Highlights
  • Round-trip transport to Lamington National Park eliminates the need to rent a car
  • Entrance fees and activities included at O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat
  • Learn about the UNESCO-listed rain forests through a guide's live commentary
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off makes for a seamless experience
What to Expect
Be ready for convenient pickup at your hotel in Brisbane or Gold Coast. Be glad you aren't concentrating on the road or directions as you take in scenic views on the drive to Lamington National Park, part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia.  On the way to your day's base at O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat, make stops at the local Gallery Walk to peruse crafts and at Tambourine Mountain for epic views and photo ops over the Pacific Ocean. Once you reach O’Reilly’s, spend the next few hours exploring independently during some free time. Opt to take a treetop canopy walk with a guide to teach you about the rain forest ecosystem or get some close-up views of native birds such as Albert's lyrebirds, wedge-tailed eagles, or bowerbirds. Independent travelers will enjoy the option to simply walk around the property’s rain forest trail system on their own. Upgrade for an included lunch at the on-site restaurant when booking. On the way back to your departure point, stop at a local alpaca farm to see and learn about the fluffy creatures. End the day with drop-off back at your hotel.

Chris was a super guide who knows a lot about nature and the animals in the rain forest. The bus drive takes quite a long time from Brisbane - about 2 hours there and 2 hours back. The rain forest walk itself is quite short - about 1 hour. The board walk takes about 15 minutes.

First day of sunshine after 5 gloomy and rainy days. It was refreshing and the birds were attesting to that. Many hours on the bus, but the stops were rewarding. The O’Reilly forest was amazing. David the tour guide and driver was knowledgeable and generous with all sorts of

Thoroughly enjoyed this trip. David was a very giving tour guide with so much knowledge. We covered a lot of things, my favourite part (and reason for taking this trip) was the walk through the park and treetop bridge..wasn’t disappointed.

Terrible experience. Booked the tour over the phone with a woman who confirmed that we would be picked up from our hotel at 8:15 in the morning. Come to day of the tour, they were a COMPLETE NO SHOW. We spent over an hour and a half trying to talk to someone on the phone to get

Response from Coastal65648779355, Public Relations Manager at O'Reilly's & Lamington National Park from Brisbane

Thank you for writing Isabel. It depends on the person but most people like to break the journey and see a few extra sights. When we design a tour, we aim to please the majority. There is a direct transfer to O'Reilly's if you had asked, you could have chosen that instead of the brochured day tour. It never hurts to ask!
