    Cu Chi Tunnels
Stop: 2 hours - Admission included
Situated 40 km away from Ho Chi Minh City, the Cu Chi tunnels consist of a vast and ingenious network of underground tunnels connecting living and cooking areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers but also hundreds of trap doors, that played a strategic role in the resistance of the Viet Cong soldiers during the war, helping them to control a large rural area around Ho Chi Minh City.

Cu Chi tunnel experience was very good (duration, weather, English speaking guide, transportation).

What can be improved was the place we visited before Cu Chi tunnel - it was a workshop done by disabled people. The product quality they showed was average while they charged very high price for tourist like us.

Excellent service from a great guide (Tam). Picked up on time from our hotel and enjoyed a smooth drive in a comfortable car with just myself and son. The tour gives a fascinating insight into the life of the Vietcong and demonstrates the unbelievably tough conditions they endured. I would highly recommend this tour.

AMAZING time, our guide Le Cong Hein had a great range of knowledge on the history of the war, tunnels and political events before and after the war.

He also took us to a local street Cafe that was a quarter of the price of food in town.

His English was great ... I would rate him 6 stars 😍

He was also doubled as our personal photographer 📸

We took the half Day tour of the Cu Chi tunnels with a stop over at a an arts factory which manufactures artworks from egg shells. We enjoyed the tour from the moment we stepped into the bus. Jun the tour guide was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of the places we went to and shared very amusing anecdotes. The tour at the tunnels needs moderate physical exertion because of the walking required specially if you Will enter the tunnels. Aside from the tunnels, there is an exhibit on the traps devised by the Vietcong during the war which was certainly quite shocking. The tour gave us a glimpse of jungle life of the vietcong like what they ate and how they cooked and dealt with Daily living while they were being pursued by U.S. forces. It was a very enjoyable tour but be prepared for some walking and to get some dirt in the activity!

Jason our tour guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and very caring. All the parts of the day trip were well organised with good selection of boats, tuk tuks, mangrove boat, other stops and the restaurant for lunch. It was a very enjoyable day and worth the effort of the 2 he drive each way.

I actually visited in February 2019, however due to travelling all over the world for the last 12 months, I am just in the process of writing all the reviews. We booked this tour through our hotel the day before. We were able to pay in dollars and get on the tour leaving the next day which was ideal. The bus arrived on time and our tour guide was brilliant from start to finish. During the drive to the tunnels, he told us about the history of Vietnam and also modern day facts and sights. He had a wealth of knowledge, spoke really good English and was very friendly!

Before arriving at the tunnels, we visited the An Ha Handicapped Handicraft workshop which supports those suffering from 3rd and 4th generation effects of the Agent Orange chemical weapon used during the war. We took a short tour of the workshop and bought a souvenir from the gift shop which is a donation to help the workers.

When we arrived at the tunnels, we watched a short video about them before our guide walked us around the area. Our tour group only consisted of 5 people which was brilliant as we weren’t rushed and always had opportunities to ask questions. We saw where bombs were made, saw how the Vietnamese soldiers and their families lived, where uniforms and equipment was made and even visited a firing range where we were able to shoot an AK47! We had the opportunity to crawl through the tunnels which have been widened by 40% for Western tourists to fit through, however they are still a little tight if you’re claustrophobic. We tried Tapioca which was used as medicine back then and learned all about the way of life during the war. Our guide also told us the difference between North and South Vietnam including those who are for and against the communist government.

It was a fabulous tour from start to finish and I would highly recommend it as a must do in Vietnam. Even on the ride back to the city, our guide filled us with more information and we even travelled down the road where the famous photo of Vietnamese Kim was taken. I thoroughly enjoyed my time on this tour, it is well worth the money for only $28 each!

Booked this tour last minute based on the reviews here on TripAdvisor. The experience fell short of my expectations. The tour guide was soft-spoken and when combined with her average English, sometimes we could not understand her. We saw other groups and observed that we understood other tour guides better and they were also more informative.
