        A confronting but necessary experience
Extremely informative and confronting experience. I learned so much about the US/Vietnam war and its lasting impacts on the people of Vietnam and US veterans.

        A surprise at every turn!
This was a good experience. When you go to the lacquer shop. Make sure to go upstairs as well. 4 stops are completed. Unification palace, post office, war museum, and several stores.

        War Remnants Museum
An interesting historical sight with mostly anti USA war material presented from Vietnams point of view. This a must see as it is very well set out and has descriptions in english or you can have a head set.,

        Take your tissues!
This was incredibly emotional. Take your time and read the plaque, they are well worth it telling the story of the American/Vietnamese War. Take your tissues! The agent orange and war crimes sections are particularly difficult

There's a reason why this is the City's #2-rated activity on a very long list of "things to do"
A visit to Ho Chi Minh City may not be as balanced and real as it should be if you skip this museum, whether by choice or for lack of time. The museum makes it impossible to overlook the horrendous consequences of war, any war, on everything else. On everything we love, everything that makes life worth living. It accomplishes that mission without denying that wars must also sometimes be fought to fight for the same things: Everything that we love, everything that makes life worth living. The museum is more relevant than ever. In a City that offers visitors more choices for things to do than most other places, after you come here, you will know why this is the #2, on a list of almost 400 options. Make your visit to Ho Chi Minh City real and set aside at least half a day for this unique museum.

        Amazing to visit this museum!
This passage serves as a somber reflection on war's devastating impact on innocent people who continue to endure its consequences even now. May we as a society have recognized that Vietnam remains, as it has always been, a nation of deeply devoted citizens with a remarkable heritage, cultural richness, and promising tomorrow.

        Must see
A must see in Vietnam. This museum reflects on the historic events in the times of a terrible war in Vietnam. It shows the amazing spirit of the Vietnamese people and the awful events that occurred. Good to be educated on this topic we learned a lot.

        Makes you think for sure
Quite a harrowing experience all in all but they really should update it with better AV, more accounts of how it impacted people and dramatically improve their AC. Really shocking what a superpower was capable of doing in such recent times - everyone visiting vietnam should see this Rob

This Needs A Lot Of Improvement
With the amount of documentation that exists on the Vietnam war this comes in as a mediocre museum. It's limited to a vast amount of black and white photos and some artifacts such as weapons and equipment. In terms of presentation and infrastructure it is amateur at most. The building itself desperately needs better air conditioning. Bathrooms need improvement. For anyone from the "latin" part of the world there is no support in Spanish or Portuguese. Overall, there is a lack of interactive material and even wrong information (as in the case of a photograph from Argentina identified as Cuban and with a completely wrong translation). I1ve been to at least half a dozen war museums that this one could have used as a framework for theirs. It was a terrible and unjust war, this museum comes far from doing history justice.

For those not familiar with the timelines related to Vietnam’s quest for independence, this is a good place to learn. Incomplete as it relates to US POW treatment at the hands of Vietnam and Viet cong but the other information represents an accurate timeline of events as I remember and documented in news and other publications.

        A thoughtful visit
For me and my wife the War Remnants Museum was a shocking experience. We could not believe half of what we saw at the War Remnants Museum… those exhibits with propaganda and historical objects gave new eyes on the Vietnam War. Close-up views of the aircrafts and military stuff look cool but a few are heavily biased in one stance. Its proficiency to be housed in Saigon, however the heft of the material took reflection rather than relaxation from the museum. Essential visit for history buffs, however I entered with my head lowered from the outset.

Fascinating range of exhibits and photography
I knew very little about the Vietnam war so found this museum fascinating - and shocking. There’s some photography and exhibits that are uncomfortable to view as they shows man’s inhumanity to man - including war crimes and the long term impact of agent orange. Start on the top floor of the building (second floor) and work your way down to best understand the exhibitions and timeline. Allow 1-2 hours - and don’t miss the tiger cages/prison exhibition to the left as you enter the museum.

