We chose ATT Kings ‘Litchfield National Park Waterfalls’ one day tour and thoroughly recommend it.
It covers a lot of territory and is very good value at $192 pp. This includes a healthy lunch at Wangi Falls.
Highlights include visiting the huge Magnetic Termite Mounds, two swimming opportunities at Florence Falls and Wangi Falls - we both swam in these beautiful and refreshing plunge pools. The easy walk back to or from Florence Falls is along the gorgeous Shady Creek Track.
Also, a visit to a lookout over the immense Tolmer Falls and on the way back to Darwin we stopped at Howard Springs and fed the turtles and barramundi.
One of the main reasons for this being such a successful experience for us was the quality of our guide and driver for the day, Prem. His manner was very friendly, courteous and thoughtful. At all times his commentary was concise, clear and very informative. He made sure that we were given very clear instructions as to directions for walks and the times we needed to return to our coach. This ensured that the day went very smoothly and we were on time for all the stops we needed to make in this busy tour.
We were picked up at 7:15am and dropped back at 5:30pm.
Big thanks to Prem for a great day out in Litchfield.

An amazing experience, feeding gigantic baramundi, a tour through the Indigenous centre & the iconic castle were all good. The highlights was swimming at Florence falls (beautiful shady waterhole backed onto two waterfalls) & viewing the breathtaking Tolmer and Wangi falls. The latter two were closed for swimming temporarily. Still well worth the visit to see these beautiful oasis's.

Only reason for not getting a 5 was the our rude guide.

Shortly after sending my drone up, keeping it away from the path and out of the way of the viewing platform (to not disrupt other visitors photos) he asked around if anyone had a gun and went on to claim that this was just people too lazy to walk down from the parking lot.
Noticing I (10 meters away) had the controller in my hand, he walked up and claimed that drones were not allowed to be flown in this park (not true). I informed him I had a permit to fly the drone from the Parks and wildlife department.
Immediately backpedding and beginning to walk away he said well don't be be flying over people (which I wasn't) and don't be photographing us (despite the drone camera facing the other way).

Pretty disappointing (and a little amusing) to see how he handled that interaction and having such a swollen head, that he thinks anyone wants to film him instead of the majestic Tolmer falls.

But an overall incredible tour and a must see.

Fabulous day. Troy was an excellent guide giving us great commentary along the way.
Unfortunately a lady slipped at Florence Falls and was injured. Troy managed the situation extremely well, keeping calm at all times. Making sure the lady had the medical attention needed, but also trying to make sure the rest of the group did not miss out on the remainder of the tour. He managed to get us to our lunch venue after the lady was airlifted to the hospital. We arrived back to our designated drop off areas on schedule. Well done Troy and thank you for an amazing day.

At Banyan Tree Cafe Batchelor we were charged $7.50 for a very mediocre cappuccino which was luke warm.
We had a fabulous cappuccino coffee at Wangi Fall Cafe for a mere $4.80.
Lunch venue at ?? Safari Camp just up from Wangi Falls. Great venue with fabulous fresh food. Only issue was we were unaware we needed cash for the bar and dessert. Notification when booking would assist.
Thank you

Fantastic day out with Troy today. He was excellent with his execution and calmness in the way he handled a situation where a lady fell hurting herself quite badly and needing immediate attention to the extent of getting a helicopter to come and get her. He handled the situation magnificently but also ensured the rest of the people on the tour didn’t miss out on the remainder of the tour.
There was just a couple of downsides to the tour which was totally out of Troy’s control. One was at the morning tea stop at Banyan Tree Caravan Park where I ordered a coffee which came out in a small mug, was relatively cold AND cost me $7.62 for the experience. A lot of other people were complaining about the cost and quality as well. The other thing was that the lunch at Lichfield Safari Camp only took cash. That is fine as long as everyone knows that before the tour and don’t get embarrassed when purchasing the beautiful Mango cheesecake or drinks with no cash. This needs to be noted on your website and booking confirmation.
Overall was a tremendous day out. Thank you Troy.

