Good tour but forced to tip by the tour guide
The view is amazing.the biking is pleasant . However coming to the boat ride.Everything was prepaid but the boat operator asked us to buy snacks so we obliged.Since it takes a long while to row. Later while reaching the bay area the boat operator forced us to tip him to which we replied we would once we get off. So as promised we tipped him.Our tour operator Mr.Minh said 5000 won't buy him anything we should tip more...hence we shelled out 4000 more as that was the only cash we were left with...to which he said this would hardly buy him anything..but my question to all this is...is the customer responsible for well being of the staff or is the company responsible for giving them a fair wage..also tipping should be done according to once means not as per the happiness of the receiver. The whole incident was truly disrespectful.

Great Tour of Ha Long Bay
Booking was easy. I made reservations to see Ha Long Bay the night before and the operator promptly sent me a message via Whatsapp and email to confirm. I was picked up at my hotel and bought to a central location in the Old Quarter and was picked up in a bus with other passengers. Bus was full but not crowded or cramped. The tour operator explained the itinerary engaged the group in light conversation before the roughly 2 hour bus ride. The ride includes a stop at a rest area for snacks before reaching the cruise port. The cruise port is very crowded as numerous tours are embarking at the same time. We were guided to our cruise where it was roughly 30-50 guests on a boat with 2 floors. First floor consists of assigned tables, a bar area and bathrooms. Upstairs is an open air deck with lounge chairs. Boat never felt crowded, plenty of room to move around. The tour included numerous stops including Ti Top island (where you can either swim at the small beach or climb 250 plus steps to see spectacular views of Ha Long Bay. Additional stops included Kayaking and visiting a large cave. The tour itself was wonderfully done, very informative, great host, plenty of time at each stop. My only complaint has nothing to do with the tour operators. Ha Long Bay is noticeably polluted with plastics so I chose not to swim. Also the crowds (during summer months) were huge so there were often lines at each place. The tour itself was well done and I would recommend to anyone.

        Row Row your boat
A trip full of fun n adventure Started day early from Hanoi & was transferred to Hoa Lu after 3 hours On the way you will take a pause at some neatly maintained Rest & Relax facility & you will also be guided for some local products Once you are at Hoa Lu you will be directed to Dancing Cave side wherein normally u will have two choices either to go for tracking or cycling You can also get bike . Cycle for around 30-45 minutes in the country side You will be passing through lotus ponds & villages which is quite exciting Thereafter move to Temple side In Vietnam temples are basically a memorial places Here there are 2 temples of 2 ancient kings who shaped Vietnam as a country in 10th century Visitors are not supposed to wear short dresses Bit don’t worry robes are available free of cost which your guide will give you to wear Normally after there you will be taken for lunch break which is buffet & having varieties however vegans will struggle After that most exciting & adventurous piece of the journey comes I.eThe boat tour The 45 mts boat tour in the river is mesmerising The boats are sailed by boat person normally they are females & it is sailed by not by hands but by legs Very labour intensive The sight is worth seeing as the boats sails through the river under caves near mountains Very scenic & enjoyable There are no if good resorts Bungalow Tom Coc caught my eyes On the return journey pls pay tips to boat person as a mark of your gratitude to hard labour

        Great experience
Exactly as described. When compared to a 5 star Ha long bay experience with the ‘limousine’ travel from another company, the experience on this tour was a lot better. Tang was a great tour guide - giving interesting info about the places we drove through without being too much. He kept us to schedule really well and adapted to the changing traffic to do this. Nice pagoda visit at the beginning. In contrast to our other tour - this tour wasn’t trying to up sell throughout (or at all). Normal tour bus not anything fancy but had A/C. The bike ride was excellent - really beautiful and good length. Not physically demanding. Brief stretch of road at the end with more traffic was a little bit dangerous. Providing helmets would be useful. The food wasn’t bad for the overall tour price. The boat ride was really long - maybe around 1 hour 45 mins with a rower! Great scenery including caves with low ceiling that you go through. Could make this a little shorter for more time at the final part of the tour. Not asked for tips like I read for other locations like tam coc although I did as the poor woman worked so hard. The steps on the last part of the tour to the view point would be physically difficult for some people particularly to do in the allocated time - more time here taken from the boat ride would be great. Lots of great photo opportunities throughout. Surprised it’s not got more reviews on Tripadvisor as genuinely really good value and the best experience on our trip so far.

