- H8919DSpaulap00A great day tour.Best day tour in Bangkok! My group was lucky enough to have ‘Uncle Sam’ as our guide, Ayutthaya was amazing, well beyond what I was expecting, and Uncle Sam was very informative without being boring, and also very funny. Around half of the tour gave us enough time to do our own exploring, and to find that ‘perfect’ photo. We had a simple but very satisfying and tasty lunch, which was included in the tour cost along with free water bottles. This tour seemed to be very well organised and even if you don’t get the team of Uncle Sam and driver, ‘Mr T’, I think you will be very happy. Highly recommended. Solo traveller aged 74, so very suitable for all ages except perhaps small children who might find the ruins less interesting.
- Francisco M00Must do in BangkokSuper boye was an amazing tour guide. Very considerate of my wife and baby. He didn’t miss a beat and kept us entertained the whole way
- ECL B00Ayatthuya excursion that delivered on its promisesVery well organised tour in comfortable vehicle, in the capable hands of Boye. And wow, what an amazing place! Even without knowing much beforehand, I was able to get some understanding of the illustrious history and shocking fall of Ayatthuya ("seven days and seven nights, boom boom boom" in the memorable words of our tour guide 😊) all while walking gobsmacked among the impressive and beautiful ruins. Overall, I would highly recommend this trip to most people. However, the sound system in the bus wasn't up to the same high standard as the rest of the experience, making some parts of the commentary impossible to follow. Unless there's a commitment from the company to improve the sound quality, people whose first language isn't English, whose hearing isn't perfect or who really don't want to miss any of the information may want to consider another tour operator.
- yokom41200amazing experienceThanks to your guide, I really enjoyed this tour. I highly recommended it. Lunch was amazing!! One of the best meal in Thailand.
- 349phirumk00It was a pleasant trip.Good in terms of logistic arrangement (transportation, punctual schedule) Average in terms of food. It was less choices and less food volume.
- dulenec00Very kind tour guideI loved seeing ancient architecture of the former rulers of Thailand. Our tour guide explained the history, then let us explore each site. The guide was very responsible and caring. Important for tourists to know they should dress respectfully for this tour. Also, I would suggest, when you stop for lunch, to buy some of the grilled sticky rice (wrapped in banana leaves) from the sidewalk sellers - it was really delicious.
- Mark H00Highly recommended!Very organized trip, we had Uncle Sam as our guide who taught us a lot about the history behind the temples but also said a lot about Thai language, culture etc. Lunch was local, cheap and delicious, we even ordered an extra plate. We packed in so much and arrived back at MBK by 14:30. Excellent value for money and would highly recommend to anyone staying in Bangkok. You the man, Uncle Sam!
- RonH131400AmazingHad a great time tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable great food at local restaurant it was a amazing time
- onurengink00Best Guide Tum TumDefinitely I recommend but be sure that your guide is Tum Tum. She is very professional, informative, helpful and friendly. She has super positive vibes and we had a great experience thanks to her. Also we had a plenty of Thailand history and background of Thai culture.
- KPDF28800Tour worth going“Handsome Paul” was a very good guide. He gave interesting history of Ayutthaya as a capital city in that time period. Even though tour started early, it finished at 3 so there was time for us to walk around MBK Centre where we got dropped off.
- Tatiana P00Key was Amazing!Key was amazing! She was super friendly and would explain everything to us! Thank you! The tour was so worth it… the floating market is over priced so Make sure you bargain to bring doen the price
- Sara R00Perfect day tourPerfect one day tour if you are briefly visiting Bangkok! We spent 2 days in Bangkok and this trip left us feeling we have seen it all. It’s a day well spent and we enjoyed it. William was amazing guide, he was so friendly and fun, and gave us a lot of interesting facts and information about the places we were visiting and general way of life. Would highly recommend!
- joanellet4100Fun and informative tourA fun and informative tour! Mr William was great at explaining some of Thailand's history, and was very helpful with everything. Our driver, Mr. Chatchai also drove very safely and efficiently. I was also grateful for the bottles of cold water provided - it helped with the very hot weather.
- joshaitken00Courteous but UnderwhelmingThe guide and reception team were very accommodating, pleasant and helpful on and before arrival at the river city Bangkok meeting spot. They spoke English well and prompted me persistently to provide a hotel pickup location for their mini-van even after I had checked and their database didn’t list my hotel as an eligible waypoint. Still, they got the name and picked me up precisely on time! Why am I giving this 3 stars? One, because it was rated by Tripadvisor in the top 10 things to do in Bangkok and it’s not even in Bangkok. So far, as a new person to Bangkok I’ve done two of the top 10 tours and barely spent any time in the city as they were both hours away (Yes, the pickup location is in Bangkok but still). Second, the tour just wasn’t that remarkable. Lunch was in an open-air shack like place, one of what seemed to be ubiquitous in Ayutthaya. Further, the temple ruins were all quite similar. We saw 4 but you can see one and feel like you’ve seen them all. Same building materials, symbolism and purposes for each. The whole process of us stopping the van and having drawn-out explanations for simple aspects of the ruins was redundant and somewhat dull after a while.
- Sai Chan Myae S... T00It is a good trip.Tour guide well presented and good trip. He take care of all tourists very well and everybody feels cheer and active during the 1 day tour.

