- Pauyogi00Scooter tour on DCI had a really good day with Barry and the scooter tour!! It was totally worth it. It was fun, and good, and adventurous… Barry knows a lot and took me to the best spots in DC. Plus he helped me with a lot of pics. He taught me how to ride the scooter and took me in the safest way possible. Thank you!
- Trail7629560010/10 experienceOur family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) just had the absolute best time during our tour with Barry. He is knowledgeable, fun and full of energy and made our 2.5 hour tour a very enjoyable experience for all. Seriously, money best spent on our short trip to DC!
- cmK4276UJ00Perfect blend of history and action! The scooter tour was amazing! I was a first time scooter rider and Barry made sure our whole group was comfortable and safe before embarking on our tour. It was such a great way to see the monuments and learn about DC.
- Claire C00Top-quality DC tour that is funky-fun!Looking for a top-quality DC tour that is funky-fun, not stuffy? Look no further than Adventure DC Tricycle Tours! Barry took us to his favorite hidden treasures right along the National Mall - sites I would have never found on my own. Do you know about the echo chamber at the Canadian Embassy? We went by scooter, he also leads tours via pedicab. It's a great time!
- DC_JRo00"HIdden Gems" of DC on a super speedy scooter!Barry put together a custom tour for our business after work (a different kind of happy hour, for sure!). Even though we had people in the group with zero experience riding a scooter, there was plenty of time to practice and get comfortable before the whole group took off to see the sights. The scooters were a fast and fun way to zip around the city! There were plenty of stops to see and learn about unique/ offbeat sites. My favorite part was that one person in our group was a certified DC tour guide as well (tough audience!), but Barry came up with sites/ perspectives that she hadn't seen before. He really knows his stuff! At the end of the tour, you felt like you had been hanging out with a super cool local friend, not just a tour guide.
- apriljoy062000Best Way for Families to See DCOUTSTANDING! Fantastic Tour around DC! I brought my two young sons (4&6) to DC for the first time; I wanted them to have a memorable experience, so I booked an Adventure DC Tricycle Tour. Our guide was helpful and SUPER accommodating with me and my boys, he was easy to schedule and he even helped me find a parking spot. He tailored the tour to our family's needs, and made each spot fun and interesting for young children, we truly couldn't have asked for a better experience! We all had such a BLAST! It was a little cold, but our guide was so entertaining we barely noticed the chill. My boys enjoyed our tour more than I expected; our guide really did have them cracking up the whole time weaving silly jokes and goofy antics in with fun facts about DC. I don't even think they realized how much they were learning. He even took some phenomenally silly photos for us, he knew the best spots for kids pictures. From my 6 year old: Our guide was funny, he told us jokes that made us laugh. Going down the hill really fast was thrilling! I liked the things he brought us to see. My favorite stop along our tour was the Treasury. Our guide was hilarious, I want to go back to DC again. He must be a mushroom, because he's such a FUNGI! From my 4 year old: My favorite thing that we saw was that bird sculpture. I liked it when he peddled really fast, and he was pretending we were going to eat him up, that made me laugh a lot. Our guide told good jokes, he was funny. ................................. This was definitely THE HIGHLIGHT of our trip! 1000% Recommend to anyone visiting DC. #MOMAPPROVED
- rachelmB6547UR00Excellent Tour!Barry was such a great tour guide. My girls - 8 and 5 - said that the tour was the favorite part of our trip to DC. Barry really engaged them and we learned so much, me included! Highly recommend!
- Barefootpat00ExcellentBarry was the best. We learned so much from him. We enjoyed listening to him and his jokes. Every time we passed a statue he would stop and tell us who it was and tell us about the person. He told us about every monument and museum. He kept in mind my mom had mobility issues and always positioned the pedicab at the monuments and statues so she could get a good look at everything from her seat. We had a folding transport wheelchair and he put it behind where he was sitting and took it off when we wanted to get out and look around. We booked the limo pedicab and it fit my mom, my daughter and myself comfortably with room for our bags of water and the bag of things I may need for my mom. I highly recommend Barry and using the limo cab. Next time we go to DC we will definitely give him a call. Thank Barry. We really enjoyed our day.
