser-known towns filled with character and great food. I can't imagine going all the way to Phnom Penh and not taking some time to see the more rural and less-travelled pathways. (Would have willingly paid more for this experience.) Also, the non-profit Kampot Pepper Plantation visited during the trip has a store outlet in the PP Russian Market where I bought numerous spices, blends and marinades to take home to friends without weighing down my small suitcase. Have been to northern Cambodia many times. Can recommend this tour in the south without hesitation.Written May 3, 2024
- Big_Al_650 contributionsInteresting and informative tourI really enjoyed the tour. The guide, Jackson, is very knowledgeable and explained the back story behind much of the interesting and varied artwork. We also had two delicious breakfasts and a tour around BKK Market.Written April 27, 2024
- Tam130 contributionsBook it now 10/10Absolutely cannot recommend this your enough. Jacky was a brilliant tour guide. His knowledge of history and ability to explain the background of the art was great. Food was awesome, adored the little donuts. I will recommend this tour to everyone!Written April 26, 2024
- NHsurferchick0 contributionsMagical Morning!!!What a wonderful way to spend a morning and with lovely guides and ultra friendly tuk tuk drivers. The mix of delicious food coupled with the discovery of amazing murals down alleys you would never find was something special. The guides were very knowledgeable and the business is woman owned—props to Ducky and her band of amazing staff! For those with mobility issues, there is a lot of in and out of the tuk tuk but the walking is short and easy. They provide cold water throughout the tour, good bathroom access (always helpful for the older ladies in the group) and go above and beyond to make the trip special. I asked how sugar cane juice tasted and the next thing I knew, I was presented with a cold, slushy and refreshing cup. There are no up charges so be sure to tip your driver and guide well. They deserve it! We loved it so much we booked the evening food and drink tour. I’ll write another review after that tour too.Written February 27, 2024
- Marion W0 contributionsGreat street art, recent social history to put it in context, and fabulous foodGreat way to see a different aspect of Phnom Penh - local wet market and some great street art. - Mrs_LS140 contributionsA true local experienceWe loved everything about the morning street art and market tour! Monyca was a wonderful and very knowledgeable guide and she took us to a very very local market where we were the only tourists. We tried the most amazing food (truly some of the best we’ve had here and we’ve done other food tours in Cambodia) and got to visit some unique pockets of town to learn more about the history and street art culture. We would thoroughly recommend but make sure you come very hungry!Written December 26, 2023
- 809otiliam0 contributionsGreat way to start the morning in CambodiaThe tour guide Monyca was very nice and took us to the local spots to eat and the food was very good. We then went around to see the urban art in Cambodia and it was great to get the background on the pictures and when and why they were drawn. It was worth the early startWritten December 24, 2023

- Guide622374551870 contributionsAuthentic and genuineFour of us in a family enjoyed immensely the tour guided by Jackson. We got to try the traditional breakfast items in the wet market. Jackson speaks well and is able to explain well. We had local coffee, local donut, local r breakfast rice set. After the breakfast we got to several locations to understand the street art scene in Phnom Penh. We ended the tour with another local breakfast stop! Special mention to Jackson and the tuk tuk driver Mr Lucky. They were always attentive and took good care of us.Written December 11, 2023

On my first night in Asia the markets and busy streets felt daunting, Jackson helped make me feel at ease and welcomed me to Cambodia. Our food tasting tour gave me a chance to taste some delicious local food (some of the best that i tasted in my two weeks travelling the country). One of the highlights was a tasty desert made of sugar cain and condensed milk and sesame wrapped in a leaf, so good!
Thank you Jackson.
Thank you Jackson.

It was so much fun tuk-tuking around the city with Ducky and the other guests. Ducky doesn't tell you exactly where you are going so there is a lovely element of surprise at each spot. Delicious and authentic food and a knowledgeable guide- what more could you ask for? I will definitely be recommending this tour to all my family and friends who come to visit. A great way to start of your holiday or reconnect with Cambodian culture and food if you've been here a while. Thank you!

Great evening out with many stops and delicious food and drinks. Jackson the tour guide was very knowledgeable and also provided a bit of a historical tour as well as going into the food history. Fantastic way to get a sense of the city and the local feel - nice mix of classic curries and some French influence along with more adventurous bugs! Loved the crickets!

My friend and I had a great time on this food tour through Cambodia’s capital. The tastings were just the right size considering there were 20 of them. And the variety tastings gave a very diverse and tasty view of popular Cambodian dishes. Our tour guide, Jackson, and our tuk tuk drivers were all very friendly and accommodating. Jackson gave us a lot of interesting information about the food, its history, and the culture of the area. He also went out of his way to make sure my friend and I were dropped off at our AirBnB afterwards. I highly recommend this tour as a great way to get a taste of Cambodia and experience some of the city’s night life.

