Floating Markets Day Trip from Bangkok
From US$43.91
Overview
Experience authentic Thai culture on a Damnoen Saduak Floating Market day trip from Bangkok. Unlike other Damnoen Saduak tours, this experience includes an exhilarating ride on a long-tailed speed boat, which transports you to the rural location with efficiency and ease. A guide reveals essential information about the market’s history and produce, and teaches you Thai phrases that help you interact with locals. Convenient hotel pickup and drop-off are also included.
What to Expect

Your day trip begins with pickup from your Bangkok hotel, where you’ll board a vehicle destined for Damnoen Saduak. Upon arrival, you’ll transfer to a long-tailed boat and speed through marshes and past atmospheric stilt houses. En route you’ll receive a comprehensive introduction to the culture and history of the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.

Cruise past floating stalls selling fresh produce and exotic fruits while your guide explains the origin and use of particularly unique ingredients along the way. For an additional cost, you can purchase souvenirs and opt to take a ride on a local boat.

After sufficient exploration of the market, return to your Bangkok hotel via boat and bus.

Tourist trap - waste of time

Unfortunately, there’s almost nothing to see. What to expect: a long drive from Bangkok, overpriced crappy merchendise, and nothing to do but pay for a boat and stay there for half an hour while the driver takes you to different stalls with nothing interesting. Sorry...More

Tourist Trap

Please look elsewhere for some authentic Thai experience. You won't find it here. There is nothing genuine about this, It is a long 2 hour drive; when you arrive you will be summarily ripped off by tour guides. Every store has practically the same products...More

Crowded & Touristic Place

Our hotel suggested us to join it as it was an hour and 45 minutes drive and would be much cheaper to go on our own. It was worth to go but there were a lot of people and lots of boats and got jammed....More

Waste of time

An expensive and complete con, most of the market is closed , constantly harassed for money to buy overpriced crap! Once you arrive you have no option but to get on an overpriced boat. Complete waste of time and money.

Complete waste of time

it takes almost 2 hours to reach this phony attraction. Where once there was a thriving market for fruit and vegetables transported by boat, now the producers use trucks. What's left is a pretend market, which is completely engulfed by trashy souvenirs and aggressive hawkers....More

Try and take a group bus, if you go by cab it’ll cost you 1500 Tb and they’ll stick you for 2000-2500 Tb for private boat. Cheaper is just as good to get feel of area.
