To celebrate my 50th Birthday we went with friends to the Great Barrier Reef and spent the night in the Reef Suites on Reef World . A world class experience that I would highly recommend, I was absolutely blown away. We were spoilt by Jaz, Summah and the food prepared by Dom was 5 star. In regards to the included drinks you definitely won’t go thirsty. Thanks for making my Birthday so special.
Now let me start with the room, the photos you see just don’t do it justice. At night the water just comes alive with so many fish, just absolutely magical. When you read it will be hard to sleep as there is so much to look at is so true. A glass of red whilst lying on the bed watching the fish go by…..doesn’t get much better than this.
Definitely an experience I will never forget. I would highly recommend a “bucket list” activity that the memories will last a lifetime.

This experience has been on our bucket list since the concept was first proposed. When my daughter rang and indicated that she and her husband would also like to do it we took the plunge and booked the two suites straight away for a Saturday in May.
The whole experience was as memorable as we expected and is highly recommended.
The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful and are a credit to the organisation.
The only minor criticisms are in relation to the food and the maintenance of the pontoon.
The menu was not very exciting and the food was not served hot which I found disappointing, in fact the evening meal was hardly warm. Breakfast was a slice of toast with avocado spread and an egg. Food was not a consideration on deciding to book the trip but for the money I expected better.
The maintenance problem relates to a platform outside one suite which was unable to be raised. During our stay the wind blew quite hard through the night creating waves which would strike the underside of the platform causing a loud metallic clang which was impossible to sleep through. The view through the window was such that there was always something to see through the night.

My wife and I did the reef suites experience in December 2019, and I cannot recommend this enough. From the moment you check in and get on the boat the staff are there to help you however they can. When you arrive at the pontoon and put your bags away you can just breath the fresh air. As you arrive with all the day guests we just decided to have lunch and wait for the day guests to leave, the first day is a buffet style lunch on the boat its self and was very nice. After the day guests leave is when the magic starts, as you get the reef all to yourself along with the few other guests who a staying the night. The snorkeling wasn't the best snorkeling that we have done over the years as with the amount of people that come there daily the reef gets hammered a fair bit. However the water is still very clear and there is plenty of marine life and coral to see, along with the old turtle or two. Once you have had a snorkel you get to check into your underwater suite which I have to say is absolutely amazing. The rooms are beautiful with its own shower, toilet air-cons and massive windows which look right into the ocean. You will spend hours laying in bed just watching all the fish swim by. The food while you are on board is fantastic, there is canapés in the afternoon on the deck with drinks, before getting ready for dinner with was to die for. The chef is very talented. After dinner more drinks under the stars and a chance to see some of the big groupers which come out to swim at night. The next morning you wake to fish swimming by your window which will make you very keen to get into the water. Breakfast is amazing in the morning sitting watching the beautiful water as you eat. I recommend you go snorkeling before while you have the reef to yourself, and all the days guest arrive for the day and scare away some of the fish. Then just spend your day relaxing on the deck before you have leave for home. We had such a great time and cannot wait to go back and do it again.

This is such a special experience. From the moment we stepped on the boat, pontoon, then brought to our underwater suite, everything's so magical.
Sleeping in the reefsuite is so comfortable, but if the bed wasn't comfy enough (it is SOOO comfy!), counting the fish swimming fast would definitely make you fast asleep! And this is probably the only sleep I wouldn't mind waking up frequently throughout, just to check what's outside the glass window a.k.a fish discovery channel (a massive male grouper named George loves to hang out at night, his girlfriends are more elusive but we did see Georgina).
Plenty of activities; snorkelling will treat your eyes with colorful fish and corals. Hardy reef is plentiful and rich in natural wonders. Diving is even better and the diving instructors for the introductory dives are amazing!! They literally hold your hands throughout the dive and make you feel safe (thank you, Ali)
The food is 5 star (the chef is 5 star!! Thank you Chef Dom!).
The crews do not have the word "difficult" in their dictionary, every request, every service delivered professionaly and with smile.
Most of all, the pontoon manager, Andy, easily will triple the five star review. He is the absolute gem, the diamond, the shining star! (and not just because he kept refilling our wine glasses!)
If you're looking to do something very special for yourself or to be enjoyed with your loved ones, this is it!

