Wonderful Blue Whale watching experience April 2024
26th of April 2024. I had dreamt of this my whole life and I knew deep down there was a chance we wouldn’t see blue whales because you know…nature and all, but I wasn’t disappointed. I travelled from Victoria with my family just for this for my 50th birthday. I cannot fault the team at Whale Watch Western Australia. The staff (all female crew yay, bar the skipper) were fantastic. Wonderful hospitality for all of us. It was well worth it in my opinion to see even a glimpse. The way they managed to track them was amazing! The photographs supplied were great as well. The commentary was knowledgeable and professional. Just remember that when you are going to see Blue Whales you’re not going to see the full size of the giant as they don’t breach. I cannot thank you all enough for my special day! ❤️

Feels like I keep being taken for a ride
I was booked on this last year. Ever since I was a little kid I have wanted to see a blue whale and I was so excited, even though I am so prone to sea sickness and it is an ordeal for me to go so far out to sea. I spent a fortune on seasickness tablets and set aside the day, only to be told the day before that they had decided to postpone it a day. This meant the trip was on mother's day and I, like many other people, had a family commitment. I was so disappointed and had to wait a whole year. Anyway, they were going for one weekend this year. I booked weeks in advance, got the sea sickness tablets, got up early, paid a fortune for parking and then spent seven hours out at sea feeling sick and seeing no whales. I get nature tours are unpredictable, but thr girl commentating sounded desperate to see a whale from the beginning and had zero confidence in her voice that we would. I have never heard such uncertainty on a tour before. I wish I had known that I was paying the GDP per capital of a small African country for only a very small chance of seeing a whale. She was just excited when we finally saw dolphins, which I have seen many of. I was kicked off the bow by another customer for no reason and couldn't see much anyway. We are offered a voucher to come back as part of their no sighting policy. No refunds. Well, I have spewed my guts up all over the deck of their orca tour and humpbacks are easy enough to see. It means waiting a whole year to pay even more for parking, before a 2 hour trip just to get to the watching site, followed by a whole five hours of driving around in the off chance that we may see one. I predict another year and another disappointment. And a lot can happen in a year that you can't go. They need to be way more honest and not mess people around.

      Orca’s Ahoy
Just WOW! Cruised out 90 mins into the Southern Ocean, beyond sight of land and met up with a pod of Orca’s that seemed genuinely happy to see the boat and came over to find us. Spent 4 hours drifting along with them as they cruised around hunting and diving, before heading back towards land. An amazing experience to be up close to the animals and see how they lived very in the wild. If you do get sea, sick make sure you take medication before hand! We had a relatively calm day but it is the Southern Ocean, swells of +3m and once you slow down and start following the whales, the motion gets worse than where you were speeding out to start with. Also Bremer Bay is a long way from anywhere, make sure you bring what you need for the night with you or arrive early in the afternoon before the local store close.

Great experience BUT take anti sickness tablets!!!
Great experience, BUT be aware to take sickness tablets night before or on the day as there were a lot of people that were sick on the boat. It is very rough out there! Also would have liked to of heard what the lady was saying on the speaker but where we were too it was very difficult to hear anything and didn’t want to move and leave our spot. Every time they spotted whales they would move the boat to the left instead of giving each side a good look. But overall good experience another one ticked off of the bucket list.

      Orca Dinner
I didn't take any sea sickness tablets having recently been on a motor yacht from Gold Coast to Sydney and being OK BUT whilst I didnt vomit I got close seeing what seemed like half the boat vomiting. Crew were great at handling everyone but TAKE THE ADVICE and take some tablets the night before and in the morning as it is rough! Once we got to the end of the continental shelf and we sore the Orcas I was distracted enough to be fine and really appreciate what we were able to witness. A pod devouring their dinner - sadly another whale but we didn't see that at the time. Just lots of Orca's loving life. The shearwater birds and an albatross all taking advantage of scraps making it an amazing experience. I was able to take some good photos from up front on my phone and some videos but having the professional photos free to download was an added bonus ! Really recommend the trip just take tablets as it is the big wide bumpy ocean! Loved it thanks for this experience and knowledge.

Another exceptional tour with this company. Blue Whales galore!
This was my second tour with this outfit. This time with my 10 year old grandson. It was beyond my expectations. I expected to maybe have one or two Blue Whale interactions but I lost count of how many we had. A great day. We also interacted with a large pod of Dolphins who were hunting. A relaxed but professional crew, good food and great service. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend this tour as a trip for anyone in the family from grandparents to younger children. I will certainly be joining this company again.

      Bremer Bay Orcas
Despite the rough weather this was an amazing experience. The crew were awesome - friendly and knowledgeable. The onboard photographer makes sure that you will be able to get brilliant photos of your trip with free downloads so you can just watch the orcas and not worry about trying to get photos. Light snacks provided throughout the day and comfortable seating. They knew exactly what to look for to make sure everyone had a great day and we saw heaps of Orcas!!!