Sara shared with us all the important sites we passed by. She also answered all our questions. Very good english. For people thst travel for the first time in Thailand if you choose this trip, make a list of what you would like to buy and ask your tour guide for a resonable price to pay. There are no prices exposed and you have to negociate for everything. I wanted to buy 10 magnets (fridge magnets) and sellers first price was 4000 bth. I negociated to 1000 bth/ 30 Euro (I still wander if I made the best decision buying from the floating maket). Ovrerall was a great experience.

This is a definitely something you want to see and experience. Our tour guide "Abby" was friendly and explained the sights really well. We had a tour in the train and later got to see the market stall owners quickly pack their goods away before the train returns. I did not enjoy the seafood and fresh meat markets as i am skirmish for strong fish smells and the sight or blood. This is not something i recommend for those with a sensitive smell and gut. The Floating market however was much more pleasant and i managed to get lots of gifts at great prices. I would certainly visit this market again!

The trip started at 6.30 am.
Sara and the driver picked us up from the tour agency.
Sara is brilliant, knowledgeable, caring and with great sense of humor.
She took us by bus to first train station (and pee pee island), then by the train to the first marker, where we were able to see the train departing and all the related commotion. Then Floating market which started with "James Bond" boat trip to the market itself, then half an hour in paddle boat.
Great experience, unforgettable moments.
With Sara everything went as planned.
Thank you Sara

Best tour we’ve done in Thailand! Our tour guide was by far the best we’ve had so far…Knowledgeable and funny. Started off on the train to the station. When you arrive in, it’s a funny situation where the tourists on the train are filming or high fiving the tourists on the platform! Once the train stops there is a quick tour of market before getting into position to be the tourist of the platform. After that, we transfer to the floating market. Again, the guide gave advice of how to barter should you wish to purchase anything.
Both tours are very economical as the floating markets are known to be a trap in tourist extortion. The 6am start is painful but is the best way to avoid the excessive crowds

The tour was good but we felt too rushed, specially at the train station market. We only spent 30 minutes there after having spent 2 hours in the van to get there. At the floating market we spent approx. 1 hour and 20 minutes. Just getting on one of the boats in the floating market took us close to 30 minutes. This didn’t give us much time to browse around once we got off the boat.
What i liked the most was coming into the station in the train and then watching it leave.
The guide gave us no information on the history of the train or the floating market. It was more of a means of transportation to get there.
I feel we spent way more time in the van then at the sites. 2 hours each way!

