We visited Auschwitz via this tour company.

The payment was easy and reasonably priced, our driver (Pawel) was very good and messaged me the day before our trip via WhatsApp to confirm final details - this was very helpful and put our minds at rest.

Pawel was on time in the morning and got us to Auschwitz on time, he was very helpful and answered other questions about our stay in Krakow whilst travelling.

On arrival everything was explained to us and we got given our headsets and then guided around, the tour was very informative and really well constructed, at no point did I feel that I was being rushed or the guide was not armed with the information.

The experience was harrowing but I must do if you are in Krakow or nearby towns, I would recommend this tour company 100 times over!

This was actually my second time visiting Poland and doing an Auschwitz tour so I have a bit of experience to compare this particular tour with. I’ll also only focus on the trip to and from the concentration camp itself and the related pieces as once you are there, you are sort of handed off to the camp’s tour guide as they are independent of each other. At that point, you fall into a queue and are placed in the hands of the museum’s tour system for the majority of the time you are there.

I was contacted a few days prior to the tour by the driver asking where I’d like to be picked up and that communication was clear and polite. The night before, the driver again contacted me again and asked if my wife and I wanted a lunch that they would provide. I recommend this as the museum food area is often pretty busy and it may be difficult to access it when everyone else is as well.

The driver, Mario, texted us again the morning of the trip with time updates so we knew exactly when he’d arrive. He was right on time with his estimate and since we were the last to be picked up, we ended up sitting up front with him. We had a great conversation on the way to the camp. We hit him with a lot of questions since up to that point on our Poland trip, we didn’t have anything other than Google to assist in understanding how a lot of things worked in his country. He was a great driver and played a historical documentary about the ghetto and liquidation of the Jews from the ghettos.

Half way through the tour, since it is split between Auschwitz and Birkenau, Mario met us with our lunches and drive us to the second location. Again, he was prompt, polite, and helped make sure our group got to where we needed to go. After the Birkenau portion, we headed back to our drop off location.

After the tour, my wife and I both had many mixed emotions about what happened there and we had a lot to discuss with Mario since this is his native land. To get the insight of a local was invaluable and was the first time we were able to discuss it with someone from Poland in a deep meaningful way. One of the questions that you end up asking yourself after the tour is “how this can happen?” and a bit of nihilism tends to set in. That was immediately evaporated though when we got onto a discussion about the current Ukrainian war and the refugees. When they started arriving in Poland, Mario and his fellow drivers went to the border to offer rides back into the cities and he went on to describe how many Polish families were housing Ukrainians, just because it was the right thing to do. This is something that won’t ever be advertised by this tour company and isn’t directly related to the process of the tour but we both felt that the story had to be told much like the history of the camp must be. It was a bright light at the end of a dark tunnel of learning about Poland’s history and If you ever read this Mario, you are a great human being and it was a pleasure talking with you. Thank you for making the end of our Poland trip perfect.

Our trip was very well organised and we had lots of communication from Thomas our driver confirming times of pick up the day before and whether we would like a packed lunch which cost about £7each which I would recommend you opt for as it’s very busy at the cafe in Auschwitz.
The lady who conducted our tour spoke excellent English and led the tour in a sympathetic manner.
After spending a couple of hours at Auschwitz we had a 15 minute lunch break and were then driven to the Birkenau camp. There was quite a bit of walking so make sure you wear comfy shoes as we had trouble keeping up at some points!
We were picked up early in the morning around 7.50 and returned to our hotel around 2.30-3pm.
I highly recommend this tour, it was very well organised and we were kept well informed.
Thank you Thomas and thanks for your restaurant recommendations, we had a great meal at Sioux in the old town of Krakow!