- brookew42700Great experience! Perfect way to see the monuments! We had a fantastic time with Barry seeing the Monuments and Memorials! He communicated so well with us leading up to the tour and then was right at the top of the escalator from the metro waiting for us! It was wonderful with our kids and made things so personal and entertaining. It the perfect way to see the monuments and we would highly recommend it!! Thank you, Barry!!
- jordanwX2390GY00the absolute best way to see and learn about DCThis was the most wonderful way to allow our entire family (kids ages 8 and 10; 2 adults) to see and learn about the beauty and history of DC. I don't actually think that I can imagine a better way to do it - this was personalized to us, allowed for time in and out at the monuments/memorials we were most interested in seeing up close, did not require a ton of walking (=tired kids), does not harm the environment, and we learned SO MUCH in a really fun way from Barry, who is just simply a delightful human being and a great, energetic, engaging teacher (all while pulling us around! I could not recommend this more highly. This is a part of our trip that our entire family talks about as the highlight, and will be an important family memory and learning experience. Thank you Barry!!!
- C5622PTjeffm00Great Tour - Lots of fun and educational for adults and kidsThis tour was really amazing. Our daughters 8+10 enjoyed it so much and really got into the historical facts that our tour guide presented. When we booked we thought it was.a little pricey, but I can tell you it is well worth it! Would do it again in a second. Definitely sign up if your considering it, you will not be disappointed. -Jeff
- FJT201100Perfect Way to See the National Mall!Through the Adventure DC Tricycle Tours website, we left our information and scheduled a private tricycle tour. The interesting and advantageous way this tour works is, you schedule it without paying anything, but within an hour or so, the owner of the company calls you to discuss your tour. This is a very friendly and personable way to do business, you might say it is excellent customer service! It is the personal touch that makes Adventure DC so great. We spoke with Barry about what kind of tour we were looking for, what we wanted to see, and how much time and money we wanted to spend. He designed a morning tour tailor-made for us. The day before, he called to make sure everything was still as he discussed. The day of, he was prepared with lots of energy, and lots of great information about everything we wanted to see. He left us time to get off and look around at certain monuments. He was also very engaging with our shy son, telling jokes and being so nice to him. He really went above-and-beyond for our tour. We learned so much and my husband got to ask all the questions he wanted. Really it's the best way to get around the National Mall: you are in a cozy tram attached to a bicycle. The National Mall is so spread-out and it would have deflated us from trying to see everything. With Barry's tour, we could relax, enjoy the ride, and learn a lot.
- LadyTazzard00My First Time in DCI scheduled this online and immediately received a phone call from Barry about my tour and if I had questions. He told me the best place to park and where we would meet. Upon my arrival in DC I was in awe (first time in the Capital) and looking forward to my tour. We started the tour with me and my dog, Lady, who Barry took to right away, and who immediately jumped out of the tricycle. We got her more secured and off we went. The Covid 19 "memorial" at the Washington Monument was in the process of being set up was inspiring. We were at the Vietnam Memorial and the skies opened up and poured soaking all of us. Barry called for a taxi to get me back to my vehicle as quickly as possible and we would continue the tour another day. Three days later, I went into DC again for the rest of my tour on a better weather day. Barry had many little tidbits about almost every building toured. I only wish I could remember half of what he told me. Thanks Barry for a wonderful and first time for us in DC. Sandi and Lady
- rebeccavand00INCREDIBLE TOURBarry is an INCREDIBLE TOUR GUIDE!! He is so knowledgeable about all of the monuments, and I loved the stories he shared! He went out for almost 4 hours because we had such a blast! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
- gabriellafO200Biker Barry! 10/10Barry is an absolute GEM! He is extremely knowledgeable about all things Washington DC and knows his way around, keeping us safe at all times. He tailored the tour to us and what we wanted to see/ learn about. He is extremely personable and makes learning about historic places the most fun!

