You don't want to miss out on this! Our guides were amazing. The views breathtaking. There was a family with younger children in our group, and the guides managed to make even the youngest and most cautious in their family a fan of zip lining. My fiancé and I had an awesome time. Quality instruction and excellent safety measures made for the maximum experience for everyone involved. I was a first time zip liner, but others in our group were veterans and the guides catered to every level of experience.

My wife and two daughters (ages 22 and 18) and I love to zipline, and we've been to some really great zip lining courses. This course may not have had the longest or highest ziplines. It's not as deep in the wilderness as some, but it has great guides and a really interesting history. The course is built on a part of what was once Camp Maui which served as the headquarters for the United States 4th Marine Division during WWII. There's even a small museum that houses some cool artifacts and explains the history of the base and the area, most of which has been reclaimed by the surrounding forest. The owner, Derek, joined us on our zipline adventure. He's an interesting guy - very passionate about the history of Camp Maui and happy to answer any questions. Northshore Zipline bills itself as "freestyle zip lining." The guides encouraged us to try spinning, inverted zip lining, and pretty much any other body position we could think of, and they were happy to give us a push or a spin as we left the platforms. At no time did we feel unsafe, and we had a great time. I would definitely recommend North Shore Ziplining to anyone whose looking for some family-friends soft adventure with some great views. And if you go in the morning, you can stop at one of the food trucks in Haiku for lunch. We had a great time!

The people who work there... they really help make it a fun experience! Some waits were longer than we would like but I thought the crew did well considering the shortage of workers that day (1 person running both the incoming and outgoing zipliners, etc.)! We ran into that issue in multiple locations on Maui, including a restaurant that was short 40% of their workers!

The guides were as animated and fun as they could be. The weather was perfect and included some gusty wind and light rain off and on. Weather just made temperature 75 degrees and perfect and the lines ran faster being slick.

We have been on zip lines in Mexico and the lines were much longer and ran 1000's of feet above canyon floors. The thrills were obviously greater but if safety is an issue or little ones are with you, this zip line may be perfect. For me, i was expecting more thrilling lines but that is just me. I tend to drive fast, go mtn bike and dirt bike downhill fast and enjoy thrills. This zipline was fun but not necessarily thrilling for me. My first timer sister enjoyed it very much.

We were all set to take 6 guests for $550. We reserved based on that price but had not yet paid. The next day when i called the booking agent (Michael) to pay, he told us that North Shore Zipline suddenly decided to change their rates from $550 to $880 for our group of 6. Since everything else was booked such as jetskis and mtn bikes, we kept our reservation and paid the $880. When we finished rhe zipline tour, the guides asked for tips but after being upcharged $330, i could not bring myself to tip. They then said not.to take phones for.pictures and that they had a photographer. When we tried to buy, they sold individuals the full set of all phots for $20. That included all pictures of the qhole group. But because we had 3 adults and 3 kids, they said they had to charge $10 additional per person so the same set of pictures would cost me $80 that the solo person bought for $20. I did not like being charged this way.

The company needs some changes although the working folks are pretty good. I would like to see music added to ziplines for additional thrills and bbq food at end as an included benefit of the tour. It could be awesome. They say there are homes nearby so you have to keep quiet so i dont see the music happening. And whoa, what if we could do night ziplines with neon lights racing back and forth as you zip. Ok time but room for improvement.

There was a lot of standing in line waiting since waves of people are sent out rather than moving family groups through as they were ready to go. Additionally, guides were flustered and/or frustrated when harnesses were not clipped or tightened correctly and cursed frequently. There was an issue with knowing who was supposed to go in what group because they operated on hand written lists. Last, for the high price and only seven zips that were about 10 seconds or less each, it did not seem worth price.

Guides were excellent and aimed for fun but this tour felt like a cattle call. One guide stays on each platform and shuttles you through. We spent 20-40 minutes waiting for our next turn after a 20 second zip. Lines run through deforested areas not jungle. We finished our 1:45 tour after 4:25pm and when speaking with the guides, they said we’d be out for about an hour.

Id recommend more transparent marketing and to work on their systems/limits for group size. 7 zips in 3 hours was a disappointment. Even the guides were complaining that this was a new process and the boss was driving them to get 250+ people a day through their outfit.