Our 0730 hotel pickup was 15 minutes late. Pleasant, courteous driver arrived in a clean 9 passenger mini van. We made two more pickups, for a total of 8 people. Our driver made it clear that he was not a tour guide when someone asked a general question about Auschwitz. The tour web site said a documentary might be available, it was not mentioned by the driver.
The entrance to Auschwitz was crowded with school children. We queued up and were joined by another group of about 25 people. We went from a small group of 8 to well over 30. Our large group was assigned an Auschwitz tour guide. We were given head sets and transponders. The tour guide held his transponder in his hand creating lots of static which made it difficult to hear. He was very soft spoken to the point of “whispering.” He walked very quickly, not allowing time to stop and take a photo or ask questions. Several people said they could not hear him. He ignored us and kept sprinting. Some of the exhibits were similar to going through a turn style. The tour guide never did a head count or turned around to see if anyone was following him.
We opted to buy the tour companies lunch bag. It would have been a great value if we were allowed enough time to eat it. We took two bites of our sandwich and tossed them in the trash because the driver was waving us to the bus. Ten minutes to eat and/or use the toilet is totally ridiculous! The tour companies web site states that the museum dictates the “10 minute” limit between sites, then why do some tours state 20 minutes?
We got back in the van to cross over to part 2 of the tour, Birkenau and joined the other larger group. Our guide was there but now without headsets or a microphone. It was impossible to keep pace with him or hear anything he said.
During our ride back to the hotel the bus driver chatted about how great it was that business is picking up and how much revenue they lost over the past two years. He also said that the guides can move quickly and get in several tours in one day to make extra money. This was very disturbing to hear. We the tourists, who travel great distances to see these historical sites and absorb their significance should not be short changed by the greed of some. The driver dropped one couple directly at their hotel but the remaining 6 people had to walk back to their respective hotels. He said there was a lot of traffic! Per web site, drop off at point of pickup?

We planned this trip for over 3 years and are deeply disappointed.
Auschwitz-Birkenau deserves to be experienced with reverence, dignity and respect. It should not be rushed through.

Dear Sir/Madame, Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion about our services. It is regrettable that your tour to Auschwitz and Birkenau did not satisfy you. Please allow me to address a couple of your concerns. Please understand that we do not have any influence on guides inside the camps. Every day we have different guide provide by museum. Auschwitz Birkenau Museum is a state owned institution, and in fact due to millions of tourists each year visiting the camps, they have sometimes problems with proper organization. We send your complains there, but no answer usually. I am really sorry for that, but that is the problem of over-visited places sometimes. We would love to change it somehow, but it is out of our control. Also please note, that all the tour companies providing 'tours' to Auschwitz have exactly the same problem. Guided tour of Auschwitz Birkenau, which takes a total of 3 hours 30 minutes. You have headphones in the first camp, there are no headphones in Birkenau, these are the rules in Auschwitz, it doesn't depend on us. Also, the break after the first visit is 10 to 15 minutes for all companies, not only ours, and here is the same rule, the group must not be late for the tour in Birkenau. I would like to inform you that you chose Shared Transport and group tour options, which results in adapting to the rules that prevail in this type of trip. Our offer also includes the possibility of booking a private transport as well as a private guide only for you for the whole day. Best Regards Thomas

Amazing trip and well organised.

Was picked up at 7.30 and was very well informed about pick up/drop off and details before the trip by the driver. Finished and back at hotel by 14.30.

Trip is divided into two parts and over all last around 6 hours (including hour travel to destination). I highly recommend buying the lunch from the company for 40 zloty each includes a large packed lunch which was very generous in portion size (including drinks) and saves time as there’s only 10 minutes to have a lunch break, the cafe at Auschwitz is very busy and expensive so i would avoid. Driver spoke great English and was very welcoming. Over all an amazing trip but bring good walking shoes as there’s a lot of walking involved and can get very rocky and muddy.

We booked a small tour and were picked up from our hotel by Thomas our driver in a mini bus with 6 other people. On the way he played a documentary on screens in the bus about Auschwitz which was very informative and got us ready for what was to come. The tour was very well managed and Thomas fast tracked us through the queues to our English speaking guide. The tour takes place over 2 sites Auschwitz 1 and Auschwitz 2 Birkenau, approx 3km apart and lasts 3 hours. Our guide was very knowledgable and you see and learn everything you need. A1 has a small kiosk where you can purchase tea/coffee and packaged snacks, toilet facilities are free. A2 has a cafe and souvenir shop but be aware the toilet facilities will cost you 4 zlt. We were collected from our hotel at 7.50am and returned by 2.30pm, which we were more than happy with. I would highly recommend this tour, Thomas was very friendly and happy to point out things on our journey to give you an idea of the area and history. Five stars.