My husband and I both love Washington DC and have travelled there many times. Over the years we have experienced many different tours and tourist options. For our recent visit we had a free day and were looking for something fun and different. Adventure DC Tricycle Tours looked interesting. It was more than that! Our guide Barry was terrific. His tour was knowledgable and comprehensive with great stories and a natural dialogue. We know a lot, but he kept our interest the entire time and shared a number of great "unknown gems" We loved all of it and cannot recommend highly enough.

Susan, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am so pleased that you enjoyed our tour and your guide's knowledge! It is always great to hear from satisfied customers like yourself. And it's amazing that despite your many times visiting DC, you still were able to be fascinated. Part of it comes from the nature of the city, I suppose. But also it seems your guide was great. We're so glad to hear that and we'll pass on your words. Very kind!

Highly recommend taking this tour. Step was very knowledgeable in all the monuments history and provided information on DC as well. . We loved the pace as you were able to take everything in and Step made it a lot of fun, even in .93 degree heat. Beats being on a bus with a lot of people, your own personal tour. Don’t miss it.

Steph and Blue are AMAZING tour guides! They’re very knowledgeable and passionate. They were really animated and engaging with us, and it made for a really fun experience learning about DC’s history.
Riding around in the back of the pedicab, while learning about the cool old buildings, was really neat and romantic. We also stopped at a few different monuments, walked around some, and took some cute pictures.
They were very accommodating and sweet, and I HIGHLY recommend taking their tour!

This was an amazing tour! Barry was a phenomenal tour guide, experienced pedicab driver, and a great pleasure to spend the day with! He was so knowledgeable about all the history of this fabulous city! If you have MOBILITY ISSUES, this is definitely the way to go! We were able to tour comfortably and privately, going where we wanted, at the perfect pace to see everything at leisure and take pictures of everything with an unobstructed view, to stop when we felt like stopping, and enjoy the fresh open air! Barry took us right up to all the best spots, explaining all the rich history as we went, took pictures of us, and even got me a wheelchair at the Lincoln Monument! I can't imagine touring D.C. in a more enjoyable way! He picked us up and dropped us off right at our hotel! It was a perfect day!

Thank you for your most detailed review of the tour! I do believe we offer the best tour of the monuments and memorials on the National Mall, hearing that your experience was "magical" makes me almost giddy!
Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your experience with future DC visitors. As you know, we offer one of the few private tours that is both kid-friendly and dog-friendly. Your words are so extraordinarily kind, and both my small company and I are most appreciative.
Thank you again for writing this amazing review. You and your family are welcome back any time!

This was the best day of our Washington DC trip because of this amazing tour -- and we all got to ride around Washington DC on a tricycle! The tour guide entertained the family with engrossing stories and facts. I really can't say enough about this experience.
A couple of things you should be aware of, in case you're thinking about booking with them (which you should!). At the time of this posting, Adventure DC Tricycle Tours:
1. Allows for Easy postponement
2. Charges no cancellation fee
For those worried about rain (or other bad weather), the weather was not on our side either. But they suggested changing our tour date allowing for warm sunny skies instead of cold rain. And they had complete covering that could be added to the cab if the weather got cold.
We had so much fun being shown around DC learning about the memorials and getting fascinating insights. Our fantastic guide narrated the whole tour and customized the route based on our interests. We saw a LOT in a short period of time.
To answer a couple of question:
* Is it Kid-friendly? YES! And our kids loved it.
* Does it get too hot with the sun beating down outside? No. Everyone is canopy-protected from the sun, and there's more extensive protection if it the weather gets bad.
* Is this a customizable tour? YES! It's completely customizable.
* Is this tour good for families? Absolutely. As the creator of "A Sailor's Wife" Blog I am always on the lookout for family-friendly activities, and this one fits the bill perfectly. Both the adults (me and my husband) and the kids loved it.
Summary: HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I had a couple friends come to visit DC. Being new to the area, I wasn’t sure what to show them. I’m so happy we did the tour. Steph and Blue were great tour guides. They gave us an exciting and informative tour of all of the monuments. They stopped where ever we wanted and let us explore while telling us the history of each location. They were funny, kind and accommodating. They even showed us a great late night sushi place called hammeltons. 10/10 would highly recommend.

3 longtime friends and I decided to take a long weekend trip to Washington DC and wanted to see all the sites. We made reservations for 2 pedicabs and they cycled us around to all the monuments and memorials and gave us all the background history for each. They gave us time to get out and take pictures and walk up to each if we wanted. This pair was was very fun, friendly and knowledgeable of all the sites. I was also in charge of getting pictures of Flat Stanley at all the sites for my grandson and they were very accommodating. I highly recommend seeing the sites by way of the pedicab for the ease of getting around and the fun facts.

What fun! For my birthday I did a bike tour with 5 friends (2 trikes) all around DC. Our tour guides, Steph and Barry, were so amazing! Friendly, engaging, and super knowledgeable about the city. Beyond the major attractions they pointed out all kinds of interesting tidbits along the way, and answered all of our questions as well. Even though I have lived in the city for a little while now, I still learned a LOT, and saw many things I didn't even know existed! This is really the most amazing way to see the sights in DC. Strongly recommend!