We cannot recommend North Shore Zipline to visitors to Maui! We paid well In advance & ended up with no zip line experience! The staff and management did not seem in the least sympathetic! Beware! If you have any travel issues and have any delay in arriving there is no traditional Hawaiian hospitality. Despite having taken your reservations & knowing full well that you were planning to take a scheduled experience there is absolutely no leeway in arrival time. The management compared the schedule if their strictly recreational experience to the schedule if a commercial airline! Seriously??? Everyone else and all other recreational experiences on Maui have been exceedingly accommodating, welcoming & understanding of the challenges of travel & family vacations. The staff at the actual zip line stated that their contact number employs staff “who don’t know anything” about the actual operation! Sounds accurate as we had called this contact number twice in the day of our reservations & we’re in no way informed that a family with paid tickets would be denied any zip line experience if they arrived even a few minutes late! And absolutely no refunds, and management makes no apology only accuses the customer of being rude! Our advice; find some more hospitable & responsible zip line experience, don’t go here!

Check-in time for our tour is half hour prior to the tour time. This allows a grace period for anyone running late. You not only missed your check-in time, but you missed your tour time as well. If you had called and told us that you were going to miss your tour time, we possibly could have filled your seats with an earlier arrival from the proceeding tour. We cannot expect guests who arrived promptly to wait for a party that we are not even sure if or when they will be arriving. If one tour starts out late, then all the tours behind it start out late, and that is not fair to our other guests. You were very rude on the phone, yelling as if it was our fault you missed your tour. We have a 24-hour cancelation policy, so you seats were non-refundable. As a courtesy, we were willing to let you reschedule, but you chose not to.

If you are afraid of heights you may like this zipline. If you are not, you most likely will not enjoy it. The lines are well maintained and reliable/safe. The staff not so much. Every employee I spoke to had not been working there for a long period of time. The longest I met was 1 MONTH! The shortest was 4 days... The day-to-day operations are poorly run and it's clear the employees aren't the happiest aside from working in Maui. We overheard the employees talking to a shift leader about lunch breaks and their lunch times are inconsistent in length. Never good sign employees are treated well if they don't have the same set length of time for breaks every day. Due to a clear high turnover rate, operations outside of the lines are poorly run and they can't even figure out how to provide a discount code for when their photos on the last run don't upload. On top of not knowing what to do when photos aren't processed and sent over due to a common technical area with camera transmitting images. They have no system in place to provide proper customer support when an unfortunate situation occurs and photos are not transferred. Their customer service is texting a phone number that does the bare minimum and does not properly handle issues.

During our zipline, we were told about the neighbors who complain about the company and it makes sense due to the poor management. I would also hate to have a poorly run zipline company next to my home with a constant influx of people from out of town and staff who don't stay long enough to be considered regular employees and not temps.

The staff runs through the basic instruction before the line fast. It's like listening to a podcast at 3x speed. I was able to understand it but not everyone in my group was and I had to explain it to them. Not ideal to be paying for an experience to then have to explain what the guide said to others because he said it too fast. Then they get annoyed when people are confused at the first few runs...

On top of all that, the zipline location was not ideal and the lines were low to the ground. If your phone dropped out of your pocket, it would survive the fall. If you somehow fall that is debatable as they did not provide instructions or check the helmets before you go on your first run. My helmet almost fell off while I was on the line. I caught it but not something you want to deal with while you are in the middle of a zipline.

Overall, I do not recommend this business to anyone. I definitely won't be back and would rather skip ziplining than go back to a business that is a trainwreck of an operation. Oh, and their current goal is to have groups larger than what we had which means a more poorly run waste of money experience.

I'm honestly surprised by all of the good reviews. Yes, the staff were all great and safety was a priority, but this was a very wimpy ZipLine course that does not take advantage of the sites of the island at all.

The North Shore course is just a series of ZipLines setup in a field. There are no ocean views or rainforests to be seen. All of the lines are short and close to the ground. I was thoroughly disappointed as I could have had a very similar experience in my home state.

Having done the ZipLines over at Kapalua the year before, this was a major letdown (although significantly cheaper). The Kapalua ZipLines take you up to a mountain where you are hitting good speeds and zipping down impressive rain forests at great heights. This felt like something more designed for pre-teens or the elderly.

All 6 of us were disappointed with our experience. It is described as 7 zip lines and speeds up to 40 mph - supposed to be fun, fast and exhilarating. We did not come close to that speed at any stage. There is only one long run and 4 very shorts ones. The zip lines are quite tame unless this is your very first experience zip lining The staff were friendly, competent and a good focus on safety. They don't allow phones so u can't take pictures. They then charge $15 a person for a few pictures they take on the long run - which for us was $90 as were a group - felt like a rip off. Overall all of us were quite disappointed with the experience.
