Overview
Pair superb views of New Zealand’s Marlborough Sound with a glass of the area’s famous Sauvignon Blanc and a bowl of freshly-steamed Greenshell Mussels on this high-end, 3-hour sightseeing cruise. Cruise aboard a high-end luxury launch as you explore Pelorus Sound and Kenepuru Sound, stopping to look for local wildlife and to visit a local mussel farm.
What to Expect
Head to the South Island’s Havelock Marina, Pier C, in the afternoon for the start of your cruise. You’ll climb aboard the MV Spirit, a luxury ship that will guide you through your sightseeing trip in this visually-striking coastal region. Havelock is known as one of the best entry points for visitors exploring Pelorus Sound and Kenepuru Sound, the two main sounds that make up the greater Marlborough Sound area.

You’ll spend the day cruising on the MV Spirit, a 45-foot (14-meter) catamaran with both indoor and outdoor viewing areas that will guide you through the sounds. As you enjoy views of the winding coastline, dig into a bowl of freshly-steamed Greenshell Mussels accompanied by a glass of local Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The fact you’re eating foodstuffs grown right in this picturesque area will add to your enjoyment.

As you continue your boat trip, you’ll have the chance to stop by a local mussel farm and experience how these bivalves are grown in the sounds’ nutrient-rich waters. You’ll also enjoy live commentary as you cruise, including maybe a few sightings of local creatures like dolphins, seals and penguins.

For those who want to keep the fun going during the ride, additional beverages beyond the first glass of wine are available for purchase, including local wines, juice, beer and bottled water. An array of light snacks is also available if you’re still feeling hungry.

You’ll return to the Havelock Marina at the conclusion of your cruising trip.

This tour was spectacular! The tour by bus of the region, driven and commented by Ryan Godsiff, skipper, tour guide, owner, was wonderful. He had grown up in the area and was very knowledgeable. But the boat cruise for our group was over the top:...More