      UNFORGETTABLE !!!
We recently spent two consecutive days with the Exceptional - Whale Watch Western Australia crew experiencing the absolute JOY of watching MAGNIFICENT ORCAS in the Bremer Bay Canyon. Both days were completely different and we were fortunate to have brilliant weather conditions. Day 1 we were lucky to see about 200 Pilot whales and their dolphin companions on the way out to the canyon.....SPECTACULAR !! The remainder of the day we spent following about 8 individual Orca foraging for food. Whist we didn't have that many close encounters as they were extremely focused on their search for a meal, it was wonderful to see them in their natural environment and the constant commentary provided was incredibly informative and added to the value of the experience. Day 2 was AMAZING !!!! Having fed the night or early morning before, the Orca were in a VERY Playful mood and entertained us for HOURS !!! We watched as they played with one another, breaching, tail slapping, doing laps of the boat, singing, sharing food, gently playing with a large and magnificent Sunfish, before allowing it to safely swim away. It was a feast for our senses and so humbling to watch these Gentle Giants of the Ocean enjoy themselves. There were pods of Orca visible in every direction and when they approached the boat they happily put on a show for us. The Crew were FANTASTIC and go out of their way to ensure everyone is well looked after. There was food available throughout the day and a celebratory glass of beer or bubbles on the journey home. The depth of knowledge and understanding of the crew about each individual Orca, and the different pods is shared with everyone during the tour. It is SO obvious how much this family and crew Respect, Admire and Love the Orcas and their jobs. T This is a Bucket List Experience. Just Do it !!

      Amazing Experience
We did the Bremer Bay Orca Experience with Whale Watch Western Australia in Feb 2023. What an amazing day! We were very well looked after, from checking in at the wharf to departing in the afternoon. The vessel is large and comfortable with plenty of room to move around. Coffee, tea, drinks and snacks available and we were offered food frequently throughout the day. We had a lovely fine day but there were significant swells when we reached the Bremer Canyon. We spent several hours following the orcas (without interfering with them in any way). The commentary was very good and the knowledge of the crew was outstanding. The crew were very attentive and friendly, happy to have a chat and answer a myriad of questions. We saw many, many orcas and pilot whales - it was amazing. I would recommend this tour to anyone - just make sure you dose up on travel sick tablets (it is a long day in the Southern Ocean) and take a warm jacket. Photos are supplied free of charge . Loved our day - Thank you Whale Watch Western Australia (The white boat ) :D

Lots of orcas and friendly crew
The staff were all so lovely and the boat was comfortable and modern. Within an hour and a half we saw lots of orcas in their natural environment which is a real dream come true for me! We also saw a shark and a couple of dolphins and sea lions. The staff are super knowledgeable and were regularly pointing out where the orcas were. I learned a lot about behaviour/lifestyle/anatomy. One negative was that if you’re downstairs at the front of the boat, make sure you move quickly to see the orcas, especially if they come close, because otherwise the view is blocked by other guests and they tend to stay there until the orcas are out of sight - maybe there should be a system implemented to swap people around so everybody can get a good view. There is still plenty of opportunity to see them but when they are close to the boat people tend to gather. I actually found upstairs better viewing because there were less people so we could move around freely and see all the orcas that come and go. Even if you don’t usually get travel sick, TAKE SEA SICKNESS TABLETS!!! It was a calm day today and crew said it was great weather conditions but it was still pretty rocky and people were being sick everywhere. They were inside and outside, upstairs and downstairs, you couldn’t get away from the sound/sight of people getting sick. It was extremely distressing and I didn’t expect it to be half as bad as it was (made worse because I have emetophobia - I have now cancelled future tours in the sea because of the people with sea sickness). The staff were great for the poorly people though - very sympathetic and quick and eager to help. The way back was a much smoother journey. I feel like it should be mandatory for people to take sea sickness tablets, unless advised otherwise by a doctor, but I’m not sure if that’s legally allowed. Another negative was that we came across a boat from another company who interrupted natural orca behaviour by almost driving on top of them. One of the crew members on our boat was bad mouthing this company via the microphone. Whilst I completely agree with what was being said and that the other company was wrong to behave as they did, I think openly bad mouthing another company is quite unprofessional. Anyway, all in all seeing the orcas was amazing and I’m glad I did the tour. Thank you to this lovely company.

      Orca experiences !!!
Planned to have this trip for almost two years, after the border restrictions has been lifted, I booked the ticket right away from Melbourne heading straight to Albany, Western Australia (well I have to stop via Perth first ) the tour was amazing and full of whale information, also the crews were attentive and friendly. The crew tried to provide the utmost services to make you feel welcome and relax, they are willing to assist you in anyway when the seasick hit you so hard. I do recommend to take a seasick tablet on the night before you get on board, and another one on the day of the trip. Those tablets will save and help you during the trip on the roughest sea. On the day of the tour, we met little Warnie (the cub without the dorsal fin) he was so adorable and he tried to imitating the breeching like the adults orca, such a wonderful experience to witness this little amazing orca. Finally, this trip and combined with great crews were everything that I was hyped to joining from the last two years, after I joined the pod, I came back to Melbourne with full of joy and happiness. They are the best !!!