This is all day 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. out of/into Darwin bus trip to Litchfield. If you are a waterfall spotter you go to Florence falls first. 134 steps down to valley floor on well made steel staircase which spreads out the effort. Usual slippery rock entry/exit to plunge pool at falls, but very good steel steps into pool make this easier. Stop off at 6m. high termite mound, also Banyan Tree cafe at 10 a.m. if you want to queue with 50 people for a coffee😛 also visit Tolmer & Wangi Falls, but vulnerable bat habitat at Wangi mean no closer. Lunch was very standard cold meat and salad so not fancy. Howard Springs nature reserve visited on way back but very basic as only one large pond with a couple of very big Barra for feeding. Other operator trips out here include Jumping Crocs which make this only average value. However coach very comfortable and driver Shane had right mix of good information and humour.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour to Lichfield. Pickup was on time, commentry by Prem and Cam was informative. There are lots of comfort stops along the way so all good there. Buffet salad and fresh fruit for lunch was very welcome, fresh and plentiful. A good hat is a must as some parts of the walking doesn't have shade. Swimming in the rock pools is a welcome relief from the heat, so take your swimmers. Rocks around the pools can be slippery- good idea to take your reef shoes.

Pick up was on time at our hotel. Shane was a great driver - a local who knows the area and can speak to the places we visited. Swim stop was great - have a dip it’s worth it. All the stops were great. Yes some of the places were expensive for a snack but it is remote NT! Thoroughly enjoyed. Lunch stop was cold meats and salad. Tea, coffee and water included. They only take cash for extra drinks (soft drink, alcohol). The coach was great - so comfortable, a/c, USB ports for charging if you needed it (I felt sorry for people we saw on mini buses along the way!). Pretty cruisy day but you also get a lot packed in. Highly recommend.

On May 12 we were driven by the very entertaining Shane, who gave us a very informative commentary. He was particularly caring with the several quite elderly passengers, advising them about limitations on walks, etc.
One lady became quite overcome from the heat and breathing difficulty, and Shane very kindly escorted her back to the bus.
I was devastated to find I had left my phone in the toilet block at Tolmer Falls when we arrived for lunch at Wangi Falls. Shane drove me back to Tolmer Falls , arranged for lunch to be kept for me, and missed out on his own lunch .
Thankfully, my phone was still where I left it!!
Such a wonderful experience of kindness out in that remote and awe inspiring landscape. Thank you Shane!!!!!!

A wonderful day out viewing amazing termite mounds and then on to 3 separate waterfalls, the first being Florence Falls, well worth the walk down the steps to view.
(you can swim there too ) and then take the walking trail for a scenic walk back to the bus. Next stop was Tolmer Falls, this one is for viewing only, a bit underwhelming as there was not much water flowing. We then stopped at Wangi Falls, again you can swim here or just take in the amazing view. Our lunch stop was very nice with a good array of cold meats, salads etc and you can get a beer or a wine if you want.
We then headed back to Darwin, stopping at the Howard Springs Nature Park to view Barramundi being hand fed.
A highly recommended tour, the only issue we had was as the tour bus picks you up so early we had no breakfast as we got told there would be a morning stop in Batchelor where you can buy something for breakfast. The place we did stop at did not offer anything other than cake at $3 a slice or biscuits and coffee/tea at $4 a cup and you had to make it yourself! Not sure of why we would stop at such a run down place when we passed a road house in Batchelor that would of had something more substantial to eat. So if you ask your hotel the night before they will provide you with a breakfast box that you can pick up before getting on the bus.

Reading the reviews we were a little bit skeptical on booking this tour. But as this tour suited our schedule so we decided to book it anyway. It turns out we had nothing to worry about and was perfect for us.

Starting the day we were picked up from our hotel on time. Our tour guide Janelle and driver Ollie were great. Janelle provided some knowledgeable, humorous commentary and was happy to answer any questions as best she could. Ollie was happy to help out when ever he could. On speaking to the staff we found out they were both thrown in the deep end as the usual driver and tour guide were sick. Both were usually assigned to other roles within the company. They both conducted the day with professionalism and grace and the tour went off without a hitch.

Walking shoes, hat, sunscreen and a refillable drink bottle were a must. There was a little bit of walking and stairs involved early in the day but most fitness levels should be able to complete. Other options were given for people who weren't going to complete the walks.

We felt there was plenty of time at most stops to see the sights and swim. Maybe bring a snack with you if you get hungry before or after lunch.

Thanks again to Janelle, Ollie and AAT Kings.
