Overview
Take a 9 to 12-hour combination tour of the former concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau and the Wieliczka Salt Mine in one day from Krakow with a 1-hour lunch break in between attractions.

In the option English Group Tour and Italian Group Tour you will visit Auschwitz, Birkenau and the Salt Mine with a live guide.

In the option Wieliczka Salt Mine + Birkenau, you will visit the Salt Mine with a live guide and Birkenau (the second half of Auschwitz) with a booklet.

This tour is most frequently chosen due to the price as well as the possibility of visiting the two most popular destinations in the south of Poland on the same day. The price includes pickup from the hotel or a meeting point, admission tickets to the sites, a live guide where specified, a drink and transport back to Krakow.
Highlights
  • Combined small-group day trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wieliczka Salt Mine
  • Travel between landmarks with ease from Krakow in an air-conditioned minivan
  • Timed entry slots mean skip-the-line admission
  • Exploring the sites with a guide reveals little-known information
What to Expect
Following pickup from your Krakow hotel in the morning, you’ll travel to Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, a UNESCO-listed former Nazi concentration camp. Spend some time at Auschwitz I, the former SS administrative center, or at Auschwitz II-Birkenau, where most of the murders took place (depending on option selected). A timed ticket allows you to bypass long lines outside of the complex and start your guided tour immediately.

After visiting the former SS administrative center and Holocaust memorial, you’ll have a break to purchase lunch.

The next stop is the  Wieliczka Salt Mine, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you’ll descend into the tunnels of one of the world’s oldest salt mines. During your tour, you'll see saline lakes and sculptures carved from salt before returning to the surface via an elevator. The tour concludes with hotel drop-off in Krakow.

There is a lot of walking so wear very comfortable, sturdy walking shoes. Make sure you take food provisions as it is a very early start with lunch stop being around 1pm. Auschwitz-Birkenau is a place that everyone (where possible) should visit as a reminder...More

When we arrived at the salt mines we were told that they normally have their own tour guide but not that day. Instead we ended up in a regular tour group at the salt mines with very big groups. We got headphones to be able...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Francisco! We had a baby with us and he made sure that she was taken care of. He guided us through Auschwitz and he was very knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend this tour.

The tour has both places. We went to to Aushwitz first and then the van takes to you Birkenau. I recommend seeing both.