        Amazing day in Ninh Bihn
After the initial mix up with the hotel pick-up, we had an amazing day in Ninh Bihn. The tour includes a visit to the local temple, an easy 30 min bicycle ride, an hour boat ride to the caves and a steep hike to the local peak. Sophia our guide did an amazing job sharing some stories on Vietnamese history and giving us some insights on local customs. We really enjoyed the tour and it's highly recommended if you're visiting Northern Vietnam.

        Responsible Tour
I book this trip on 29th march. And Actually we have a good experience with this trip. But at that time we had some quite bad experience with the tour guide. But due to the very good response from Tony Hoang (owner) and also Trinh. They both said apologies for it. And they handle the problem very serously So I decided to change the star and write down another review..anyway it didnt change my love for Hanoi. And I will book another tour from this tour for another visit

Not good on a wet day
Well the scenery is great, even when th clouds are ow and and it is very wet. But I was not that impressed with the samoan ride. It is linda fun to be rowed up the river and then back, but you do have to remember to duck when you go through some of the caves!! But is was quite uncomfortable on a hard bench with no back-rest and it was raingin quite steadily, so we were very, very wet by the time we got back to the starting point. Different, but not that enjoyable.

        Amazing experience
The boat ride down the river through the caves was amazing. We also took a bike ride through the countryside before lunch which was fun. It was misting and we were provided w ponchos which worked well to keep from getting soaked. The lunch that was provided wasn't the greatest but that did not detract from t the rest of the excellent day.

The trip went fairly well. We had a punctual driver. The tour guide was a tad useless. Hardly any information with the exception of a brief story about the kings before the temple then proceeded to overload the bus with continued repeat of the itinerary. No data about the areas, what the land use is, how it’s changing etc etc. to be honest I expected more enthusiasm and a lot more content.

Be warned the price you pay is excluding tips. The tour guide made a revaluation that the boat rowers only get paid 2000dong for 1.5 hours of rowing :o and rely on tips which the tourists are expected to pay at 50k-100k dong minimum. The tourists also get pestered to buy food on the river and by the photographers who charge on top. The driver also needs tipping as do the bathroom attendants and restaurant servers and the tour guide himself etc hopefully you get the drift. Don’t generally mind tipping but not when the people are so damn forward about it and constantly telling the group about tips. It’s a system issue. It does then raise the question as to what the cost of the trip actually includes.

The food was ok. Mediocre at best. Buffet reminded us of an all ‘you can eat affair’ one gets in England. Overcooked and kinda bland. Drinks were of course on top.

The bicycles were mostly broken. Never seen any service and for anyone above 5’6” they are next to no good. The seat could not be raised, if it could it was very short. Brakes were hardly functioning. To be frank I saw no point to bicycling around a dirt track for 10 mins. The views on the river are superior and trump the cycle trip.

The views from the top of the mountain were good.

Overall it just felt like the reviews and the description sells one a dream but the reality is far from it. It’s worth doing but if you have access to a scooter or a car do it yourself and save the trouble. Most destinations are 1.5 hours ride away from Hà Nội. The entry costs are between 100k-150k dong to each place. Lunch- there are plenty of places and at 1mil dong one would feast!

