Lahemaa National Park Day Trip
Escape from Tallinn for a visit to Lahemaa National Park, Estonia's oldest and largest national park. Drive around the park with a local guide who will fill you in on Estonian history as you go. Along the way you'll discover sandy shorelines, wander among bogs, stumble upon old Soviet ruins like an abandoned submarine station and see exquisite centuries-old manor houses. There'll also be some time to explore Käsmu, known as 'the captain's village.' Participants on this day trip are limited to 8 people, assuring a more personalized experience.
What to Expect
- Enjoy a scenic walk of northern Estonia's coastline
- Visit the Käsmu Captains Village (entry to the maritime museum included)
- Admire at Vihula, Palmse or Sagadi manors
- Get a breath of fresh air on a forest & bog walk
- Discover an abandoned Soviet submarine base
- Explore wild rivers & waterfalls
- Beaver trail (optional)
- Old Phosphorite Mines (optional)
- Lunch at an authentic local village home (approximately 10 Euros, not included)

Please dress according to the weather and wear proper shoes for walking (waterproof would be great in winter)

Our guide Kristel was very informative, kind, and genuine. We enjoyed each location and the stories about them (seaside, manors, bog). Lunch was superb (unless you don’t like salmon)! One thing that could be made clearer was how tips worked. The website indicates optional, but...More

We met at the tourist information office in old town Tallinn, so there’s no pick up at hotels. As part of the tour, we walked about 4 km over a board walk, that at points is narrow, 2 feet at most. Not suitable for someone... More
