Discover the passion and flavors of Hawaii at Luau Kalamaku! Savor a buffet of traditional Hawaiian favorites, beginning with an imu roast pig ceremony. You’ll then be dazzled by a talented troupe of dancers and musicians as they enact legends from Hawaii’s history. The enchanted entertainment includes Polynesian hula dancers, flame throwers and a parade of colorful costumes for a night out in Kauai you won’t soon forget.
What to Expect
Luau Kalamaku has been voted ‘Best Luau Show’ on Kauai by Lonely Planet. To begin your entertaining evening, make your way to the historic Kilohana Plantation, or choose an option that includes hotel pickup. Upgrade to take a ride around the 104-acre (42-hectare) estate on the Kauai Plantation Railway before dinner. Enjoy the lush tropical gardens as you observe traditional Hawaiian crafts and try your hand at some fun island games.

If a dinner option is selected, the feast begins with torch lighting and a Hawaiian imu ceremony, in which a whole roast pig is removed from an underground oven. Dig into a bountiful buffet of island favorites, including mahi mahi, teriyaki chicken, lomi lomi salmon and a variety of local vegetables, fresh fruit and side dishes. Mingle with other guests as you dine, and complete your meal with a delicious tropical drink from the bar (own expense).

With your appetite satisfied, head inside the Luau Pavilion for an unforgettable show that tells the story of the first Tahitian explorers to land on Hawaiian shores. Watch the mesmerizing tricks of flame twirlers, plus the graceful choreography of Polynesian dancers wearing traditional costumes. Live music accompanies the show, including powerful drumming on instruments handmade by the musicians.
After the show, you’ll have a chance to meet the performers and take photos before heading back out into the warm Hawaiian night.

My two grandsons 5 and 7 thoroughly enjoyed their first luau. The imu ceremony was awesome. Practicing hula ahead of time was great too and they loved having their pictures taken with the performers. The buffet was excellent from an adult point of view. Excellent...More

Norwegian's Pride of America Excursion

We celebrated our 50th anniversary during this week and took our family to the luau. Comfortable air-conditioned buses drove us to the luau, about a 15 or 20 minute ride. There are a few shopping booths set up outside the luau if you would like...More

Show was interesting. Buffet dinner was poor.

This is one I would skip if I had a do-over. The performance was entertaining. The fire dancers were the highlight. The buffet was just not very good at all. For the amount of money it cost I would think they could put a little...More
