Fraser Island 4WD Tour from Hervey Bay
From US$143.46

Explore the highlights of Fraser Island via 4x4 vehicle, which allows you to access parts of the island other tours can't reach. Lounge on the beach, swim in unspoiled lakes, and walk through the rain forest in the company of a guide, who will shed light on what makes the island so special through their informative commentary.

What to Expect

Begin your Fraser Island adventure with morning pickup at your Hervey Bay hotel or a central meeting point. Booking this Fraser Bay tour ahead of time means you'll be sure to visit the must-see island when in Hervey Bay. Transfer to the ferry for the ride over to the sand island, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll be collected in a 4-wheel-drive vehicle, which enables you to reach the most remote and rugged parts of the island.

Visit the shores of Lake McKenzie to bask in the sun or swim, snap photos of the clear waters of Wanggoolba Creek, and walk through the rain forest filled with pine and ghost gum trees. Along the way, your guide will fill you in on this special island and its flora, fauna, history, and culture. Head for Seventy-Five Mile Beach, where you can scout for whales (seasonal) or book a short scenic flight (own expense).

Learn about the technicolor striated sand formations at the Pinnacles and see the Maheno shipwreck. Stop for a buffet lunch at a beach resort, and then catch the ferry back to River Heads in the later afternoon, followed by Hervey Bay hotel drop-off.