We had a very pleasant driver Paweł, who arrived on time. The drive was comfortable and we were given a tasty lunch including fresh fruit and a freshly made baguette sandwich (extra charge but reasonable). The guide in Auschwitz-Birkenau, Lucas, was excellent, passionate about his subject and easy to understand. Even my teenage sons were kept engaged for the entire tour. The museum was very busy so there was no time to linger when part of a group tour but that was understandable and I can’t see any other way to run things. The audio headphones provided were very good - clear audio and comfortable to wear. Those looking to spend more time should weigh this up against the benefits of an experienced and passionate guide. Would highly recommend the museum and the tour company that brought us.

Firstly our driver was awesome. He was early picking us up, which was not a problem, he explained every part of the journey and answered any questions we had including recommendations. He provided lunch for a small cost, which included a wide range of food, snacks (fruit & savoury) and drinks.

We were shown the video while on our way to Auschwitz, this was very emotional & provided an amazing insight and educational information we did not prior know. WARNING this is quite graphic.

Secondly our tour guide whilst in Auschwitz-Birkenau was very informed, friendly and compassionate. She was able to deliver the distressing facts in a very respectful way. We felt this added to our experience given the nature of events that took place there.

We would recommend
1) have an umbrella either for rain or sun, especially in Birkenau as it is all open, with no shade.
2) do not plan anything for after your trip, as it take times to digest the day.

Booked this trip as it has always been on my bucket list to visit . I have watched films and documentaries on the holocaust and read so many books about it and researched it so this was top of my list to see and visit . What can I say we where picked up by our driver Patrick who was really nice and friendly and we were on a mini bus 8 people altogether it took just under 1 hour and 30 mins but we watched a video while we traveled there which was really interesting. When we arrived we where given headsets and our guide Nadia spoke really good English and she took us around the camp . She had a very calming voice and drew you in to the moment when talking about the camp, she had gained a lot of information about the camp as her grandad had been a survivor of it . The camp itself was an emotional experience that I will never forget . I learned so much more information about the camp through her . You then went to the other camp which was a couple of minutes down the road and our guide come with us . You could purchase a packed lunch from our driver for 35PLN which was about £6 and exceeded our expectations which include a sandwich, chocolate bar . Apple, banana, croissant.juice. bottle of water . We then where dropped back at our apartments. Would recommend this trip .

Exceptionally moving, historically gripping. From start to finish a very good tour, hotel pick up, transport to and from, full guided tour, lunch provided at an extra cost. Fully air conditioned transport that is great for the hotter months. Short film included in transport. Friendly drivers and tour guides.

However, there are a couple of improvements that could be made, starting with; pick up time is very early and slightly inconvenient when you are supposedly on holiday. Transport is slightly cramped when the mini buses are full. The tour itself is highly informative and emotional, but the strict time schedule leaves you feeling a little rushed and as though you are back to school with timed bathroom breaks. There is little time for leisure and relaxing throughout the tour as you are constantly on a strict time frame to meet guides schedules. Don’t be surprised if you end up doing a light jog throughout the entirety of the tour as the guides walk extremely fast and do not allow you to take the whole process in, not to mention they will also leave you out of discussions if you have not kept up with them. Finally, in the tour you get to see the main points of both Auschvitz and Birkenau, but there are several buildings and huts that you do not get to go in as there is not enough time, if you feel as though you would want to see everything I would personally recommend not doing a guided tour and getting general admission tickets.

All in all a very good tour, friendly staff start to finish, lunch bought was very tasty and selection was brilliant. An unforgettable experience and not to be missed. But improvements could be made.
