I was very excited to join the day trip to Cesky Krumlov on July 24 with my colleague. We were in small van with no more than 14 tourists from USA, Canada and Argentina. After two hours of travel, we stopped at a gas station along the highway that had a restroom and convenience store. We were given a 10-minute break. As we were heading out of the store, I saw the van driving out to the highway!!! I ran, shouted and waved my hands hoping that the driver, tour guide or a passenger would see us. The cashier did not speak English but somehow we managed to communicate after 20 minutes of figuring out how to call Cityrama Travel Agency. The van came back for us after a 45 minute wait at the gas station. What really surprised me is that the tour guide, who did not count his passengers onboard before leaving, did not even apologize! One of the passengers told us that if they did not say anything, the tour guide would not even know that we were missing. Aside from this unfortunate incident, we did not understand the narration of the tour guide as the audio system in the van was poor.

Cesky Krumlov is a must do tour while in Prague. It is beautiful and the ride was scenic. I cannot say enough about our guide Sarah. She spoke beautiful English and had a nice sense of humor. Sarah knows sooooo much about her Country. I think she knew more about my Country than I know. Sarah made our day 100% better than we expected. Ask for Sarah!!

On the english speaking tour we had Helen. And she is a character (in a good way). She likes to talk so make sure you get enough sleep the previous night. But listening to her you get a sense of history of the place/country/her views on the changes in Czech Republic over the last 30-40 years. We thoroughly enjoyed it but next to us a younger Aussie couple was less amused.

of course the place is fantastic and worth the visit. Recommend the tour highly.

The town of Cesky Krumlov and his castle are beautiful and very interesting. They are well worthwhile adding
to a visit of Prague. Unfortunately, we ended up with the worst tour guide that we expériences in a long time. He made derogatory remarks about Poles and Chinese people in various occasion. Our group included several people of Asian origin: it was obvious that they were not amused. He went on his own fast pace, leaving behind most of the group including some older people who had to walk slowly. He paused only at the entrance to let people catch up with him. He fed us information that I knew where false and verified to be such upon my return. For example, he told us that the EU will decommission all nuclear plants by 2020. Germany plans to do it, not the EU as a whole. He told us that a bridge nearby was the oldest stone bridge in Europe. I have walked over many stone bridges built many years before by the Romans. There was other nonsense about helium and à French king that abdicated and was canonized that I know where totally false. How can I believe what he told us about the site???

A long day - 2 hr bus rides (to and return) and 3 hr tour. Be prepared for a long walk (up hill and down hill over cobblestone streets) around the site. Guide was very informative providing insights to the area. Had lunch at a local restaurant. Tour through the castle was interesting.

We joint the one day trip. The tour bus is very good condition. The tour guide Jaroslav Vanecek is very good and knowledge. The CK City very pretty, the afternoon Castle tour is really great. Free time to walk around town , have enough time for lunch & had afternoon coffee and Honey cake also great. It is worth to take one tour to CK City.

Visited in January. Left Prague at 7 am and arrived at Cesky at 9:45. First rented the audio guide at the information center and went to the castle. Had lunch. Then walked the town’s grounds. Left Cesky on a 5 pm bus (just as the sun set). Perfect outing!

Encouraged by favourable reviews we booked this trip when we visited Prague in December.

Although stated as a Day Trip, it was NOT a day trip as it extended into the evening; we arrived back at our hotel at 7 pm and because of this late return missed the pickup for our evening's entertainment, the organisers of which spent a lot of time and trouble trying to contact us. Once we were alerted of our evening return our day was spoilt worrying about contacting those them, plus we spent 4,760 CZK unnecessarily.

Because it was December we couldn't go into the castle itself, just the grounds, there were few shops open in the 'village', only a few stalls in the square, and there was absolutely no atmosphere. All in all a day (and a lot of money) wasted.

We would not advise taking this trip during the winter and that those who do are advised that it runs into the evening so they do not book anything for that night.

It was truly a magical experience! The city of Cesky Krumlov is a city from fairy tales books, its narrow streets, houses with the typical reddish tile roofs, roads, church (absolutely gorgeous),it was like you went back in time.... super nice people and good food. Highly recommended. Kids and hubby were really happy.

Herded on to packed buses that air conditioning does not work to listen to a guide tell you about every tunnel, cow and lamb made the trip to cesky krumlov very long but not much about the history. Cesky krumlov was great but the promise of free wifi did not become a reality as this did not work either. Not my cup of tea.
We are very accustomed to smaller tours so we were disappointed.