We did this tour yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic. Our guide was Tee. The van turned up spot on time and we picked up 4 other couples on the way. At one point we were actually running early. The bus was full but a maximum of 12 people which is nice as it's only a small group.
It's an early start but don't be put off, it's so worth it. We drove for about an hour (after the last pickup) out of Bangkok and arrived at the train station (I use the word station loosely). There's a toilet stop and then we waited for the train which arrives at a loose 8am. All aboard and then a half hour train trip to the market. It's amazing watching it all unfold from aboard the train. Once stopped Tee took our picture at the front of the train. You then have about 20 mins to look round the market before the train leaves again at 9am. This time you watch it leave and don't go aboard. It's just incredible. A health and safety nightmare but like nothing I've ever seen before. A real cultural experience. Tee then provided us with free cold water and off to the floating market we went.
A short trip in the van and then a James Bond boat (long tail boat) gets you to the floating market. Again another spectacle. We sat and just watched it all unfold around us. Incredible. There's an optional boat trip on the floating market which we did as we wanted the full experience. It was 300 BAHT for 2 of us. Tee kept hold of our tickets and advised us to come at 11am when the boats would be quieter. After that we headed off back to Bangkok. Traffic was on our side so we got back at about 1.15pm. You could argue there was a little too much time at the floating market but it was nice to just sit down and enjoy it.
I'd highly recommend this trip and this company.
*Extremely punctual
*Clean van
*Bonus free water
*Great tour guide
Tee was informative, clear, helpful and funny. Thank you so much for a fantastic trip.

The night before they advised us what time pick up will be exactly and they were there waiting for us in the morning at that time. The tour guide Pat was very professional and excellent English we understood everything and she was very detailed as what to expect. First you drive to the train station take the train into the market and after leave with the van to the floating market, where you take a boat into the market. In the market you can take another boat for few extra bath to go around the river or just walk around on land and see mostly the same things. up to you if you prefer the beat or walking around. After the floating market its time to head back. Very well organized activity and i would recommend to anyone thinking about doing it.

Train market was a great experience however I thought the stay at the floating market was too long unless you paid extra to go in a traditional paddle boat for 30 mins. It may have been better to have this included instead of the long boat ride to the market. Also told that tour finished at 12.30 but didn't arrive back to hotel until 1.45 pm and so missed my check out time oops.

I was here with two friends and Sara gave us first-hand insights into the life of Thai people. She was very caring and always made sure the group did not separate despite the busy conditions at the train market. At the floating market she recommended us that best Pad Thai for the cheapest price, 70 Bhat only. We can recommend Sara and the tour!! Thanks

One of the main reasons for booking this tour was to spend time exploring the railway market. However we spent 15 min in the market, yup that’s right I flew across the world for 15 minutes. Ok that’s a little over the top, but you get point. We did however spend 45 minutes at roadside gas station / truck stop food court so maybe the tour should have been labeled truck stop and brief tour of train market.
Part of the reason for truck stop was the guide, who was very nice and knowledgeable, has us ride the train into the market which was cool and an appreciated that experience, however logistically this should have planned better. We could have arrived at the market first, give us the hour to explore and maybe take the train out of the market for a stop to two. The truck stop and “lunch break” at the floating market accounted for the majority of the trip. The floating market was about 40 min or so.
Now let’s talk about the floating market, this one is totally commercialized for tourism. Instead of walking between vendors on the street with exactly the fare for sale, now you go in a boat and see the same stuff. All that being said It is nice to be out on the water.
Who is this tour for, well since I like cultural experiences, this is defiantly not for me. If your looking for off the beaten track, nope. If your looking for new products, hand made crafts etc …. Nope. If a day trip with family is on the agenda sure. If your looking just to “check it out” on a surface level then yup good trip for you. If your a photographer looking for market shots or a traveler who wants to get a good flavor of the area, forget about it, hire a driver and come yourself.
If you happen to have any significant mobility issues I would also steer you away from this tour. Getting on and off the train will be an issue. Also the train market is narrow around the tracks but it does extend further inwards from the tracks. Just so y’a know there are a ton on tourists there and they tend congregate along the train track.
For many this will be a nice escape day from Bangkok and an ok but not an overly memorable experience. I honestly know it take a lot to plan out a day tour, but I really cannot recommend this one.

Hi Carter, probably not. Traffic is quite heavy sometimes and the return trip from the last stop is 2.5 hrs as it is quite a distance away. We didn’t return to BK until after 2:30.

When we booked this tour, we were picked up at Novotek Pratunam. But you can check the app before check out if hotel pick up is available. A backpack is ok, but the van may not have enough space for a medium size luggage

Hi Sandro D,
Private tour means only the 4 of you in the mini van. Big Country tour provides the driver, guide & mini van.
I requested for hotel pickup. It was not a private package so there were 2 passengers in the mini van when the mini van reached my hotel. Afterwhich, the mini van continued to pick up another 5 guests.
The driver dropped us ata train station and we took a train to railway market.