      Very disappointed
I was very disappointed with my trip to the Bremer Canyon I was aware that this boat does not handle the Southern Ocean well as I watch both boats go past Short Beach each morning The day I was onboard the conditions were a bit sloppy with some swell but the boat was like a cork in a whirlpool which accounted for the high percentage of sea sick passengers I learnt nothing about the wildlife we saw as the Marine biologist was inside the cockpit talking over the PA system which meant that out on the deck it was impossible to hear above the noise of the ocean, the boat and the wind what she was saying I was not the only one with this problem For the same price it is a much shorter day and on many occasions passengers have missed out on afternoon encounters No interaction with Skipper as to where we going or charts to check on and the chance to ask questions Credit to the girls who worked tirelessly tending to the sea sick passengers but otherwise I found the crew did not mingle with the passengers much and did not seem very enthusiastic when wildlife was spotted Would not recommend this trip to anybody that doesnt have good sea legs

      The best Orca experience!
This is our 2nd Orca tour as we were very fortunate to go on tour last year & again we absolutely loved it. All the staff were amazing with their hospitality service & knowledge of the Orcas as they also had a Marine Biologist as part of the crew. We were able to witness these majestic creatures up close & it’s truly something you never forget. I can’t wait to go on other whale tours & I can’t fault anything about the whole day. I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful organisation & I would thoroughly recommend you book with the best!

      Magical day with the orcas!
Thank you so much to WWWA for the most magical day with the beautiful Bremer Bay orcas. Not only did we see hours worth of orcas coming up to the boat and playing around but the trip itself was also a lovely experience. The crew went above and beyond to make it enjoyable bringing out food while we were watching them (even special veggie food for me) and offering drinks including a glass of champagne at the end. The boat was really smart with lots of different places to watch the orca from. A side note not related to the company - my husband and I had luckily taken a sea sick tablet before so did not suffer at all but there were a few on board who did so it is worth taking one before you go.

An excellent day on the water. We left from Augusta boat harbour and saw a number of humpback whales on their migration including one with distinctive black and white markings. Unfortunately no breaches occurred which was disappointing but that's the luck of the draw as they say. The guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic in her commentary and clearly has a passion for all things to do with whales! The boat itself was comfortable and well designed for the task. It was not the original boat booked as the boat featuring the captains lounge was unavailable. A full refund or a refund of the difference in price was offered. I totally recommend this tour

A spectactular journey out looking at the whales. The knowledge of the crew and the way the crew all were truly professional. We saw whales quickly and enjoyed every second of this tour. Took the time to ensure we had Captain's Lounge Upgrade (would highly recommend this) and we were provided with a great pampering, clear, uninterrupted views of the whales and great information about the whales and the great enthusiasm from Helen was well worth it. My mum is still raving about it to her friends (5 hours after the tour). The upgrade provided us with 3 other people on the bridge of the vessel. I loved the entire tour and would not hesitate to encourage others to do it too.

A brilliant trip. Plenty of humpback and southern right. Close enough for good photos. Boat wasnt overcrowded so there was plenty of opportunity to view. Informative crew, although a speaker in the cabin would be good so those sitting inside can here the narrative a little better. 2/3 hour cruise time is ideal. Would recommend.

The whale watching trip was spectacular, we saw a number of different humpback whale pods. Our absolute highlight was a mother and a calf diving right underneath the vessel. The trip took about two and a half hours and was definitely worth it. Overall the services and commentary of the crew were good. I recommend this tour to anyone looking to see whales in Australia.

Our Tuesday trip was cancelled due to bad weather. But the team was very prompt in rescheduling another trip on Thursday with Paul and Sherri’s yacht.

My husband and I had a great time watching the humpback whales, southern rights, and the occasional dolphin. Our pre-schoolers were seasick the whole time and decided to nap it out. :)

Overall I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone that wants to see whales up close. But take the anti-nausea pills beforehand as the waters can get choppy.

Myself and my Grandma loved this experience earlier this week. We were lucky enough to stumble across two male humpbacks that were eager to show off and entertain us for nearly an hour. The experience of seeing that beautiful giants up close and personal was extraordinary. Couldn’t have asked for a better day out at sea or for a better team of people, all lovely and just as excited as the passengers at times. I would highly recommend this trip out 💙

What a wonderful trip. Crew are amazing. Very friendly and willing to share their knowledge. We had the privilege of alerting the rescue teams to rescue a whale who got a bit tangled in a Cray pot. That's cool that the captain was able to call that in and stayed in the area to ensure a rescue.
We saw a number of humpbacks who were very curious about the boat.
Great tour, worth every dollar and some. The back office team also did a great job. They moved us forward as the weather forecast for our scheduled trip was going to he rough. Thanks team. Highly recommend.