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this tour was. We had friends that spent more money to go to “Ninh Binh full tour” with a different tour company and they did not experience half of what we did on the tour! Very professional, friendly, helpful and entirely knowledgeable tour guide by the name of Happy, went out of his way to make sure we all got the most out of everything today. He even personally stayed with me all the way up and down the mountain, he never left my side for a minute. The bike ride was so fun and the sights were something to behold. The lunch was delicious, the Mya Cave paddle boat ride through 3 caves was nothing short of spectacular. and of course the mountain itself was the perfect experience to end the day with. The luxury limo bus was so comfortable with leather seats and the temperature inside the bus was just perfect. Not too cold, just right. Hats off to Happy for providing us with a full day of spectacular sights and for being the perfect host.

An awesome full day experience. Bao, our guide, was both hilarious and informative, giving great context for everything we saw and did. The driver also kept us safe through the maze of motorbikes getting in and out of Hanoi. Tons of variety and felt well-paced. Had a few downpours during the boat ride and the last hike; ponchos were provided but may be worth packing towels. Also be prepared to turn down numerous merchants hocking their overpriced wares (more aggressive than Hanoi, not as bad as Hoi An). You also do want to make sure to bring enough money (in smaller bills) to buy drinks at lunch, and to tip your boat paddler and guide. But that’s a small inconvenience for the value this trip offers. Unforgettable scenery - a great way to escape the hustle and motorbikes for a day, and you’re likely to befriend some of your fellow visitors on the bus and at lunch which is fun in itself. All in all, it is a very full day and you may be exhausted and damp by the end, but it is so worth it.

We landed in Hanoi on the night of the 16th. At 8am the next morning we were picked up at the front of our hotel and were heading off on this all day tour.

What a great way to start our adventure in Vietnam. Sophia was our guide and she kept us entertained the whole day. We learnt a little about the history, traditions and culture in the region. How to barter (and when not to) and lots of tips for newbie travellers to the country.

Although a long day, it does not feel like it. You are totally looked after by your bus driver and tour guide. Our bus was very comfortable and driven very safely (was one of the most comfy and sane bus trips of our entire trip). There are lots of stops for toilets and refreshments and Sophia keeps everyone in tow and some how manages to keep every one on time and gathered up for each part of the adventure.

Lunch was provided at a small and secluded little restaurant so you felt like you were special and not part of a procession of tour buses. Food was great too. All the activities are evenly spaced and provide lots of little highlights. The boat trip through the caves was the highlight though - watching our elderly Vietnamese boat guide paddle our boat with her feet was just amazing.

We got home after 7 that evening just in time to scoot out and enjoy some night life and dining in Hanoi. One recommendation - check the weather for the day. We got caught out with a cold spell and many on the tour were not prepared with enough warm gear. It can get cold in winter and sitting on a boat in the cold wind would have been unpleasant for some.

The tour is a full day jammed packed with well selected activities such as bike riding, hiking up a mountain, and a bamboo boat tour, along the way are stops at local shops for purchasing essentials and souvenirs. My tour was made even more fantastic because of our tour guide Sophia. She is easily one of the best tour guides I have ever seen, she kept us entertained on the long bus rides with very much needed information on the days itinerary, the impressive Vietnamese culture and history, and tips and tricks on how to navigate in Vietnam, all told in her uniquely humorous and lively way.

Sophia deserves exceptional praise and I highly recommend her and her tour company if you ever come to Vietnam

Me and my partner overall enjoyed the tour and i can recommend it for everybody who (like us) has only little time in Vietnam and wants to learn a bit more about people and life outside the big cities. Bao was a very entertaining and chatty host and took good care of the group. Well organised pickup from hotel (and back), good driver and comfortable bus. The best part for me was visiting the ancient temples, the bike ride and the magical landscape, despite many other tourist being around.
Make sure you don’t get scammed by any vendors though. during our boat ride one of them quite aggressively tried to make us pay for highly overpriced stuff we didn’t even want and which the lady gave to hour boat-captain (and expediting us to pay). And it also left a slightly bitter taint that the boat- driver afterwards (unfriendly) asked us for a tip (instead of leaving us the chance to make the first move which we wanted to do anyway). This kind of experience just doesn’t add to a good feeling about a trip where everything seems so well organised. So if you count this out, all in all a good experience.

