Calypso Outer Great Barrier Reef Cruise from Port Douglas

Select Date and Travelers
2 travelers
Explore the very outer Great Barrier Reef in luxury and style with Calypso. The custom designed vessel will take you to Agincourt or Opal Reef, both regarded as some of the most significant sites on the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkeling is the easiest way to experience the reef or try an introductory dive, no experience required. For the advanced divers, certified diving is available. Let Calypso take you to the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef and explore the rich and diverse coral gardens.
  • Visit three snorkel/dive sites along the Agincourt, Opal, and Tongue Reefs
  • Incredible marine life: reef sharks, sea turtles, parrotfish, clown fish…
  • Tour for all abilities: snorkelers, first-time divers, and certified divers
  • Hassle-free and great value: hotel pickup, lunch, and two teas included
What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Port Douglas and a short transfer to the marina. Set sail for the Outer Reefs aboard a custom-built, snorkel-only vessel that allows you access to the remote outer reefs, including Agincourt, Opal, and Tongue Reefs. As you arrive at the first site, the crew goes through basic snorkeling techniques and helps you get suited up for your first snorkel or dive. Depending on your experience level and the tour option chosen, either enjoy swimming and snorkeling around the reef; join an introductory dive in a small group of up to four, accompanied by a PADI-certified dive instructor; or take part in a certified dive in a small group of up to seven, accompanied by a PADI-certified dive master. Back onboard, have a tasty morning tea as you cruise to the second destination. Here, enjoy a second dive, take part in a guided snorkeling excursion, or enjoy swimming and snorkeling at your leisure. After working up an appetite in the water, refuel with a buffet lunch onboard before setting out for the third and final site of the day. After a full day at sea, enjoy afternoon tea as you take in your last views of the Great Barrier Reef en route back to Port Douglas. On arrival at the cruise port, a driver takes you back to your hotel.

This is the best way to see the reef. Stunning scenery, abundant and colourful marine life, brought to you by an affable, informative and cheerful crew. Would happily recommend to anyone inquiring about snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef.

We all loved our day out on Calypso Blue. The staff were so helpful and fun. All the equipment was great quality (including providing prescription masks which made a huge difference for my son). Would definitely do it again!

You need to contact the company by email. Just google the name and you will find a link to them. I was just a passenger so can only tell you a limited amount of information.

I would say it depends on the conditions as well. If there is a big swell it might be difficult but the staff on the boat are excellent and safety is a priority. I would ask them prior to going