Tells the story of the futility of war
An extraordinary compilation of photographs and insights into the Vietnam War, including its historical context and lasting impact. Requiem stands out as the most powerful museum exhibit I’ve encountered, featuring striking film images captured during the conflict that moved me to tears with their haunting detail and poignant narratives. Some of the visuals are intensely raw and may be unsettling. I suggest dedicating a few hours to fully explore the exhibit, as it spans three floors and includes additional displays outdoors. Truly a profound and unforgettable experience.

Must see experience but be prepared to be shocked.
A must see experience. I knew very little of the Vietnam war but know a whole lot more now. Extremely shocked at the level of atrocity carried out by US. Why was no one found guilty of war crimes?? Real life experiences that are heartbreaking to read and horrific pictures. A very difficult viewing but very worth while.

This tour is a must when visiting southern Vietnam.
The tour enables you to learn more about Vietnams war history (which is a must for anyone travelling to Vietnam).

The tour includes visits to the tunnels, which are incredible. The guide even took my wife and I through one of the widened tunnels (about 100m or so).

The tour was delivered by an incredibly pattionate, knowledgeable and friendly guide (we had Tom), who gave so much useful information at each stop within the tour making the tour more interactive and the vast amount of information availiable within the museum more digestable.

All in all, we loved this tour and considered the tour to provide excellent value for money.

Jimmy 10 was gave us brilliant information of the city of Ho Chi Minh. Would really recommend. Five star to Jimmy 10 and the trip

These places pose a very good combination as the Cu Chi Tunnels brought me to how the people actually survived at that time and the tools and strategies they amazingly did. If you like history, this is best for you. The War Remnants Museum enriched the knowledge as well because of the photos that depicted the life and suffering of the past. It makes you appreciate of life now basically.

The whole 3 story building was very hot and humid. The AC was not switched on or may it is always this way. Many old people above 70 were dehydrated and just could not walk. And they were sitting more than they were watching the museum.

This is extremely bad on the part of museum authorities. It is not that allow everyone for free. They take a entry ticket of 1.5 USD per head. If you are above 60 and if you cannot tolerate hot and humid conditions for 1 to 2 hours, do not visit this place

Normally we are not really museum visitors, so we thought: we will be outside again in 15 minutes. However, we do love photography, and so we were served at our beck and call. We have never spent so long in a museum. When we finally got outside, the rest of the group was already waiting for us. One thing is certain, everyone was very impressed and it was very quiet on the bus.

Bleak and depressing, but well worth visiting.

The highlights of this museum are definitely:

      - the effects of agent orange / dioxin on the Vietnamese people, and indeed American veterans and press photographers too

      - information about the reason for war and Vietnam’s history

      - outside exhibits such as American weapons and tanks

It’s well worth a visit and especially doing it before going to cu chi tunnels, to gain a better insight.

I highly recommend using the audio tour as you’ll otherwise be somewhat confused and lost.

Lots of war photographs, depicting the atrocities of the war. It’s informative, though one side as one could imagine.

However, given the subject matter, this museum deserves a bit of respect. Instead, it’s a hellhole. Looking beyond the old infrastructure and lack of airconditioning, children and toddlers run around, hitting artifacts, shouting at the top of their voices. Other tourists also shouts loudly.
Guards are not there to observe decorum, they are unfortunately lazy.

What is supposed to be a highly emotional, illuminating and emphatic experience, turns into a loathsome experience.

I was left wondering if I would not have been better off reading a book instead of visiting the museum.

Very warm but they do have lots of fans working and so much to see. Entry fee very reasonable.

It has a cafe and good toilets

The remnants museum is a great experience for military buffs or people in general. There is lots of hardware on display from the classic Huey helicopters to Douglas Skyraiders and tanks. They say that history is written by the victors and there is a whole hall devoted to the atrocities committed by the US army but of course no mention of how the POWs were treated! Nevertheless, it is very well done and you really need 2-3 hours to do it justice. There is a good cafe and of course a shop. Not to be missed.

This did not disappoint. The museum have a number of levels covering different parts of the war. The museum tells the war experience from the Vietnam view.

I spent 3 hours reading and viewing the many photos.