Dear Rose, Warmest greeting from Easytours24h, Thank you so much for your using our Ninh Binh day trip & sharing amazing reviews. We're very happy when you have "interesting tour" with so much variety, especially temple, bike ride & tour guide - Bao... Ninh Binh is very beautiful & should not be missed on the trip to Vietnam. It's amazing blooming lotus season at the Mua cave area! We highly appreciated your metioning & suggestion about the boat trip tip, that's a really not good experience which our guide always informs to customers before the boat trip, the local people who work for local administration & we have no way to stop them asking about tipping, we're sorry about that -> this is very good warming to new clients "don't care about the local's asking tipping pls👍. We will continue sending your suggestions to goverment as well! Our team will keep the hard works up to bring clients more than happy like you! Wish you all the best!

Vu and our driver Hoa were both really wonderful. Vu is funny and easy to chat with, he also gave many stories about the history of Vietnam. The tour itself was smooth, pickup was actually early by ~20 minutes and Hoa was a great driver, there is also wifi on the bus. I enjoyed the bike tour and temple experience, the boat ride was really beautiful but a little too long at 1.5 hours (it gets a bit repetitive).

You will have plenty of time to climb up and down lying dragon mountain in Mua Caves but the steps can get steep, I am 5'0 and was doing high knees plus the very top dragon area is not developed and can be hard to climb (be warned there are only chains against the edge). If you have bad knees or don't want to climb there is a pretty lily paddy and food areas to also walk around by the base. I took this tour as a solo female traveler and felt safe the whole time and enjoyed meeting others along the way, definitely recommend it!

We only booked this trip last minute as we essentially ran out of things to do in Hanoi, however we were glad we went.
The pick-up was smooth as we were the last to be picked up and then it was a 2.5 hour drive to our first event, although this included an unnecessary 30 minute break at a horrendously busy service station which felt unnecessary. The cycling was fun, albeit only about 10 mins each way, and then the temple was interesting and informative. Lunch was tasty and had plenty of options.
The boat tour was outstanding, we loved it! Our boat guide spoke very little English but tried her best to convey information along the 90 minute journey whilst also allowing us to enjoy the trip without being stuck listening for the full duration.
The mountain hike was also very good fun, if a little busy.
Overall we really enjoyed the trip and it felt decent value for money if you cannot get access to a bike to travel down to Ninh Binh yourself, given the entry for each of the 3 locations was circa 100,000 dong (<£4) each so there is a huge markup, but if you aren’t able to drive yourself down there then it feels a reasonable fee.

With only 3 days in Hanoi we debated between Ninh Binh and Halong Bay and surprise, surprise - landed on Ninh Binh.

Nervous at first to know if we made the right choice, this became the highlight of our 10 day tour around Vietnam!

Vu, our guide was fantastic and communicated so passionately about the beauty and history of his so clearly beloved home, Vietnam. Self professing his goal to ensure we leave loving and understanding more about their culture we can safely say thanks to Vu - we absolutely do. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and stories with us.

As a summary, first we visited the ancient Hoa Lu and learnt some of the most defining moments in history for the Vietnamese imperial dynasty.

The boat ride down Tam Coc was a once in a lifetime experience, our boat driver although speaking very little english made the trip so enjoyable for both myself and my partner. Even showed us videos of his stint in Kong Skull island)! (We of course promptly watched Skull Island upon returning to Sydney yesterday).

However, the highlight of the whole day was climbing the 486+ stairs up to the top of Mua view point. After almost suffering what felt like an asthma attack (neither of us have asthma) we quickly appreciated the efforts seeing the views from the top and felt so accomplished climbing and suffering with our fellow tour buddies we met along the way.

120% recommend this tour if you have the chance whilst in Hanoi if you are keen to understand & experience cultural Vietnam more and see some of the most stunning sites in the country.

I have to say that the best part of the package was the guide. Happy was amazing and always brought energy to the group while being extremely well-versed. The value for price was very good and even though I was traveling solo, I felt very safe and comfortable.