Absolutely incredible experience. I don't know how but it actually exceeded my expectations. You really can't put into words what it's like to sleep underwater with the fish and turtles.
Compared to other places in the world this was a very affordable experience and if you're thinking about going I recommend 100% that you do it!
I want to thank Leah our host who was very beautiful and provided us with excellent customer service and hospitality. She deserves a promotion! The chef's food was excellent too and he came to say hello and see how we were which was nice.
The snorkelling was absolutely unreal. I feel really sad just thinking about how I'm not there anymore. The coral is amazing the reef is amazing the fishies are plenty and then there were so many turtles too!
The reef trip on the ferry boat there is 3 hrs and it actually goes pretty fast. There was a lovely senior staff woman with long blonde curly hair who was absolutely very nice and fun and provided excellent customer service. Also a young man with brown hair. However that's where the compliments end.
To management I would like to say thank you for an incredible stay and trip that my friend and I will cherish forever.
I am sorry to have to add, there was quite a few young staff on the boat to and from the reef that were less than amiable. One girl did not smile at all and when she came over to us actually made us feel uncomfortable because she looked so angry. And this was both on the way there and back with 2 days in between. There were other young boys that were also unhelpful when we asked questions and just looked like they didn't want to be there.
After experiencing such good service from the Leah and the other 2 staff members it was a real contrast to see the younger staff blatantly not care.
I did not want to tarnish this review in regards to the experience but just wanted to pass along to management that maybe those staff need some training.

We did the Reefsuites in December and it is an exceptional experience. Our host Abby took great care of us and the meals we had from Chef Mario was of the highest quality.
From the moment you get on the boat to Hardy Reef you are made to feel welcome. The activities are all enjoyable and recommended but the absolute joy is when the day trippers depart (at 3.00pm) and only you, the remaining crew and a small posse of other guests remain.
You can watch the amazing sunset over a drink and canapes, marvel at the stunning night sky into the evening and be mesmerised by the reef life from the underwater windows in your suite. We saw many large and small fish, a Turtle and the enormous Groper that hangs around Reefworld.
In the morning enjoy, a brilliant sunrise, more great food and crowd free snorkelling, whilst experiencing that bittersweet feeling of shortly having to return to the real world.
The Reefsuites are relatively new and in great condition, the air conditioning is very comfortable and a welcome retreat from the heat of the day. Beer, water, wine and ciders are included in the Reefsuite package along with Mario's magnificent meals. We did the scuba diving which is extra.
The other overnight guests also had glowing reports that the above deck Reefsleep experience was amazing. The group we shared the experience with were a good bunch and the overnight crew are very engaging and helpful.

We have done a lot of “experiences” and this would have to be the best.
Service was impeccable, food was outstanding, snorkeling was amazing especially once all the day trippers left we had the entire reef to ourselves. We only had 6 other people with us so it made it extra special. The under water suite that we booked was first class and the fish life was mesmerising. For us this isn’t going to be a “once in a lifetime” bucket list item it will be a yearly visit that needs to be experienced over and over again. Thanks to all the staff that contributed to a wonderful 2 days.
Photos do not do this suite justice. Book the reef suite rather than the reef sleep you will not regret it.

My husband and I were blown away by the experience. Snorkeling and seeing a groper hang out near our room was definitely memorable. Staff were super friendly and assisted our snorkels. Special thanks to Michelle for the hospitality and Sebastian the absolutely amazing chef who overfed us!

Not sure how anyone could give this experience anything but 5/5 it was perfect in every way. My son and I were lucky to stay in the Reef Suites last weekend and it definitely had the WOW factor. So many fish swimming past constantly, comfy bed, temperature a little cool but that was fixed easily with a jumper and recommend ear plugs as I am a very light sleep and I could hear the swish of the water on the side of the walls. The food was absolutely delicious and there was a constant supply - you will not go hungry. We also did the helicopter 10 min ride which I totally recommend, seeing the reef from above is just breath taking. The staff especially Michelle were so friendly and helpful, and my 11 year old had the best time ever. The snorkelling is so good and this time of year (March) the water temperature was perfect. Anyone thinking of doing this definitely do, you will not be disappointed.

It doesn't get any better than this. Not only is the Reefsuite an amazing underwater experience - complete with blue lighting into the ocean so that you can watch the reef go about its business - but the staff are also ready to provide the best possible hospitality. The food is top quality, prepared by Sebastian, a French chef and no detail for our comfort was overlooked.