This was a fantastic tour!!
We were lucky enough to just be my husband and I, along with our wonderful guide Lea and tuk tuk driver Mr.Lucky.
What a fantastic time we had, so much food all the beer we could want (not much because we were so full on delicious food)
Lea was so bright and bubbly, with great local knowledge and food knowledge.
Firstly taken to this beautiful shop where the woman has been making her noodle
Dish for over 41 years (Num Banh Chok) I think it was but, I was too busy enjoying and forgot (highlight of the trip for me)
The food just kept coming, fantastic street ribs, market fruit, pork and ginger, beef and ants, sour soup, creepy crawlers (not all that bad), and lovely little roadside coconut dessert. Ever tying was fresh and delicious.
Lea’s passion for food and making her costumers have the best experience is second to none.
Was a great food adventure for our honeymoon, I would highly recommend this tour, and would honestly do it again ourselves!

Jackson was the perfect guide and very informative on the local cuisine and history. He introduced us to so many fantastic street food vendors - none of which we'd have found ourselves (or indeed been brave enough to try!). We all loved every minute of the tour. I didn't mention this to him but I also occasionally guide food tours in my home city (for a friend's business) and he was quite brilliant handling a 'tricky' guest and providing all the rest of us with the best experience - that isn't an easy thing to do. Can't recommend him more highly and my adult children said it was the best thing we'd done on the holiday!

I had an amazing time with this tour. Guide Jackson was super knowledgeable and a fountain of information. There was so much food on this tour that i decided to skip the last restaurant as I really couldn’t eat anymore.. instead Jackson took me to a really nice street filled with cute bars for drinks… though it was a group tour, however I was the only guest. Other tour companies cancelled on my booking as they had a headcount limit before they could proceed. Urban Forage however kept true to their word and turned up even if I was the sole guest that day. Would thoroughly recommend this company!!

We’ve been on many food tours in cities we are visiting for the first time because we believe local cuisines are quick - and delicious - windows to a people’s culture, history and beliefs. The Ultimate PP food tour with Urban Forage that my husband and I signed up for ranks up there as one of the best. From start to end, it was a party for our senses and our food guide, the oft-lauded Jackson was the consummate gracious and fun host to us and to another couple. He’s clearly a very experienced food tour guide who knows the Khmer culinary scene at the back of his hand. He customised the programme to suit our dietary requirements and preferences, and throughout the night introduced one amazing food item after another in vastly different settings we would never have found on our own, one of which was a raucous restaurant with live music AND live broadcast of the SEA Games football match between Cambodia and Indonesia. Imagine dining against a backdrop of such unrestrained merrymaking! We ended the night, pleasantly buzzed from the cocktails we had ended the amazing experience with, feeling like we had eaten and learnt much about this lovely country and best of all, had spent the evening with good friends.

We love a food tour and they are limited in choice in PP. Thankfully this one is AMAZING! We were taken around numerous back street eateries by Jackson, who was very entertaining and enthusiastic. We went to places we wouldn't dare go on our own and tried loads of fantastic food. Really, there was loads! We had a lovely group and ended at a very trendy bar for a cocktail. A must to try local food and take in some of the sights at night.

We really enjoyed our night food tour of Phnom Penh with Urban Forage. Our guide Jackson was an excellent host leading our group of seven via Tuk Tuk to multiple venues. He explained each tasting and how best to eat it combined with the herbs, sauces and other condiments. There was plenty of beer and soft drinks at each stop. He also shared some of his own life experiences, which we appreciated. There were many highlights including a venue with a live band that one of our tour group members got up and sang with. The night finished with a cocktail at a very unique venue. We had a great night - excellent food and lots of laughs.

Hey guys. I am booked on a tour later but my booking has disappeared from the app. Anyone have contact details or email for the organizers for this?
Written August 7, 2022
I was wondering what is the latest pick up time from hotel for this tour? I am interested in this tour however I land in Phnom Penh at around 3pm. I’m not sure I would have enough time to get to my city hotel, check in and be ready for 5pm pick up. I will be in Phnom Penh early April.
Written January 19, 2020
I would contact them directly, they may be able to change pick up time???
They are fantastic to contact via email. Very quick response!!!
Written January 19, 2020
I would say so. Parts of the tour definitely involve drinking, but they are brief and not integral to the tour itself. Shauna will definitely take your child’s age into account when you make your appointment.
