Wieliczka Salt Mine Guided Tour in Krakow
US$40.75
Overview

Wieliczka Salt Mine has over 3km of tunnels, so it can be hard to know which are the best parts to visit. By going on a guided tour, you’ll make sure you see all of the salt mine’s highlights such as Chapel of the Blessed Kinga, and you won’t get lost either. Coach transport is included and you won’t have to wait in long visitor lines as entrance fees are included too.

What to Expect
The Wieliczka Salt Mine is a product of work of tens of generations of miners. It's a monument to the history of Poland and to the Polish nation. This deposit of rock salt in Wieliczka has been mined since the 13th century.

Explore more than 2.5-kilometers long route with amazing underground chambers chiselled out in rock salt, saline lakes, majestic timber constructions, a collection of mining machines and equipment and unique statues sculpted in salt.

By the 15th century the mine was already regarded as a cultural and geological phenomenon. The mine features about 3,000 chambers over 9 floors. You will visit also Chapel of the Blessed Kinga: a subterranean church richly decorated with chandeliers, sculptures and, religious figures carved entirely from salt.

In 1978 Wieliczka Salt Mine became one of the first UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Tour was smooth, no legitimate problems. The transport might not be first class seating but for the student prices I got, I saw extremely satisfied. This company brings you to and from the place of interest, pays for your ticket and gets you a guide....More
