Nyungwe is surely one of the world’s most beautiful and pristine mountain rainforests. It’s believed to be one of Africa’s oldest forests and home to habituated chimpanzees and 12 other primates species (including a 400-strong troop of habituated Ruwenzori Black & White Colobus), it’s also a birder’s paradise with over 300 species, including 16 endemics, and is home to 75 different species of mammal. This majestic rainforest is filled with nature and wildlife experiences for you to emerge yourself in. Very professional, great guides, highly recommended. Although visited the national park on a rainy day we saw many chimpanzees. The canopy was shorter however was fun.

A solid so so. If you have already done the gorillas you will be disappointed. You get woken up at 4 am for the tour. The drive is 1 hour on a very bumpy road. The hike/ trek is not easy. We are youngish (40’s) and fit. It’s a lot of slippery rocks down a steep incline. When
