What to Expect
Choose your departure time, and meet your private guide in central Budapest to start your walking tour. If there’s something you want to see more of, let your guide know: your tour is private so your itinerary can be tailored around you.

Make your way to St. Stephen’s Basilica, the 19th-century church named after Hungary’s first king, Stephen I. Head inside to admire the ornate interior and some of its treasures. Ride on Budapest’s metro, and view Pest highlights including the State Opera House and Parliament building, together with lesser-known gems that most visitors miss.

Stroll around Heroes Square as you learn the significance of its monuments, and hear about Budapest’s passion for hot springs outside the grandiose Széchenyi bathhouse.

Head to Budapest’s Castle District, tracing the cobblestone streets past baroque houses and Gothic archways. Listen as your guide explains how Buda’s first residents settled here in the 13th century, and admire Mathias Church, the 14th-century church where many Hungarian monarchs were crowned.

Plus, pass through the Central Market Hall, the vast food marketplace brim with stands selling cured meats, cheeses, paprika, and other Hungarian favorites.

After four hours of exploring, your tour concludes when your guide departs.
